Learning your character's match ups is important too & that's a detail that got left out. I play DK a lot but rarely ever against a Pika, Fox, or Mario. The three biggest things that got left out are learning the whole concepts of fundamentals, adapting, & how play a good neutral. I know the video is made for beginners & intermediates, but it's still worth putting those things out there. Frame data & oos options are kinda pointless without the three things I mentioned or if you're playing a really bad mu.
Something you also want to learn, which is often not really in some of the training videos are your options off the ledge and how to react to your opponent. Also learning how to punish your opponents ledge options can often lead into a long advantage state for you and a lot of pressure on your opponent
Very true about combos...you can know combos but you'll only successfully land combos by focusing on weight class, percent damage but most importantly focus on what the opponent does after you hit them 💯

The tips in this video are awesome for what I imagine it would take to go from beginner to intermediate (and I wonder if I'mwilling to spend the time and effort to go that far). Advanced would be like being able to apply these tips to win consistently with most characters instead of just one or two, therefore improving your ability to win against many characters and learning the best way to fight every character with your main.

1:52 I've noticed that Lucario's up b seems to have issues at times doing this. Where it fails to snap to the ledge at random for no real reason. Also, for Snake, late nair into neu a is actually a true combo. According to the training mode anyway. 7:16 Down throw into buffered fsmash can be a confirm against most of the cast if they roll backwards and you read it right(though you can hit forward rolls too if you do it close to the ledge)
@@killercore007 It could also be that you were holding down making sure you don't grab ledge. Some stages have weird geometry that make you bounce off, I've had issues with Pokemon Stadium 2 and Unova and I want to say Yoshi's story as well. It's hard for me to say without seeing it though.
For how much he references UFD, he clearly hasn't actually looked at it. Chrom and Roy's jab isn't safe by frames, Chrom being -10 and Roy's sweetspot being -9 and the sourspot being -12. The jab is only safe if it's max spaced on a charavter with low range. If he was gonna talk about Chrom and Roy's safety on shield, he should've brought up landing fair, landing uair, or dtilt.

Hey, you may not know this but if you deliver an attacking mid air that has super armor, are you invulnerable just like you would be on the ground? Ex: You’re playing DK and you are off stage. The Mario you’re playing against goes for the FORWARD AERIAL and off instinct you for some reason side b. Would you be safe from something like this?
Valkoln It depends on A: The positioning, and B: The damage already dealt. If it’s closer to about 40, DK should be safe, but with the sweet spot of Mario’s fair, at some point, DK will be spiked. At zero, with DK off stage, if Mario is fastfalling and going for the fair, if DK times his side b right, I’ll put my bet on Mario being spiked instead.
So I found out what they are. DI is 'Directional Influence' whenever you get knockback you can slightly change what direction you get pushed towards. Helps you get out of being comboed and certain moves like PK-Fire. SD is 'Self Destruct' which is when you suck ass and fall off the edge lol Theres also SDI which I think is Smash Attack Directional Influence, whenever you get hit by a smash attack theres a momentary freeze frame, and inputting a direction right as you get hit let's you shift your position a little, which can save your ass I assume.
Well, as someone who does not play lucario, I can tell you the most important thing about lucario is to learn how to run away and play very defensive. This helps so you dont die at high percents when you can get easy kills and damage.

N-air is your best friend, just be sure you’re mixing up what you do afterwards to not get punished. Try for as many grabs as possible low % and hope to god that you can get a good b-air or f smash read for a kill because you have no combos anymore. Oh and back throw b-air is basically a kill confirm because everybody loves jumping into it. Source: Lucario main for a long time. Also if you have a discord join the Lucario smashcord. Leonzable Entertainment yes it does, but how nice would it be if they had your “Y” or “X” to do a short hop and a trigger for regular jumps for advanced tech.
HereOrNot16 A REAL short hop can only be done by attacking at the same time as you jump, tapping the button leads to a shorter jump but not a “short hop”.

killercore007 Lucario’s extreme speed cannot grab ledge when near the end of the move (~frame 42) which is probably why you’ve been having issues
@@yoyoguy1st It has done it earlier than that too. Either zips past it or bounces off, even when at the correct angle needed to snap to it.

Not sure why you're playing lucario, but using up b as a burst option (hitting the stage to avoid a sd) is good.

If you’re against someone with a reflector, I’d recommend not using side b. I’m sure it’s a projectile.

Hououin Kyouma parry eliminates the shield drop time
Parrying also gives you 5 frames to do whatever you want.

Actually think that'd be a dope idea. The shortcut with two jump buttons already exists so why not
You can short hop by tapping the jump button (usually X or Y)
