i do have to charge my mask, i wear it since last year, it's the LG Puricare Wearable 1st & 2nd gen (yes i own 2 of them)

Not even that, you can buy a painters mask for cheaper. So what if it doesn't have RGB.
@@Nextrix A lot of the 3M respirator style masks only filter air one the way in; not out.
The much cheaper Nike mask seen at the Olympics would be a better bet especially if they came in black.
Razer were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.

This compared to the Project Hazel mask seems like a huge letdown. Project Hazel had a lot more going for it. To me this screams the fact that Razer may have bitten off more than they could chew in that you can really see where they had to cut cost with the omission of the speech mic, and interior lighting for the wearer's mouth.
The straps look like dressed up, flimsy, highly breakable elastic straps for disposable masks as well. Basically this is overpriced, unnecessary crap no one needs. I have quite a few Razer products, and love them, but this just looks like they developed something "consumer grade" because they couldn't realize what they originally intended. For $100 you can buy a real N95 rated mask.
People are already flipping out that this is a $100 mask. If they did the full microphone + UV cleaning charging case this would have been several hundred dollars more. It's probably not bad of a concept, but the proprietary filters (although I wonder if you can just cut up N95 filters to make your own) drives the question as to what happens when Razer stops making the replacement filters.
@@billyelliotx Agreed. I myself was hoping it'd be $60 max due to their claims of wanting to help people. I forgot about them not making the filters anymore, but as someone who's circumvented things like that in the past, I'd say it probably would only come down to the thickness of the filter material. If the N95 filters are thin enough you could totally use those I bet.
@@demontekdigital1704 I feel if you get n95 sheets you could cut your own filters for less. It would be nice if they made a barebones, fans only model that wouldn't need Bluetooth and a phone app integration to save costs.

I honestly would rather the Nike mask shown at the Olympics for a good Bane impression if it came in black. The Razer mask reminds me of the Cybergoths back in the 2000s with their gas masks but they would've totally loved some RGB with it.

It protects you... it's not a medical mask or a PPE because that would require certifications or an higher level of protection then common masks. It's just legal protection for Razer.
It's more protective then the normal P95 mask you wear, especially because it doesn't move as you speak.
Basically every mask everyone is wearing in public doesn’t do shit about the virus.
I got one and ended up returning it due to the weight. It felt just heavy enough that I could not wait to take it off. The first time I went grocery shopping it just felt like a hassle after about 15min. Its kind of the same thing as if you were wearing a oculus quest to do normal stuff. I felt the mask was also a bit too small for me which added to the uncomfortableness. The fan noise did not bother me but I wish the fans were larger to move more air. I thought the fans would make it feel very easy to breath but it did not help nearly as much as I thought. I hated how the mouth part looked, almost like my mouth was slightly magnified and kinda looked odd. If they could make a v2 that was much lighter while being slightly larger it would be great, but right now it was not great and had to be returned.

I love that it says "Sustainable" on the package... with 3 day replaceable custom filters at $29. What a joke.
10 sets, each for 3 days. It's not much more then a normal P95 mask, and being less material is more sustainable by definition.
How does the vocal clarity / volume of this thing compare with a typical cloth mask?
But how is it compared to airflow cases?
You only briefly mentioned the Zepher not working well with glasses, is there any more you can share about that? I haven't found a mask option that keeps my glasses from fogging up and at this point I'd pay more than double the cost of the Zephyr for something that'd keep my glasses clean and clear of fog.
what happens if the battery leaks or bursts
This is something equivalent to EA making masks, oh you want filters? unlock them at 29.99 to your existing 99 dollar mask. lol

Thank you for deliverying this review! I guess Razer when they have build the prototype, they've realized are too much flows. So I guess Razer just end up delivering more cosmetic item that can actually do some job, but not as daily driver mask.
btw... How was your trip to Bulgaria?
it is a neat concept. I wish it used some of the existing cartridge type filters or if there is a standard type of filter disk.
With this mask you need a lightsaber.
Great cinematic shots. Mine fits my little face just fine and I like it. I like the Xupermask better but they serve different purposes.

Thanks for this review. I opted out of this, after following it all is this time, considering all the changes they made from the promises of Hazel and their awful launches. I was expecting Hazel to be top quality and cost me $300 with a reservation list to assure equitable distribution; this was a disappointment and a badly botched delivery. I'll just get N95 masks; maybe someone will make a good reusable one.
N95 aren't meant to be usable, once you enter an environment that's contaminated you are supposed to discard them. The next closest things would be like n95 painters masks with the replaceable side filters, but even they need to be thoroughly wiped down if you plan to use them against covid. 3M makes some

Was initially going to buy this for the voice amp due to the type of work im in but that went out the window. Also the filter replacement price,. yikes.

That looks really uncomfortable and inconvenient. LG showed a mask at this year's CES, it was white and small, but I don't know if it ever came out.
I feel as though you’ve forgotten to answer the most basic question, does it make breathing while wearing a mask easier than your typical face mask? That’s honestly my greatest draw to the product.

It is kind of ridiculous that you cannot wear it with glasses, as there is no fan removing the hot air from the inside of the mask. I thought that it might be a solution for foggy glasses. It is like a case with only intake fans and bad airflow.
This would be a cool thing to bring to Clubs or Rave's tbh. Imagine bringing this to Ultra-Fest.

This started like a project for making a cyberpunk mask with potentially more features than expected like voice modification and rgb voice-responsiveness or mouth holograms / visual filters.
It just ended up with less features than announced and is, in the end, just a bulky and useless reusable plastic mask.
Why? Just why?

It’s perfect to wear when going to rave festivals
For people that have deviated septum(bad nose design) like me, masks like these really help altho i use the 'purely' mask from xiaomi which I paid $20 for. I love it, specially because we still have to wear masks inside gyms in Brazil. Yes It's not like not wearing a mask but the fans inside the mask really help when you are exercising/wearing glasses plus the mask is very light. You can remove all the filters but it renders the mask completly useless for the user(protection wise), but not for the other people since the fan is sucking air from outside to inside.

now I know what I want for Xmas :D
as I am a mountain biker I am using Respro Ultralight mask with Urban filter. but doing intense activity breathing is not as good, but as I have pollen allergy, and now the virus, I wear a mask, unless I am far away from people and pollen. But the Razer Zephy would looks like it wouyld be too big and not work for me as it's too big, to wear with a full face helmet.
I was honestly interested in this when it was first teased, but what came out seems so much worse now :(

If you turn off all the RGB it just looks like a very robust mask and does not look bad at all IMO, the straps could be a little bit more aesthetically pleasing though. They trippin' with the price of the filters, just make the filters yourself using an N95 Mask lol.
seems like youre better off with a regular respirator... its about the size of one and heavier. theyre basically selling you the filters and thats where theyll make their money. with that said seems like you could just cut your own .

Lack of the mic is the only letdown for me. It's expensive and flashy, just like anything else with RGB puke on it so that doesn't bother me. And since my normal facemask with a normal, washable cloth filter that I sewed together has done well for me so far, I don't see why I can't just cut some small cloth circles to shove in there and wash after every use instead of buying n95 replacements. Or maybe even buy a huge sheet of polypropylene fabric from Amazon and cut circles from that.

I think the $100 isn’t as bad as $30 proprietary filters. They could have easily just used normal n95 filters and maybe provide like a cutting tool to adapt any replacable filter for next to nothing. Or just use the typical shape ones that are also easier to breathe through. But no, they reeeaaaly need to use special black $30 filters.

... otherwise it seems utterly useless plastic junk. If it was something like 29.99$ - i am sure a lot of people would buy one for fun. For 100 however - i believe Razer is making a mistake - very few buy spontanously for fun for 100+

Just bought one on ebay, looking forward to it but got took for a mug, $100 even with shipping to the UK where I am would have been less than I paid, still excited though hoping to use this instead of my Xupermask

You can start making lipo battery. That looks real no holes in the bottom of mask for air flow. We don't have to ask why there filters. Real hmm.
Great review... except for that small detail that you're wearing the strap completely wrong my dude. It's supposed to go around the ear, not below it.
They really missed an opportunity to put in an LCD where the the plastic is for the mouth.
