Everyone says Lies of P is the best Souls-Like

- This past year I have played through every single Soulsborne game.
Yep that's right I've played through Dark souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark souls 3, Sekrio, Bloodborne, and even Elden Ring.
Now everybody told me to play a souls like called "Lies of P"
Shadow of the Erdtree come out within a month and I can't even contain myself from the excitement.

How did you get 300 hrs with only 4 completions? That's the same as me but it took me 100hrs for 4 full playthroughs.
@Christopher-ro1dl Don't give up then. You are almost done. If you are having a hard time make sure you have the correct defensive parts. These reduce A LOT of damage and heavily decrease status effect build up. Also try using consumables if you still need something to get you over the line. There's only 1 more boss after Simon and it's really good so keep going.

For the Fulminis arm, you need to actually release it after charging it to have it "do something" ;)

what makes lies of p so good is that it was a day one game pass title and i propably wouldn't have even played this if it wasn't for it being on game pass day one. one of the best soulslikes i've ever played and the only soulslike that i've played that actually feels like it was made by from software

@@olber289 The level design was underwhelming for sure but the boss(es) kinda made up for it.
@@olber289yeah they kinda choked a little with the abbey but every game has its low points. Wasn’t the worst but wasn’t great.
Edit: also that’s just the abbey itself, the bosses there are all really good imo.
@@olber289I actually don’t mind the Abbey at all but I get why people dislike it. It’s really long and feels like it should be shorter than it is. It still introduces new enemy types though which helps spice things up.
This is still a very good game not only for its mechanics but also for this ambiance and I’m waiting for the dlc !!

@@edmarcamy not a soulslike ...Even sekiro is not a soulslike simply because it involves parrying whereas Dark Souls and even Elden Ring wants to be more of a hack and slash and patience...Just my humble opinion..Might be totally wrong, thats how I felt...
I love hearing all the sigma gamers that talk about how they beat the game pre patch and now it’s way too easy and no one can ever reach the level of achievement they reached even though the devs only changed some minor things in a couple of bosses. 😂
Soulslike community is pretty sad overall..
You said that, but you never face high hp buff manus, that fight pre patch was the longest I done in my life. You kids face bosses in easy mode.

I'd say starting with the wolong weapon is a much bigger nerf to the games difficulty
Lies of P pre-patch was harder but nothing out of extraordinary, still, post-patch is the better version, they fix some clunky things of the original version
Loved the story in this game as well. The way they dive into what it means to be human, and what it means to lie.
Early on, you meet a blind woman who is suffering from the petrification disease, and looking for her baby. When you find the "baby", it turns out it's actually just a doll. When you return to the woman, she's overjoyed to have her baby back. You are then given the option of pointing out that she's holding a doll, or lying to her in order to give her happiness in what are surely her final moments.
The game is full of little decisions like these, and I thought it was a great way of turning Pinnochio's concept of "do not lie in order to become human" on its head. We as humans are able to see the emotional nuance a situation, and react accordingly, even if it may be a lie.
I discovered your videos this week, and got a lot of fun. lies of P is my favorite soulslike game. I am so glad you played it 🥳. Now just wait for the DLC

something i loved about your gameplay was the fact that you actually parried, a lot of ppl who first get into this game ignore parries until like the 4th chapter of the game

They play the fight wrong and then blame the fight
This is genuinely one of the, if not the best "gank" style boss
Because you only ever fight one of them if you play it the way you're supposed to
First big bro, then when his health hits 75%, the girl jumps in
Big bro will back off and only occasionally will lunge at you, but that's with a really easy to hear audio queue so you'll basically never get hit by that if you're even remotely decent at dodging
So you fight the girl until she jumps out
Then you fight big bro again until his health hits 50%, the bucket head guy jumps in
Big bro backs off again
Fight bucket head guy until he jumps out
Repeat again with big bro until he's 25% and rabbit dude jumps in
Repeat repeat of earlier steps
It's such a cool fight, they respect the 1v1 if you actually play it like this
If you only focus on the big guy, then yes, all of them will jump in at the health intervals I pointed out already
So then you're fighting a 1v4, and it's entirely your own fault

As someone who has beaten the game before and after the nerfs, you are still a certified gamer for how you were handling these bosses. Even post nerf, 3 attempts for archbishop is impressive. They essentially reduced health of a few tough bosses and slowed down windups/timings on them, but I still think you are clearly just very good at the game

I've done 6 playthrough on my Xbox and currently on my 4th playthrough on ps, so i can proudly say this is the best soulslike

04:50 Here we can clearly see Sekiro's parrying time. In Lies of P, parry window is when the animation hits you. This information really helped me in both games.
FromSoft games are like the most incredible thing on a first playthrough but my enjoyment drops massively on consecutive playthroughs. I always thought it was because I just knew whats going to happen but that cant be the problem since in Lies of P I could start my like 7th playthrough rn and still have as much as fun as ever. it doesnt have that magical feeling I had during my first playthroughs of BB, Sekiro and Elden Ring but it feels more consistently enjoyable long term, anybody feel like that too?

You're not alone. I've got 100+ hrs on Lies of P with the platinum for the game and while I love all the Souls games I don't enjoy them as much after the first time. Still very fun to play but not magical like the beginning playthrough. With lies of P the subsequent playthroughs have felt a bit less fun but the drop off has never been as much as with fromsoft games.
Lies of P has the most satisfying charge attack and staggering the shit out of bosses never gets boring. I still haven't had my second playthrough but definitely will do it.
the dodge mechanic sucks bro. idk how you guys find it enjoyable. I left it after 2nd boss. I will only stick to fromsoft games for now.
@fitflix856 It doesn't, you just can't spam it like in fromsoft titles and this game is more parry heavy so if you're bad at parrying you're gonna have a hard time.
I'm not a huge Souls player, mainly Elden Ring, but I have absolutely LOVED Lies of P
I sincerely hope you've figured out how to use fulminis, it's OP asf
Also, try matching elements: lightning for puppets, fire for carcasses (cod zombies), acid for humans, it makes a huge difference in the long run

Everytime i play dark souls elden ring, i feel something is missing till i go play lies of p, and that went all I feel satisfied. So many varieties in that game, and story is far waaay more good and straightforward.

Lies of P really got me into the dark souls franchise
I love this game so much. The only thing that is missing and is present in fromsoft games is deeper mystery and exploration (altough I personally do not like how confusing some fromsoft games are - DS3 exploration is enough for me).

No joke, Lies of P is too good. Even gotten the true ending ‘Rise of P’ for my first playthrough. For a way to explain what is weak to which element: human is weak to fire and Acid, Puppets are weak to Electric and Acid, Carcasses (zombies) are weak to fire.

The big guy just always needs to be dealt with-you can’t ever ignore him because he lunges far, can’t be staggered, and does a lot of damage
The King in Yellow and P2 are honestly one of the best souls like bosses I've fought

Do the weeping woman quest line. Go to the stargazer called inside the house at Elysian boulevard and go back to the place where you fought the giant cop puppet she is at the top.

Lies of P is a phenomenal game! Absolutely brilliant and beautiful world great story combat is too good the katana quickly became one of my all time favorite weapons in any game 💯

I really think the amount of complaining was extremely overblown. They really over did it with the nerfs, if anything. I think the only things they should've changed was maybe some weapon buffs and buff the summons and they did do that. It's frustrating that a loud minority can change the game for the worse and players like me that enjoyed the game before have no way to go back to how it was before.
the nerfs wasn't that much, all they did was lower the health of some bosses

Agreed, I played the game for the first time after the nerfs and I’m afraid to say that I one shot manus & puppet..very disappointed with the ending part of the game being obviously nerfed to the ground, while bosses before then felt fairly challenging.
Game is still amazing though
@@Visaj. but how do you know that it's not just you being better than the first time?, the end bosses are still really challenging and no easier than any DS3 boss. I only played it for the first time a month ago.
I was craving a good souls game and Lies of P suprised me. Loved it. Best souls-like by a non-FromSoftware studio.

Lies of p on release before nerf had me on the verge of tears easily the hardest non soulsborn I’ve ever played

I've played pretty much all the 3d soulslike and out of all of them this is the only one I could say even comes close to the experience you would get from true Fromsoft game.
I enjoyed this game, especially the final boss phase 2. Yeah that’s when I felt alive 😂

I've stuck with fromsoft for years. But I can proudly say that Lies of P tops my favorite fromsoft games. I enjoyed lies of P so much that I pre ordered and have been playing since day 1. This became my favorite game ever made and I love it so much lol. I'm glad to see that others are still trying it out now. 10/10 game.

Right after King of the Puppets is when the game gets noticeably harder.
Fulminus is crazy strong. It almost worked everytime you used it. A millisecond longer and you wouldve loved it

Bought it 2 days ago, needed 25 hours for my first playthrough, i think this game is much easier than sekiro or bloodbourne. Needed 2-3 trys for every boss, but the musik and atmosphere is amazing in this game.

Was it much harder ? I thought they nerfed the HP, and nothing else. Didn’t they just fine tune guard, block and dodge so that’s it’s more intuitive ?
