It would be nice if adult Sims can show up at parks and other child friendly lots with their kids, toddlers or infants. One of my biggest issues with the Sims 4 is how lifeless the worlds are especially in comparison to Sims 3 and 2.
To me it seems to the opposite when it comes to comparing TS3 lots and TS4 lots but it could be just my gameplay... TS2 lots are lively, but there's the stupid crashing and flashing purple that's a turn off.
Yeah since I'm switching to PC I hope the modder that created the mod that spawns adult Sims with toddlers on community lots updates the mod for infants

It reminds me of Cats and Dogs, where they wanted to make the best cats and dogs ever, and they SUCCEEDED. It was so weird, watching cradle Sims go straight to child - and even straight to toddler. Finally my sims will reguarly be having children!
I wish they create an age between child an teenager, or between todlers and childs (idk), it's so weird to have an 3-5yo toddler growing stright into an 8-9yo kid and then growing straight to an 16-17yo teen

I'm so excited for this!! I wonder if toddlers will change a little as a result? The 'infants' seem to display a lot of what used to be 'toddler specific' behavior, kind of shadowing the whole 'toddler' phase. I don't necessarily feel like there should be another age between toddler and child, or even child and teen - but they are gaps that can hopefully be addressed later on.
I think their should be a preteen stage between child and teen and the teenagers need to be tweaked because they pretty much look like young adult sims to me. That's the only improvements I would like to see moving forward but it's good they are realizing we need these kind of improvements.
@@morganlondon561 that’s just because of how old teens are in the sims. In most old games they were about 13-15, 16 max. In this version their about 16-18. Which explains why they can drop out or graduate early. Realistically, besides some very important face details, older teens look like adults. The old sims games just got us over adjusted to a teen looking 14 but acting 16.

Well, toddlers in The Sims 4 are more independent than infants. They can walk, eat, talk, climb stairs, potty, and play just fine on their own. But infants need more attention like having adult Sims put them in their cribs, nurse them, tummy time, change their diaper, and carry them.
I wonder if these infants will completely replace babies ? I’d still like my babies in bassinets when they are born and after at least 1 sim day they automatically grow into infants rather than being born as infants lol. I really hope we get pre-teens as the next update for the age group between child and teen. I feel the kids grow way to fast from the child to the teen age but pre-teens would be the perfect in-between! Also hope occult infants show slight behaviour changes ? Like witch infants can make their toys disappear or mermaid infants can blow bubbles or vampire infants hiss or bite into their teddy’s necks or werewolf infants howling/scratching furniture hehehhehje
They’re going to be a separate life stage from babies. The bassinet babies are more like newborns whereas the infants are meant to represent older babies.
The babies are still going to be in the game, infants is just a brand new life stage. Babies are just like newborns. Which makes more sense they are going to keep the babies, because it wouldn’t make sense when a sim baby already started crawling when they literally just being popped out from a Sim’s womb

Yeah, they're going to complain that their babies scream for attention all the time, that they constantly poop and cry and eat, and that bringing up a child is really difficult now that they aren't confined to their crib every moment of the day..
Disappointed, but not surprised. These 'infants' look like slightly scaled down toddlers. They don't look younger at all, they have no baby fat or anything. It looks like they just scaled down the toddler model and gave them a few different animations. We've been asking for better babies for almost a decade and they gave us slightly smaller toddlers...
I agree, the model isn't great , luckily modders might fix the aesthetic issues :/ it annoyed me a lot how they just used the same clothes as toddlers they didn't start from scratch, even if they added some. And the playing with blocks it's the same animation , I dunno it's just a bit rushed still and all the iterations look ugly but we have custom content skins for that I guess.
I think the infants are supposed to represent babies aged between 6 months old and 18 months old, that's why they look close to the toddler life stage, that's probably one of the reasons the developers sized down the toddlers to work with them as a base. We'll see later on in gameplay how it works.
@@calanthemavis 6-18 months is a HUGE gap going from infant though toddler, a single stage can't represent that range. Or at least it shouldn't. A 6 month old baby shouldn't have the exact same face as a nearly 2 year old toddler. Similar sure, but they shouldn't look exactly the same because a lot of growth would have taken place.
I don’t care. I’m just glad we have another interactive life stage! Besides, it makes sense to me. Real toddlers are kind of in that awkward stage between baby and child.

Question - why can't toddlers use stairs unless theyre movement +1 but infants can use stairs?? Or is that just a singular step infants can do? Why cant toddlers do that?
That will likely remain for toddlers. Infants will have the steps before that like sitting up on their own, crawling, etc. Right now toddlers have the end of early life skills so infants will have the mid early life skills.
FINALLY!!!! I never played The Sims 2 because I couldn't afford a computer so I missed out on a lot of gameplay so this has to be the best update ever added to The Sims 4. 🤩🤩🤩 For me anyway.
I am SO excited for this and it looks like they've done a really good job but I do really want preteens! I hate how our Sims go from 6 years old to 16 years old in one birthday!
It would be nice if there was a changing table for base game…your kinda robbing us making us get the dang pack just to get things a realistic game should already have….and we had to wait years just so you could add infants…I hope some people actually decide to use there brains to make this game actually enjoyable and doesn’t steal your money over things we should already have!

Maybe I’m pushing it, but it will be so adorable to have an option to wash them up in the sink. That’s how my parents used to give me and my siblings a bath as babies
It’s gonna be a lot of new infants on my game plays bc most of my teen & young adults have babies that I never aged up and it’s gonna be FUN
I’m hoping that the babies have a complex skill and personality systems that affect who they evolve into as they age up.
