the power of one controller, goes to the motor and in the other controller via output. Try putting 3 diodes on the output of both controllers so no power goes back in them. Should work as the have hall sensors and dont rely on back emf
In the last 30 seconds of the video, after you connected both hall sensors, you state: 'same problem' But I saw on your watt meters that both controllers were supplying power to the motor then, (both supplying about 12 Watts) so it looked like it was working fine then, so it seemed to me it was NOT the same problem.

How do i connect the wires ? do you think i can use one switch wit three speed option to connect two controllers together ? or i need to have a second switch ? an connect them separately ? thank you for your help an answer.
Hola buenas muy buen video, y que tal alreves un controlador de 1500 watts por ejemplo a 2 motored de 500 se podría es para un proyecto que tengo la duda
Great question! In my case, I investigated this because running two controllers in parallel will in theory double the available current, so two 60a controllers will handle 120a at the same voltage. This allows for two main advantages then; redundancy in case one controller has a problem, and most appealing to me, using less expensive controllers in parallel to achieve higher overall power output since more amps at same voltage will equate to that.
It feels like running 2 amps in parallel There are mosfets inside if you ad more you get more wattage But there is driver Circuit inside that cant be very happy
Do You Know What The Pin Wire Colours Are In order At The Controller End Of It5 cable .The Accelerator And Brake Wires Are Different Colours In The it5Cable
@@mwbgaming28 The throttle is a variable resistance, which is usually calibrated when the controllers are turned on. So wiring them in parallel is a safe bet. The resistance won't be as high since you've got two controllers feeding current through the throttle, however the throttle will control the resistance for both at the same time in that configuration. Did you end up getting it to work?
This may be a noob question but I was hoping when I found this video that it would work. Would it possibly work with diodes on the cables or if not how could you boost the watts a controller can put out without leaving the recommended volts. to simplify, is it possible even if it is not cost effective? How, I would really appreciate a link to a product or diy video.
You could trick it into believing it is pulling less amps by adding more solder around the shunt resistor, the shunt has a specified resistance and by lowering it you will trick the controller
What about connecting 2 different throttles? Where as in each controller is half the power of the motor? 1 fully throttle controller equals 50% motor power and 2 fully throttled controllers equal 100% motor power?
Thlnk with 2 full electronic double closed loop MCUs it should be possible. I was well sueposed when I saw the newest Generation Models by looking in web yesterday. There are some controller types with 18 mosfet & and 16Bit Tecnology 😮.
@@EVCustoms the 2nd controller cut offs beacuse it sense incoming current, just like when you ride downhill, the motor hub becomes generator and supply current to the battery.
These controllers and hub motors are running AC. They're each throwing out a sine wave. They're never going to be in sync. I'm not exactly sure why someone would want to run two motor controllers on one motor anyway unless they were just frankensteining something together.
And why exactly couldn't they be in sync? The entire AC grid staying in sync, this isn't rocket science or ultra high frequency.... Yes it's 'frankensteining' but that's kind of the point of diy. By doing this I can use two controllers that cost about 1/6th the price of equivalent, saving nearly a third, AND have redundancy; with more power
@@jonhinman2471 I guess you reminded me to never say never. What I should have said was I don't believe they would be in sync and I personally don't know how to make them be in sync. Doing things on a budget always intrigues me so if you have more information I would love to hear it.

Likely a disparity in speed reference calibration. You could scope the output waveforms and compare them to check.

ive got a feeling youd need some beefy diodes on the phase wires
and a syncronised hall output thats isolated from each other
I thought the same, any ideas on the size of diode for 48v 20a 2000w controller?

You should try this with load on the motor. With no load there is no need for more power and one of controllers is not used.
thanks, i was looking for one video like yours
Holy shit that opening beeping 😳
Can two hub motors and two speed controllers be run from one battery, having problems getting both to work at same time, thought you might help
I think both controllers need signal from hall sensors for the timing.. speed controllers need to know the position of the rotor

The energy coming in the controller is DC the energy coming out of the controller is three-phase AC. You can't run 3-phase AC in series.

This option is for duble controler power ?
But what if you add a diode or rectifier to both controller outputs, would it still go to protection mode?
No you can not put rectifiers on hub motor.. because the current goes from two sides..
