Thank you Klowny! I completed this job on my 91 Camaro today! Would not have had the confidence to do it without your video.
Did my rear shocks last weekend, also using your video.
Awesome!! Glad I helped!!
Easier than I thought, happy I watched your video. I got a 1990 Chevy Camaro I’m putting a 350 Chevy small block in right now currently
Awesome good luck! Don't forget to subscribe
Hey Klowny, Thanks for the Vid. I just replaced my shocks on a compleately stock 1989 IROC-Z Convertible. They was in the same shape as these compleatly worn out. I had a toolbox full of tools but not the sizes I needed thanks for telling me what I needed! I to had a time getting the two lower nuts loose but with a 6 point 24 mm I was able to take a hammer to the 1/2 drive ratchet and knock them loose. peace of cake. I allso replaced the inner and outer tierod ends, center link and idler arm they to was worn out. I just got this car and what a find! 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Convertible ALL ORIGINAL down to the cotter keys LOL 113K miles. I will post some Vids soon. Thanks again for the vid. without it I would of been 1/2 way threw the job without the tool sizes I needed.
Awesome man..great find..and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video man! Just got some new KYB shocks for the front of my 82 350 Berlinetta. Eventually I'm going to replace all the suspension components, but this is a good first step.
Your welcome! Thanks for watching!
thanks guys, i know this is an older video, but I've always been hesitant on changing the front struts, I thought you had to undo the strut tower top cap,
which F's up your alignment. so i just never did it, since seeing this video i know its cool to do and doesn't mess up the tower camber settings. good job,
kool..thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks for telling me to take the tie rod off..... Really helpful
You got it..dont forget to subscribe
Your channel helped me a lot really appreciate this I have a 85 z28
awesome..glad i was able to help
The reason he had problems loosening the bottom bolts is because you hold the bolt head and turn the nut.....works all the time...plus a little master blaster helps
Damn was hoping this was a video for the shock, like the video said
Thx bro. I'm about to tackle this on my 92' RS. The video will be of great help. ✌
Kool thanks for watching and commenting

Do you have to remove the brake line?
you the man!
thank u
Klowny, I noticed on your vid. you did not have shock dust covers. I replaced mine with monroe sincatract and and put the old covers on them. I allso noticed you had lock washers on the top of the shock bolts Mine did not have them. Now I feel some shake in the steering wheel. I allso replace the inner outter tie rod ends, center link and idler arm. should I have left off the shock covers?? I'm sure these are stock covers off the old shocks. Thanks for you help! Lonnie
Shock boots should be on there..we just didnt have them that day..if u feel a vibration in the steering wheel it could be a few things..warped rotors , wheels need balancing..perhaps something was installed loose..
So I bought a 1982 Camaro Berlinetta and I put it up on Jack's yesterday and everything went smooth until I went to go to drop it down and my struts were completely hyperextended and won't seem to depress and it looks like the alignments all out of work now. Is there any way to fix that or is that just something that's telling me that I need to replace the front struts?
My front end is like a good eight or nine inches higher than it was before which is terrifying. It looks like my car is trying to pull a wheelie.
Push the car up and down and see if the struts go down and up
@@klowny1969 yeah they do. lol I just needed somme sleep. Dont mind me. I looked at other pictures and I was just tripping. 🤣
HEY KLOWNY how about a video replacing front rotors on a 3rd gen..
When i get a chance..not a prob...thanks for watching
Do you know if it is possible to set up the angle of the struts ? I do not mean the tire chamber, the struts on my car have different clearances to the rim against each other.
Lukas Knappstein i dont understand your question
I used a breaker bar and 3 years off the life of my back.
No burn out sequence in the beginning? Oh man
ThirdGenDude92 this was an older video lol
Hello klowny i really need your help. I have a 91 camaro 3.1L. It runs fine when i press the gas but when i press the brakes oil pressure goes down and shuts off. The car idles really rough when in park. Rpms cant go under 1000. Can you please give me some guidance? It would be greatly appreciated. I dont really have the money to pay a mechanic to run it on a computer thank you
Give it a full tune up and clean the throttle body and take it from there
Also check the computer codes by putting a paper clip on the scan port..or bring it to autozone to get a free scan
Is there a coil that's supposed to go around the shock?
some really old shocks had that..not necessary
I've got a question for you that has nothing to do with the video to turn your car on do you have to push the key in turn it back then forward to turn your car on because I have to do that with my car
not on a thirdgen camaro
It's on a thirdgen
I know the ignition has been replaced because I found the old one it kinda annoying trying to turn the key
ignition issue possibly
@@Primecorey your ignition/steering column is fucked
not rotors, that would only happen durring braking, I'd think? i dont feel shake during braking. I do notice that when I hit the breakes it pulls to the left. was very noticable before the other parts was replaced. I was thinking from the get go that I had a bad caliper. I allso noticed that the upper nuts on the shocks that go into the towers was very very hard to tighten. I have on the since _a _tracks "monroe" a 10mm on top and a locking nut that fits into a grove. on the shock tower mounts. I gave it all I had with girlfriend holding the 10 mm atop and a nut onthe bottom cant remember the size, AND THEY DIDNT SEEM TO SEAT. is there some supper power apply pressure I'm missing?? whats the specks?? they spun freely but i'm wondering is thats cousing the shake. now if that is the case the front end was so worn out in the 1st pace it should of shaked worse to start with. ......Thanks for the fast reply, any help is appre.
Very warped rotors can cause a vibration even when not braking..although that doesnt sound like its ur case..u would have had the vibration before too...those shock nuts should seat..if they arent tightened down all the way , its possible they are hitting or vibrating as u drive..just gotta tighten it..maybe if u can get an impact on it, but dont go too crazy with the impact
come to find out it was the tires... the tires on the car was 255/50/16 and according to discount tire they was about as old as the car LOL there is a date on the side but they had deep tread. I put a set of Kumho 245/50/16" on the car after rebuilding the front end and WOW that IROC rolls down even the horrible streets in MI smooth as silk. maybe this will help some others. replaced inner outter tie rods drag link idler arm shocks calipers brake spads and tires. had tires mounted and ballanced front end allinment.....SMOOTH. tanks Klowny
Awesome glad u got it all squared away!
did you remove the brake lines?
Adrian Perez i dont remember..what did i do in the video? i dont think i did
Isn't it a shock, not a strut?
if its designed to turn its called a strut
So how do I upgrade to put in a big block?
buy a different car or change absolutely everything
use a 4 foot pvc persuader
red thread lock pisses me off when people or mechanics use this junk on parts knowing you or so someone else has to tear back in to it eventually. not smart to use that on a shock because what's going to happen when you have to take the nut back off you are going to spin that shaft. good day turned to a pissed off tool throwing day. for most
nah its not that bad..thanks for watching and commenting
Power of electric tools lol that Ingersoll with 175 psi dont gave s*** on Milwaukee fuel. Easy... no heat with 1/2 Milwaukee haha
