    True...Malaysia usually import Halal beef/lamb/mutton from Australia, New Zealand & Brazil....& Halal buffalo from India....

      Cool! We had noticed that the beef in the supermarkets was generally imported from Australia and was just as expensive!

    • @diamondhead4139
      @diamondhead4139 Год назад

      @@BucketListTravellers Expensive because it is imported..in Malaysia, if we want to make dish like rendang we usually use indian buffalo meat or local beef/buffalo meat, more cheaper....but if not mistaken, Australian meat is more cheaper in Malaysia if you buy the whole part of meat than you buy steak cut meat... 😊

    Bubur Ayam = Chicken Porridge.
    Porridge in Australia I believe is oat based whereas porridge in South East Asia normally refers to Rice Porridge/Congee. The consistency could vary, some style could even be cooking the rice first and liquid (like water or broth) is added later on.
    There are many many MANY condiments available for Rice Porridge, but what you guys had are the usual ones (fried shallot, green onion, maybe chilli as well with sprinkle of oil). There are condiments like braised peanut, fried Ikan Bilis (anchovies), fried garlic,salted egg, pickled vegetables, fresh veg like carrot sliced, etc. Popular rice porridge come in plain, with chicken or with fish.
    Yes, Rice porridge is popular as breakfast, but also as comfort food especially the HK-style with is silky to taste.

      Hi Andresloft, you are right, porridge in Australia is oat based. Thank you for sharing this insight on bubur. It was really interesting to see it on the menu at McDonalds!

    I always prefer Mc Donald's fried chicken than the other fast food chain fried chicken in Malaysia. Crispy and yet very tasty 😋😋😋

      @@BucketListTravellers Yes, McD rice porridge is quite tasty esp when you are not feeling well and lost eating appetite, nasi lemak McD is as good as nasi lemak KFC, but you can get good nasi lemak from the street at a lower cost. Good video. 😀

      @@BucketListTravellers As for the fried chicken, I grow up with KFC and I still like the original recipe and McD fried chicken is also good. Perhaps the next time you guys visit Malaysia, you guys can try other Malaysian franchise food like Ayamas, Secret Recipe, Chicken Rice Shop etc. I like all the roast chicken from Ayamas and I really like the fish n chips, lamb shank and the cheesecakes from Secret Recipe esp the macadamia salted caramel cheesecake. 😀

    2:43 rice pudding is milk based, this bubur nasi (rice porridge) cooked with spices (clove, cinnamon, black pepper etc.) is more savoury.
