The fuel tank drop and fuel pump replacement was a success. I had to use a bit of what I learned in this video again without having to remove the top part of the shocks which would not be needed. That's twice I have done this in a month for different items and I can't thank you enough for the easy to understand video. Just wanted to thank you again and have a great day.
Outstanding attention to detail and articulate precise instructions! I really appreciate this FREE advice that the shop wants to charge me $400 to do, now I could easily do it on my own semi-pro like! Thanks again guys!
Watched to find correct hardware sequence to install new KYB agx adjustables since tgeir cartoon instructions are useless and you gave exact steps with even the washers - THANKS
Thanks Klowny again for the helpful video! Used second time for my shock upgrade to the KYB Monotube this time. Made real easy with the reminder by watching. Rides and responds great now. Appreciate all your great and helpful videos!
Thanks for the the great video! I had never dreamed of doing this on my Camaro until I watched this. I tried it recently and had success. The job did not take long at all and was something I don't fear anymore. Bad news is my fuel pump went bad just about a month now after. I have checked out the cut out options and dropping the tank. I am opting for dropping the tank because the car is in like new condition and really can't bring myself to cutting on it. Good news is that now that I know what you taught me I can do a good portion of what I need to do with confidence. Appreciated big time! Have a great day!
I just completed this job an hour ago. I think the hardest part was getting the carpet back in place. How do you know when you've tightened the bolt inside the car at the top of the shock enough? Thanks for your help! New subscriber!
hey man. I checked the manual to make sure I wasn't missing any details you were doing. it looks like a quick simple job. im glad. its on my list for tomorrow. thanks again klowny
Again coming in clutch with the life saving videos lol it was a pretty simple job once I knew what I was doing but man I couldn't find a way to hold down the stud so I can take it off with a wrench
Thanks for this awesome tutorial! I followed these steps and I was able to get the rear shocks done in less than an hour. You also helped me with changing my water pump, Thanks bro!
So, I forgot the rear carpet was a separate piece! Easy to lift up and expose the rear shock bolts...THANK YOU for your fast reply and aid. Cheers and have a great day!! Shocks being replaced today:) All the best!
this helped some with rear coils on my 01 z28. aftermarket exhaust was a killer for me. But job done and got a good ride. Next is the front shock coil assembly. need a vid for that. thanks for the pointers
another awesome video thank you buddy for taking the time to show everybody how to do this properly I'm going to subscribe you earn that that's for sure if I may ask I have a 1986 IROC z28 Camaro what do you think about air shocks and to have A job done with shocks and labor how much does that normally cost to have done a roundabout number I'm disabled in a wheelchair I have to save money up I'm getting a set of headers put on with an exhaust leak fix but shops I definitely need thanks again brother
I have a 88 GTA I want to lower a bit Mostly street some drag racing How much can I go before I need a wheel alignment And how do I do the rear alignment Ty
Question: do you know the size of the inside of the spring isolator? I need to buy some so my springs dont squeak but have no idea which ones to buy.... at 6:06 u talk about it.
To everyone watching this in the future, this video has to be for some kind of base level Camaro, not an Iroc. See this picture for the location of the top bolts: www.thirdgen.org/forums/attachments/suspension-chassis/447741d1501888007-how-remove-rear-shocks-rearshocks.jpg You get to them by putting the rear seat down and pulling up the carpet, no need to take off trim pieces. Did it today, pretty easy once I actually found them. The bottom of the shock is also farther forward, it's just in front of the axle. Not bad to get to if you take off the wheels
I usually put electrical tape around the rubber isolator and the spring that way it won't move around like that one put it back in I know it's in place on the spring
i want to clarify, can i install 4th Generation camaro 1999 Rear Springs into the 3rd Generation 1991 trans am GTA? will it fit normally without modification? as i feel that my Rear Springs trans am a bit low.and i wish to have the 4th gene. normal hight.
I just did all 4 of mine, I actually bought the same shocks you did. My front struts were completely shot and it had fuckin air shocks in the rear. The lower rear shock bolts were so rusty I had to use a 3 foot pipe and they ended up just breaking.
dafontenot I did mine without removing anything. tires on, shocks on. I was able to pry them out with a bar and slip the lowering springs in with a few taps of a hammer. although I don't have isolators

I have a 88 GTA I want to lower a bit
Mostly street some drag racing
How much can I go before I need a wheel alignment
And how do I do the rear alignment
Ty
you can also take that rubber isolator down wrap it one time of electrical tape in the right position and then shut the whole thing back up in the car
Hey, do you do anything to the springs before you install them? Or you just pop the old ones out and put the new ones in?
Sherron just pop them in..thanks for watching and commenting
Im gonna do this tomorrow, thanks to your vid:)
is the spring removal the same for the 4th gens?
Yes..they have the same setup as 3rdgens
What kind of springs did you buy ?
Why replace the springs? Upgrade? What are symptoms of bad springs?
Car sagging low..dont forget to subscribe

Don't know why he undid the trim but there is absolutely no difference between any 3rd gen Camaro or Firebird when doing this.
I usually put electrical tape around the rubber isolator and the spring that way it won't move around like that one put it back in I know it's in place on the spring
Are those spring stiffer then replacement originals if so where can I get them?
So you have to remove springs?
what is the part number for those coil springs?
Im doing this in the morning thanks guys
Thanks for the post, I didnt kown it was that simple.
thanks for watching

i rele like the way you make your videos im planning on getting a 89 camaro and lowering it
I just did all 4 of mine, I actually bought the same shocks you did. My front struts were completely shot and it had fuckin air shocks in the rear. The lower rear shock bolts were so rusty I had to use a 3 foot pipe and they ended up just breaking.
lol that sux..thnx for watching
Nice clear to understand and do video, cheers buddy!
Thanks for watching and commenting
very nice tutorial personally I would have went with the bilstein though
thanks for watching
Nice job!
Thank you
How do you know when you need to replace the rear springs?
Car usually sags in the rear
Dang alright thanks for responding so fast!
np
I would probably buy a new rubber isolator pads while I'm putting the springs in those look pretty old
I was able to remove the rear springs by only unbolting the bottom bolt of the shocks
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks..don't forget to subscribe
Good work as always...
thanks for the video.
klowny1969 what is the part number for coil springs
they look like SUM-720102
anyone know what kind of springs he used
I think I have that same exact car.
Do you live in ny?
I'm gonna guess this is the same for 95 Camaro models as well?
yesir..thnx for w
good video..
where did you find lowering springs for a v6
nice video's nice channel.
So, no spring compressor for the rear springs?
dafontenot nah
Cool, thanks man. All of the "official" product videos strongly recommend them, but it seems unnecessary.
dafontenot I did mine without removing anything. tires on, shocks on. I was able to pry them out with a bar and slip the lowering springs in with a few taps of a hammer. although I don't have isolators
