I'm a high school student in new Zealand and I'm saving up for a better mic because they are very expensive to get here my current one is a cheap one of Amazon but it sounds all right after following your guide to reaper plugins video thanks for the help 😊
I'll stick to my full GOXLR. Imo it is still a solid piece of kit. The only time I had an issue with it was when I first got it and the bugs got fixed quickly and TC Helicon Support was great.
Same. I have Full GoXLR with the SM7B. I had an issue with mine where I put custom text on the LCD screen that was too long and it literally flipped the image and inverted the background color by itself. Super annoying and then long story short, it messed up more stuff when trying to fix it. I turned off the GoXLR and turned it back on(I turned my surge protector off/on) and it fixed it once I powered GoXLR + PC. There’s another issue I had which is my cell antenna in my iPhone XR, when next to the GoXLR or any other cable, it would make a constant buzzing thumping sound. Example, I put my phone touching the GoXLR and then tap the screen to wake it up, it would make a very loud 4x thumping sound, after it would make a constant buzzing thumping sound but not as loud. Figured out the problem was my cell antenna in the phone was the issue and that turning off the phone obviously fixed it or turning on Airplane Mode which disabled the cell antenna in it and it stopped that way too.
Interesting comparison. But please, mute your background music when recording different interfaces, it's almost impossible to determine a difference in quality when you have the music running in the background.
This feels like a really great starting point for this device. The bones and guts are definitely note worthy. I think that once Razer watches all these reviews they can make all the adjustments in Synapse and have a next level product
But...they've had 3+ years to learn from goxlr and basically ripped off the design and function. The software needed to be FIRE for this product to actually be relevant, especially given the higher price point. Trusting razer to make the software side better is a gamble I wouldn't personally take.
Yeah, I do have issues with Synapse every once in awhile but nothing really experience breaking for me. I'd hope that with a product like this that's deep in Synapse functionality they'd throw more resources at it. Time will tell
I feel like the GoXLR is what everyone keeps going back to compare new gear. And there are some that come close or better for specific cases, but the fact that we keep comparing to something that is no longer “new”. Looking forward to what’s to come in the next year or two, I have a feeling a new champion might be coming.
if Astro was never bought by Logitech, they probably would have released a dope mixer. The astro mixamp was/is already used by tons of creators due to its capabilities. With these new products, its been passed up very quickly and looks so outdated now.
There is not much choice if there isn’t many other options out there that’s as close to this as the GoXLR. Plus you always want to compete against the superstars to see if they’ve outshined the old and most of the time they don’t. Which is why he’s even using a Shure SM7B, a 21 year old bad ass
Just a heads up for everyone for an issue I encountered that had a very easy fix but my mind went to much complicated places to resolve lol. Plugging my headset into the front headset port, I noticed the volume was extremely low even with the sound levels adjusted to 100 in every possible place I could think of. I changed the USB port I used on the back of my PC to another port and everything was back to normal, could hear everything loud and clear. I almost returned this product from the frustration I felt trying to figure out why the volume was so low =(. Hope this helps someone out there dealing with that problem.
Yo I'm having this problem and I'm losing my fucking mind trying to figure it out. No one else seems to have this issue, I can't find anything on Google about it. I'll try a different port, thank you so much!
If I gave up on my GoXLR, I’d do a Beacn Mix/Create and a Scarlett Solo before I did this. Seems clunky having to bounce around in Synapse, definitely clipped, and the voice changer seems super janky.
Crazy how elgato will destroy all this new tech with a stream deck that has knobs or faders. I'll be waiting patiently elgato.

I have the Loupedeck, StreamDeck and Touch Portal. And those knobs on the Loupedeck is enough for me to have the StreamDeck unplugged. Another option is to use a PC Panel, but even with the right software, that device is missing the LCD screens, and the RGB is just not a good enough status indicator.
For that price, you'd have expected some proper good QA but that just seems to not happen and seems to be a regular occurrence now with Razer's software. Plus considering there is better and cheaper alternatives it doesn't bode well
Razer did exactly what they have become known to do. make something lesser and charge more for it and rely or hard core fans of the brand to keep them from going belly up.
the light and mixer from Razer arent as good and I'll still probably stick with elgato for now but I'm so glad Elgato finally have some real competition in the streamer space. hopefully this will get both companies to improve their products in the future. maybe we'll even see some new contenders in the space.
As a razer fanboy I’ve been very disappointed in the key light an this mixer. I had high hope for this product but I’m probably going to just have to wait an hope they fix synapse an go on sale or get the goxlr or wave mic
Been using Razer for over 6 years now. Synapse has always been trash. I don't think they'll ever fix the software even though it's almost always the issue with any of their products
i agree. i dont have it, nor do i know anyone who has it. HOWEVER. Harris Heller once said that streambeats is the best copyright free music that I could use for my livestreams and youtube videos and that was true, therefore, I trust in and agree with Harris Heller.
So this is probably going to sound a like Im being rude, but I am asking in all honesty. Whats stopping you from launching an audio interface? Over the years Ive been watching the channel, Ive come to value your opinions on hardware and items, and I feel like you have a really solid knowledge base. So why not take that knowledge and us it to create an interface thats designed by streamers?
I noticed that the voice changer settings might be able to be mapped as a macro for other Razer devices. Not saying it would work that way, but certainly easier than holding the mute button for two seconds. By the way, bought the BEACN Mix Create solely on your videos about it. Never been happier.
Tried this product and immediately returned it. It played havoc with all of my other audio settings. Highly suggest getting a mixer that is not software dependent!
and seeing....HEARING this.....i am still confirmed after 20+ Years....that Razer Audio.....Mic Hardware....is always a pain in the Ear......sorry but crazy how they bring messed up Audio from theire Headset Mics to a XLR Device......"how to let your 500$ Mic, sound like our 2$ Gaming Headset Mics" -_- i really like some Products from Razer, but i will again move WIDLEY AROUND their Audio Stuff.....
What I have learned from this video, the Razer RGB Key Light video, and my own personal experience with Razer products (I love my DeathAdder mouse still) is that Razer needs to put together a serious development team for their software. Synapse needs a major overhaul and needs to be uniform across all devices. When you add a new Razer product it should just load the needed module for that given product and all the Razer products should be getting along fine within the single app without any hassle.
your mic on the razer sounded way better than the goxlr. Probably shouldn't monitor audio with garbage gaming headphones. But yeah idk why they'd think they'd get 250 for this when the xlr mini is cheaper and does the same thing.
I gotta return my Razer mixer tomorrow it’s upsetting to drop a mixer that doesn’t sync with existing USB Razer mics on synapse especially when 95% of Razer microphones are usb and what’s the 5% you ask the Razer Seiren Pro XLR that’s doesn’t work with it anyways lol also I can’t use my wireless headset through the mixer either the software ruined a good idea and still no dedicated XLR microphone designed by Razer but you drop a mixer for $250 that doesn’t work with anything Razer go figure
I think the key shifting and the vocal fader could be used in some edge cases. Like using a radio or some other audio device as line in for karaoke or something? I dunno. But, maybe!
It looks cool, but Razer better be ready to drop that price by a large margin if they want to compete with the GoXLR Mini (the GoXLR Mini on Amazon is $45 cheaper at the time of writing). Razer's software is notoriously buggy and unoptimized, so they better have an incredible bit of software if they want us to pay extra for essentially the same product.
Adding this as a helpful tip since it was a point of contention: you can go into Effects and set separate profiles for various effects settings (monster, Gollum, clown) and then save a combo keypress for each profile. Triggering the effects that way is immediate, no losing that moment. And, you get many versions.
After using it for a year, I...ABSOLUTELY do not recommend buying it..... it's been causing so many instability issues for my pc and razer hasn't been the most helpful... it's a waste of money in my opinion.
People keep saying Razer is like Apple for gamers, but in reality Apple usually only make products that they KNOW they can bring something to the table. Razer on the other hand tries to do EVERYTHING, but usually they come up with things that are LEGIT overpriced. The light for 100 bucks more than Elgato's Keylight and this for almost 50 bucks more than the Go XLR...not even mentioning the TRASH software that you get stucked with... I really wanted like Razer, but they really don't make it easy.
another over priced razer product that doesn't work correctly and it'll stop working after 12 months also like the rest of their products i'd rather have the XLR every day and thats what i will be buying
theres no good pretending Razer are ever going to make Synapse not terrible. It will remain lacklustre and just not good enough to compete unless you're a diehard razer fanboy.
I know the video is almost one year old, but I just looked up prices for XLR Interface and the GoXLR mini the price skyrocked close to 500$ CND on Amazon I would consider the razer for beind less then 300$ but some features makes the goXLR mini worth the price
I'll give Razer an A for effort. As you said, presentation was spot on. Looks good. Cleaner profile than my GoXLR Mini and I actually like the bigger mute and bleep buttons. But for years Razer has been plagued by their really crappy Synapse software. I barely trust it to do things with one of my mice, let alone complicated audio routing and mixing. That's like asking a child to build the next space shuttle LOL. If they only put as time and effort into a complete overhaul of Synapse as they do with their other products, they might have had a homerun here.
Yikes, have to say the fingernails are a little distracting my friend. Perhaps that's the point, I don't know. I like to paint my fingernails, or not, whatever color I choose :). You should be able to do that too but as the viewer, it just seems weird. Razer mixer is a knock off. Even if it was cheaper they would have a tough time selling it. Brand fans don't change unless there is a compelling reason. I won't be buying this product or the key lights from Razer. Obviously, all Elgato products integrate seamlessly with streamdeck. Streaming is a tough market to enter unless your product can demonstrate significant advantages. Thanks for the vid!
Your mic monitoring was too quiet because your Playback Mix was turned down considerably. Your mic was clipping because you set the gain too high to compensate for the Playback Mix volume that you didn't notice was too low. There's some really valid criticism here, but I feel like you talked a lot about the mic clipping when that was a self-inflicted problem
Is there any USB audio interface that has TWO USB outputs? (1 for gaming PC, 1 for streaming PC) so that we can use it when we use both PCs OR either PC without the need of switching on the other PC, just for the mic input. This device will be awesome. Coz sometimes i just want to use the streaming PC but i do need the mic but have to switch on the other PC. Which is... U get my point.
I have stopped buying Razer stuff just because of their abysmal drivers and Synapse. I must be stupid cause the first mouse I ever bought from Razer had the same problem my last Razer mouse had. And I think I bought them with atleast 10 years apart. (problem was that sometimes the mouse was not responding and I had to unplug and plugin the usb cable...) Synapse is just so bad.
Seems like Razer are late to the party and picked a gift up at the gas station… I don’t get why Pioneer are not interested in the streamer market 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly I will never buy a Razer product again because of how shitty Synapse is. I was so happy when I finally replaced the last Razer product I had, and could finally uninstall that dumpster fire...
I stream from xbox one to razer ripsaw to laptop. I have razer blackshark pro v2 r6 editon. I use slobs. My partychat is not coming through on stream. It has worked before. Any tips for that.
From my experience everything that razer does breaks, doesn't work properly or is just a shit experience overall with a horribly high price tag. Seems like everyones mums buying them razer shit for xmas is keeping them afloat lol.
Did go xlr just rip off any number of companies that make hybrid mixers and have been for the past 10 years. Did they rip off any companies who have been making mixers for the past 60 years +
before watching the video, I assume the answer is yes, Rezor is a ripoff company. like I said, the only unique thing they have created themselves is the left handed razor naga mouse and they don't make it anymore, so now they have nothing that is unique to them, now on to watching the video. 8:35 low quality stuff as expected, you can't really get it to where you want it, very disappointing.
Sorry. Been from an anolog mixer to Scarlette 2i2, to GoXLR and back to a better anolog Mixer and thats where i stay. I prefer to have knob control. Not a fan of software controlled hardware.
Razer really gotta think of something new. Like I love razer I got a razer keyboard and mouse. But all there other products are just clones that are way over priced. I wouldnt buy anything razer other then a keyboard and mouse and at that ive went through 3 nagas where ive had the same problem with all of them i just have to have the 12 buttons. Seems to me Razer is spending bottom dollar to make their products and charge 100% more then it cost them to make it.
Really love your video's ma dude, but could you please (next time) cut off the music you have in the background. Don't see the reason why i want to hear a music when you are testing the amp/mic
I added the pcpanel to the wave xlr and I really love that setup. I know its sucks to spend another 100 bucks but I stream alot and love the wavelink software and just needed the sliders and now I got them.
Hello Alpha Gaming, I am reaching out to you because I have a friend who is a streamer, and she is looking to acquire sponsorships. Would happen to know a list of companies that are willing to give her a chance.
classic razer move: copy a successful product, but half-ass it, and the software support gets dropped in about a year so people have to purchase the new revision for the bugfixes and promised features. only their mice and keyboards are somewhat usable.
I literally just want a go xlr with sub mixes and possibly a more remastered design and possibly one more xlr input for possible use for podcast for 2 and you have one of the best selling xlr mixes/streaming product on the planet for years. I don't think there has been one. Of course you can argue there are better products but they don't have the same inputs/outputs. a pink and green port plus xlr is extremely huge for people
Ima be honest razor has been doing hella different products I haven’t expected and I like it. I wouldn’t mind getting the beacon create but to me it’s just ugly lol it’s my main issue.
What Mic/Audio system are you using right now on your stream? What features do you wish it had?
Pod mic with goxlr mini

Sorry if I missed it but have you opened it to see if it’s tc helicon hardware inside?

Pretty sure this is DOA, at least in the UK, the price is £249... which is more than double the GoXLR mini...
Think it might be similar to their webcams and we will see the price drop pretty quickly.
It'll be $200 in a few months. The GoXLR Mini is $217 on Amazon right now.

They should really make their "new" devices better than "old" stuff

if Astro was never bought by Logitech, they probably would have released a dope mixer. The astro mixamp was/is already used by tons of creators due to its capabilities. With these new products, its been passed up very quickly and looks so outdated now.
I’d say that it’s because the creators of the GoXLR set the bar pretty damn high, and no one has been able to beat it.

I got skillshare just yesterday. So now I see so many ads I could of learned
Try the MAONOCASTER AU-AM100..,,under $200 beats that razer crap both in value and utility
(problem was that sometimes the mouse was not responding and I had to unplug and plugin the usb cable...)
Synapse is just so bad.
Harris, could we ship a YoloBox Mini to you?(Release soon, smaller, with 1 HDMI at more affordable $699)
I know everyone is giving opinions on this but I’m more intrigued by the hoodie 🤣 where did you get it or was it sent to you from youtube?
Seems like Razer are late to the party and picked a gift up at the gas station… I don’t get why Pioneer are not interested in the streamer market 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly I will never buy a Razer product again because of how shitty Synapse is. I was so happy when I finally replaced the last Razer product I had, and could finally uninstall that dumpster fire...
U still love my PC PANEL PRO with my Voicemeeter 🔥
Just get RME and never have to buy another audio thing for like 20 years.
I stream from xbox one to razer ripsaw to laptop. I have razer blackshark pro v2 r6 editon. I use slobs. My partychat is not coming through on stream. It has worked before. Any tips for that.
15:00 maybe for copyright issues? Idk lmao
From my experience everything that razer does breaks, doesn't work properly or is just a shit experience overall with a horribly high price tag. Seems like everyones mums buying them razer shit for xmas is keeping them afloat lol.
I'm not sure what it would take for me to swap my PC Panel and 18i20, but considering Razer's software history.... definitely a pass on this one lol.
Did go xlr just rip off any number of companies that make hybrid mixers and have been for the past 10 years. Did they rip off any companies who have been making mixers for the past 60 years +
Most Razer Audio hardware is pretty horrible!
There are similar products from Professional Audio brands with better features and I bet even cheaper!!!
Hoping you compare the both software. Is razer software reliable? Cause you mentioned last time razer software is not good..
before watching the video, I assume the answer is yes, Rezor is a ripoff company. like I said, the only unique thing they have created themselves is the left handed razor naga mouse and they don't make it anymore, so now they have nothing that is unique to them, now on to watching the video.
8:35 low quality stuff as expected, you can't really get it to where you want it, very disappointing.
razer just said: fuck it, im just copy homework from everybody, first was elgato and now tc helicon
Razer software is known to be bad. I'd also argue their hardware too like how often my old deathadders broke.
Elgato need this. Think about it, that way you wouldn't have to click on the app to turn down the bar
I got rid of the wave xlr for this reason and got a goxlr. I will say the wave software is fantastic, just need better hardware.
I wouldn’t mind getting the beacon create but to me it’s just ugly lol it’s my main issue.
would you review Fifine products, given their sudden popularity and affordability? Im on the fence to get started with those.
Does this unit work with guitars? Looking for an interface for my music stuff
Would def not have background music when trying to compare during a test, just saying
Elephant in the room... fingers . i hear nothing you are saying. Fingers. Well Phantom power fingers bla bla meter mixer fingers .
i use rodecaster pro with shure SM7B rn lol
