We love visiting Cabramatta, we go there at least once a month if not more, We love browsing its shops and restaurants, We always end up having a vegetarian soup in Loving Lien on John Street
Just a few tips from this Vietnamese Australian. You can prepare a dipping sauce in the little dish when you have your beef pho. Try the chilli oil with hoi sin sauce and siracha sauce. Even pickled garlic if you want. Then dip the beef brisket, rare beef fillet and beef tendon balls in it. That way you don't ruin your beef broth. Just lemon juice and fresh chilli in your bowl. Now the diy rice paper rolls, you add a tablespoon of the minced pickled chilli in the jar that is on the table with your little bowl of fish sauce given. When you buy bubble teas, you can always ask for half sugar or no sugar syrup. It's too sweet otherwise and not good for you. The banana fritters are the small and stumpy sugar bananas so they are naturally sweet. I love Vietnamese food 😂😂😂 Enjoyed the video. Thank you X
Thank you so much for the great tips! We love learning more about how to enjoy Vietnamese food authentically, and we'll definitely try your suggestions next time we have pho and DIY rice paper rolls. The dipping sauce idea sounds amazing, and we'll keep the sugar level in mind for bubble teas too! In our Burwood food tour video(ruclips.net/video/NU5W-AaX-Io/видео.html) the bubble tea place we visited were very open about sugar content and encouraged you to consider the sugar wisely. We liked that! Vietnamese food is absolutely delicious, and we really appreciate your advice. Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊🍜
Hey guys, thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! You must check out Cabramatta, it is a foodie institution in Sydney. If you ever come to the Sydney Northern beaches we'd love to show you around!
Go to the two food courts about 20m from Commonwealth Bank (CBA)... near the train station in Cabramatta. Most mains are about AUD$14 or less - just as good as the restaurants without the high overheads. Many ladies sell home-cooked meals for as little as AUD$10 a long John St... on the other footpath opposite CBA. They also sell fresh veggies, chilli, garlic and ginger grown from their gardens at half the price of major supermarkets. Bring cash as many places don't take cards.
Thanks for watching Jay! Cabramatta is such a culinary delight and we only just scratched surface. We hope you enjoy your Cabramatta foodie trip! - Jon
This is like the second or third time I've seen videos in cabramatta also you need to try stuff at Campbelltown they also have a pho shop and they have this sate chicken *I think that's how you spell sate idk* and you should put the chicken I the pho DUDE ITS SO GOOD they also have fried rice and lots of other vietnamese food
I've lived and grew up in the area for almost 49years, and I've never heard anyone call it Little Saigon. Hahah. There's a Little Saigon shopping centre in Bankstown though. Maybe you got it mixed up.
Yes, so yummy! We had to be really diligent with our selections too and so many other awesome dishes didn't make the cut, that is, we ran out of room in our bellies!
Unfortunately not. The Viet hoa oyster bar was on our list, but we ran out of room in our bellies for them! I don't think we had Zaap on our list though. We'll have to go back again! Thanks for the suggestions!
Love the video but should never put any sauce in the rice paper roll wrap. The meat/seafood has flavour in it already plus the fish sauce. If you want spicy put extra chilli in the fish sauce instead ☺️
Hi @Izzy9975, you raise a good point. It is pretty crazy to get rice paper rolls for $32, especially in Cabramatta! It was enough for the both of us and tasty but still… Thanks for watching!
@@asjeot That is a good point. We haven't done the maths, but still feel like Australia would be expensive even after adjusting for the differences in income.
Ah yes, we are aware of the Marrickville Pork Roll and will do a Marrickville food vlog in the next couple of months. Do you have any particular shops to recommend, especially for pork rolls?
What Cabramatta dishes would make it to the top of your bucket list? Let us know!

I'm a 73 year old Vietnamese, living in America, and still don't know how to eat Banh Xeo properly until I see you eat it. Great job. Thanks.
Thank you, your comments have made our day! 😃😃

What a great place for food, I miss going there (as a former Syndey native).Excellent video, you covered so much!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! We were very full by the end of the day and had plenty of leftovers!
You guys are excellent hosts! Your speaking and explaining is admirable🤩

Cheap eats and home grown food, awesome! Thanks for the tips, we'll have to check these out next time. Could make for an interesting video!
Cabramatta is absolutely the best place for foods l been here 35 years
It is pretty awesome isn't it! Definitely a Sydney foodie treasure!😋
Love your vlog. This is exactly what I was looking for...the different types of food in Cabramatta. Thanks

Hi @daryleflynn8853, thanks for watching and for your recommendation to visit Campbelltown. We'll look into it!
I've tried both Tony's bakery and Vinata, I like Vinata's banh mi more 😊
They are both pretty close and I think we also liked the taste of Vinata's over Tony's too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I've lived and grew up in the area for almost 49years, and I've never heard anyone call it Little Saigon. Hahah. There's a Little Saigon shopping centre in Bankstown though. Maybe you got it mixed up.
Last time we take wikipedia at face value! It goes to show you shouldn't trust everything you read online!😅
Hey guys you actually went with the video thanks love it, you should do auburn next they have great kebabs
You're welcome, thanks again for the suggestion! Yes, we have added Auburn to the list as well, we'll get there soon!
@@BucketListTravellers can’t wait you should visit new star kebabs and m brothers kebabs they are the ogs and great food
The hoisin sauce was meant tp be pour into your pho noodle soup. The sauce was for dipping your meat in. :))
Thanks for the correction! We'll definitely get this right next time!
Big hello from Vietnam
Hi there! Thanks for watching! Do you have any suggestions for Vietnamese food that we need to try?
Delicious food 😊😊
Yes, so yummy! We had to be really diligent with our selections too and so many other awesome dishes didn't make the cut, that is, we ran out of room in our bellies!
Bahn Mi in Canberra is $12!
😱😱 That is crazy! It had better be an amazing banh mi!
Bun Xeo my fav!
That was one of our favs too! Thanks for watching.🙏
Little Saigon
Thanks
You're welcome!
Did you guys try Viet hoa oyster bar and Zaap by Chang?
Unfortunately not. The Viet hoa oyster bar was on our list, but we ran out of room in our bellies for them! I don't think we had Zaap on our list though. We'll have to go back again! Thanks for the suggestions!
The best Ban Mi is in Annandale,
Thanks for the tip! Can you let us know the name of the shop you recommend? We'll check it out!
@@BucketListTravellers Thanks for that, I just looked it up, booth Street Bakery Annandale. and their cakes are amazing
@@3pierre91 Awesome, thanks for letting us know!!
@@3pierre91 Awesome, thanks for letting us know!
Next time try Lam Ky Crispy Skin Chicken, much better
Hi there, thanks for the suggestion!😀
You've eaten all of Cabramatta's famous dishes.
Hi @annado1638, glad (and relieved!) to hear that hit hit all the famous dishes, thank you! Any others that you would recommend?
You guys are so fucking cute, this is great content. Well done & keep it up. Subscribed!
😊😊 Thank you, welcome to the channel Michael!
😮
😋
i miss the old cabra when you could not get off the train before some 5t would offer some hammer
Sounds like Cabra was as interesting then as it is now, albeit in a different way!
Love the video but should never put any sauce in the rice paper roll wrap. The meat/seafood has flavour in it already plus the fish sauce. If you want spicy put extra chilli in the fish sauce instead ☺️
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion. We'll know better for next time! 😀
$19 for pho? Thats not cheap
We agree with you, it ain't cheap!
OMG! Why would you ruin the pho by putting the sauce inside? It's a dipping sauce!
😱😱 Oh no! Pho fail! Thanks for letting us know, we'll get that right next time.
You can eat it either way, so it's not a fail, but you should taste the broth first before adding anything.
I am Viet and I dump both hoisin and siracha in the broth. Nothing with it.
@@baldchook Thank you!!
I'm a local for over 40 years. No one calls Cabra "Little Saigon"
It goes to show that you shouldn't believe everything you read on Wikipedia! Thanks for watching.
This vlog is a testament to just how unaffordable Sydney has become. Self assembly rice paper rolls $32. Yikes.Vietnam you'd be lucky to pay $3.
Hi @Izzy9975, you raise a good point. It is pretty crazy to get rice paper rolls for $32, especially in Cabramatta! It was enough for the both of us and tasty but still… Thanks for watching!
What's the average income in Australia vs Vietnam?
@@asjeot That is a good point. We haven't done the maths, but still feel like Australia would be expensive even after adjusting for the differences in income.
But they both lose to Marrickville Pork Roll
Ah yes, we are aware of the Marrickville Pork Roll and will do a Marrickville food vlog in the next couple of months. Do you have any particular shops to recommend, especially for pork rolls?
Lim's Hot Bread Eastwood and Top Ryde Baker's House are good too
