@@JennandLeon i mean Teh Tarik Kurang Manis... don't just order Kurang Manis hehe. All drinks in Malaysia are considered sweet (by foreigners standard based on my observation) and for any drinks just add 'Kurang Manis' for less sweet or 'Kosong' (zero in Malay) for completely sugar free, and letter O means no milk, only sugar i.e. Kopi Kurang Manis (coffee with milk less sweet) or Kopi O Kosong (black coffee - without any sugar or milk)

Mamak is Indian Muslim but sometimes there would be no sign indicating its a Mamak so just ask the locals. Tarik in Malay means Pull so watch how they preparing the drink... its an art so to speak and there are even a competition for Teh Tarik making so make sure to check it out how they prepare it, just ask them to film and Malaysian would welcome you and be very happy to share it to the world.

@@JennandLeon for local food recommendation in Langkawi check out Nasi Dagang Pak Malau. Nasi Dagang is a specialty food for breakfast from East Coast of Malaysia, specifically the state of Kelantan and Terenggganu. Teh tarik means "pulled tea", McDonald's teh tarik is not authentic because they don't "pull" it. In mamak shop (Indian coffee shop), they literally "pull" the tea by pouring and stretching the tea from one container to the other; the main purpose is to cool the tea down from very hot to warm. For McDonald's fried chicken, the best is to go to a busy outlet with lots of people, because the chicken will then be freshly fried and juicy inside and not dry.

Or, the usual classic, Double Cheeseburger, if I want a quick bite with some nuggets. Full meal will be, either the Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, or just Fried Chicken. If I'm a bit under the weather because of cold or fever, the Bubur McD is a must, with extra white pepper.
If I want dessert, I'll choose Strawberry Sundae and dip the fries 🍟 in it 🤭 perfect sweet and salty, hot and cold combo.

It's very popular for the sick and some eat it during breakfast too. Or suitable for babies or toddlers (minus the garnishing and the white pepper).
There's a mango peach drink there that you should try too. It's refreshing good.
