I love this cushion! It really forces me to be more conscious of my posture, & has helped reduce my pain level (history of moderate to severe lumbar stenosis at multiple levels).

Sitting back does support your lower spine, but it wont let you have a neutral spine at all. you will still have a flatter back, but it wont be neutral because sitting in any position where your legs are 90 degrees to your hips will always pull you out of neutral alignment. For certain, use a lumbar cushion, but making sure you have a good supportive couch to begin with will be a better place to start.
And it depends on the memory foam. Too soft will be useless. Make sure the foam is of proper density.
I wonder whether this cushion can be used without strapping because my elderly mum usually sits on a couch.
How to avoid the cushion from falling thru the hole, if the sofa is a recliner.? I have not found a way to do that..
