As someone who also lives in an apartment where you can hear everyone, I can only hear my downstairs neighbors talk if they are yelling. Hope that makes u feel a bit better!💖

I live on the second story of a three story condo building and I can hear my upstairs neighbor but never my downstairs neighbor. I hope that makes you feel better haha!
