The first technique I learned in Ultimate was LB (Lag Blaming) which is where you blame all your shortcomings on the opposing players' internet connection.
Some time stamps for me to go back to: 1:00 - shield frames / out of shield options 1:30 - Parry (Perfect shield) 1:51 - Angling shield 2:07 - Dash dancing/Foxtrotting options 2:51 - Full run options 3:09 - RAR 3:24 - Pivot grab
Man I took my first tech class in 7th grade and my teacher would throw chairs because he was mad that the 7th graders in the class couldn’t understand what slope was because it was first properly introduced in 8th grade.
Thank you so much for putting these all into one video, I’ve been looking for so many of these things like the RAR, wavebounce, and the dash attack cancel Two things that helped me out a lot by the way: if you run up to a ledge, stop quickly and hold up, then do a semicircle down, you'll drop directly to ledge if you do it right. It makes it really easy to go down to edgeguard and ledge trump The other one is when you start dashing, if you want to shield just keep holding forward and you'll pull shield up a lot faster than if you were to stop moving and start shielding
I’m so happy that you guy have made this video, I’ve already watched all your video on these techniques, but it’s nice for new players that got the game in quarantine
My first tech I discovered by accident was the instant dash attack. I'm awful at pressing up without jumping, so up tilts were impossible. I switched the smash stick to tilt as well when I went to turn of left stick jump. First time I went to run and attack at the same time with the new stick input, I dashed attacked and realized there had to be more to the c stick stuff. Thank you for this video
First technique I learned on this list was Wave Dashing back in the Melee days. Luigi could slide the length of any stage, and it was less laggy. A backwards wavedash put people in perfect range for a Samus pistol whip 💪
Omg, I didn't know you could shortcut short hop with 2 jump buttons, I knew about shortcut short hop arial tho. I had to set every button to attack other than left trigger to force myself to learn, so I literally couldn't do this haha, time to re map. Thanks great guide man
Wavedashing has some specific uses. Rosalina could cancel her dash attack into a nair but the nair could also be canceld into a wavedash so that luma can be desynced from rosalina temporarily without rosalina having to detether luma which has a lot of uses
onlineplays are also one of the good experience to adapt each person's habits also lag is one of the patience similar as mentality, psychological influence.i am regular ssbu player playing with joycon well some techs arent fit as some controllers but this is just my opinon, trying to conducting other methods to interacting it
so this i would say is very advanced but im a sheik main so i learned sometimes its ok if you get hit off but what you can do is first throw a grenade with side b so stop ledge guarding, then if there is a wall with collision to cling to it, then no matter if theres a wall or not you use the recovery move to get to the ledge because you threw a grenade there and if you dont need to go that far go to the fish move thing, and if your launched up go to the edge part of the stage and tilt the control stick into the direction of the rest of it and hit down b to spike, if you do it right you can hit the opponent to start the combos
The first thing I learned was B reverse (and short hop aerials if you count that). I'm still having a lot of trouble consistently RARing in full speed games. I can do the command just not always land the attack. Smash is the only fighting game of any kind I've been really invested in and it is hard to get decent at.
The first I learn was the rar and it took me half a year to get really good. I'm really proud about how clean they look even if I screw up every now and then
Thank you for the video! I want to know how to block the recovering of my opponents by launching them down before they can reach the edge of the stage.
I'm not sure if its a known tech or not, i've never seen anyone do it for now but you can b reverse with roy or chrom on the ground and you slide quite a bit. I've manage to catch some rolls that way. You have to be in the running animation to cancel the turnaround. The tech is like this : run forward, hit back with left stick to start turnaround animation, do a neutral b, and go forward. To do it consistently i hit forward, then just go halfway back with the stick to start the turnaround and while i start to go forward again i hit b while the stick goes through neutral position.
There’s more people who do than don’t. You should also have a high enough iq to discern which buttons on whatever controller you’re using correspond with what they instruct.
The first advanced technique I learned was the perfect shield. I did it by mistake back on melee and didn't understand it back then but then doing it in ultimate
I don’s know if this is advanced or not but I have learned how to predict when somebody is going to use a move without sound. I always have my volume off. I also have learned to combo Shulk’s Forward Air into a Forward Smash while in any Monado Art except Speed and Jump or without one active. It can do massive damage or be a kill confirm if you time it right. However it is not safe on shield but can be safe if spaced properly against certain opponent’s. I have also learned how to attack cancel my aerials using Shulk which took some time. Fast Falling is another. Pivot Grabbing I apparently already knew how to do before I knew that it was a term. Apparently a lot of the techniques I use are considered advanced ones which I did not know were considered advanced.
Ledge trumping and tether cancelling?Spotdogde canceling smash attacks? Shield tilting SDI? Sticky Ledge Running? Footstool slide landing? Dash cancelled pivot grabs? C’mon guys, up your game. This is only the tip of the Iceberg.
The first technique I learned in Ultimate was LB (Lag Blaming) which is where you blame all your shortcomings on the opposing players' internet connection.
Lmao
I blame it on the game favoring them when they constantly just I-frame my attacks by running or jumping into them
To be fair, get a LAN adapter.
The first advanced technique I learned in Smash Ultimate was recovering. Took years of hard work.
and years of research
Wind Turbine just melee
Jabbing is more difficult
@@windturbine6796 YUP XD
Walking is difficult
The first advanced technique I learned was RAR in Sm4sh, I was so happy to use my bair consistenly at the time
Dont mind me
3:23 pivot grab
3:53 roll grab
4:25 dash walk
9:06 special reverse
I minded you, thank you for this 🙏

Still working on those Easter baskets I guess
2 years and still not finished...
Keitaro: Whats Tech?
Me: Tech is he subject that i failed in middle school.

Ladies and gentlemen, we got ‘em
😂yooooo I’m weak

..... Waited for whom?
I thought he did lol pretty sure she was turning 18 that night?

Bro watching this a year later and being greeted by keitaro is eye opening

This is exactly what we all needed I have been looking for more advanced tech I have been on a tech grind.
You should also check out Izaw's "Art of Smash Ultimate" series.
They forgot easy drop and some more things
That music in the background is so nice 👌 6:39
i just learned how to short hop earlier this morning lol. my world has expanded, it's really exciting.
Ever since I accidentally moved while air dodging near the ground I can’t get enough of the tech rolls, it’s such a clean evasive maneuver!
Wavedashing, short hop, fast fall, and turnaround special. Cuz I'm old.
The dash cancel, (boost grab) can also be performed by pressing shield instead of grab aswell! -> + a + (shield or grab)
My first “advanced” tech that I learned was, well tech
The OG tech. Tech after getting knocked to the ground. Tech normal, tech left, and tech right.
How to tech witch took me a lot longer than I liked to admit
First proguides smash vid i can confidently say is well made
First technique I learned on this list was Wave Dashing back in the Melee days. Luigi could slide the length of any stage, and it was less laggy. A backwards wavedash put people in perfect range for a Samus pistol whip 💪
Wolf main. First advanced technique I focused on was Angling wolf flash for both attacks and stage recovery.
This video does a better job of explaining the options than any other Ive found, even a few series worth of videos.
I remeber feeling soo proud wen i mastered short hop into nair into fast fall
Well, yeah, i mean, is not that easy tbh
I'm so used to seeing Keitaro be a joker that hearing him in an instructional tone is jarring as hell.
The most important tech is inviting your platonic love and smashing her to death with charizard to show her the dominant dragon.
Omg, I didn't know you could shortcut short hop with 2 jump buttons, I knew about shortcut short hop arial tho. I had to set every button to attack other than left trigger to force myself to learn, so I literally couldn't do this haha, time to re map.

My first advanced tech I learned was the dash cancel, walk cancel, boost grab for captain falcon from fatality :)
Wait, I'm so excited to start the grind to master the techniques I didnt know about heh
Low key need this video
Missed opportunity to have a key signature instead of a time signature for your profile pic.
i first learned how to RAR. The same video I saw it brought up in also brought up attack cancelling. I practiced both after seeing that video
keitaro is the best voiceover guy for your videos
First advanced technique I learned was the walk off ledge disrespect down air.
I see you too are a man of culture.
He’s a Doc Mario main

Attack cancelling is the first real tech I learned in Ult, most of the other tech I knew from previous titles.
Wavedashing. It's actually what got me into Smash. DACUS being the one I was actually proud of. _Look at Snake gooo!_
I first learned pivot grab in Sm4sh, then teching in Ultimate. >.> I also didn't know performing an aerial during FF cancels your FF. Thanks, Keitaro!

Always recover high. Always.
I’m surprised how many of these I didn’t know- this is super helpful!
Keitaro should of taught us to recover high.
I'm going HIGH
My first Tech was Dark Pit arrow extending.
Reverse arial rush was my first. Only took a few minutes to learn and it’s soooo gooodddd
This might sound dumb, but my first advanced tech was doing a RAR
Alex Jobani same 😅😅😅
First advanced technique I ever learned was how to dodge.
Made beating Tabuu on Insane difficulty a much easier task in Brawl.
Those grab techniques are gonna buff lil Mac especially with all the techniques he already has he gon be beyond top tier

I actually started using IDJ because i found it out on accident and saw falcon was way better with his combos with it :)
Keitaro, back at it again l
Liked immediately as soon as I saw Keitaro
It was dash attack cancel with rosalina and Luma it's just OP that you can throw out a grab and an attack at the same time
RARs were the first tech I properly learned after that one is the slingshot.

I find it funny they just automaticly believe everyone uses a game cube controller.....
There’s more people who do than don’t. You should also have a high enough iq to discern which buttons on whatever controller you’re using correspond with what they instruct.
I think the first piece of "complex" tech I learned was the reverse aerial rush
The first advanced technique i learned in smash ultimate was jabbing, took hundreds of hours to get the timing right
0:03 brilliant intro
first tech i learned was sonic spinshot in smash 4
The first advanced technique I learned was the perfect shield. I did it by mistake back on melee and didn't understand it back then but then doing it in ultimate
I don’s know if this is advanced or not but I have learned how to predict when somebody is going to use a move without sound.
I always have my volume off.
I also have learned to combo Shulk’s Forward Air into a Forward Smash while in any Monado Art except Speed and Jump or without one active.
It can do massive damage or be a kill confirm if you time it right.
However it is not safe on shield but can be safe if spaced properly against certain opponent’s.

Fast Falling is another.

I learned others before this, but, the first I recall learning is jcff
Fantastic overview of some tips!
No Luigis were harmed in the making of this video...
super video! Keitaro has the best voice for it!
I first learned how to RAR, then Wave-bounce.
RAR back airs with kirby, still struggling with micro spacing and b reverses
my first advanced tech that I learned was jump cancelling with bayo
Great video dude, gonna practice this stuff.
its a shame hes banned from the community lol
Wave bounce and b-reversing
Ledge trumping and tether cancelling?Spotdogde canceling smash attacks? Shield tilting SDI? Sticky Ledge Running? Footstool slide landing? Dash cancelled pivot grabs? C’mon guys, up your game. This is only the tip of the Iceberg.
I the earliest techniques I remember learning were things like edgegaurding and short hopping and recovering
The most common tech I use side be at ledge as roy to kill at 60
Time to remake this with the slingshot I suppose!
The first Advanced thing I could do is Turning around. You wouldn't believe how many hours I dropped into Training trying to do this consistently.
that just might be the most tedious way to do a wave bounce, just do the dash > jump + diagonal c-stick. it just like doing attack cancels
I learned most of these out shere determination and stubbornness in smash4 for glory without even knowing their names
My favorite advanced tech is called UTC or Unplugging the controller of the other player
This video is great!
The first technique I learned was short hopping.
Get that bag Keitaro!!
