    On the controller that he is testing, high and low brake do not engage regenerative braking. They just cut the motor power. But on some controllers low brake engages regenerate and high brake engages battery powered braking (which uses battery power to reverse the motor). There may be tabs on the circuit board of the above controller - ABS, EBS when grounded that will engage regen or high braking- or bridging DS and X may engage regen (low)braking. It is hard to tell the difference with the motor on the bench as there is not enough momentum to see the difference between power cutoff, low braking and high braking.

    • @EVCustoms
      @EVCustoms  2 года назад +3

      Correct.. video with EBS breaking will be on next video of Learning board, this video is only for High and Low brake...

      @@EVCustoms Does regenerative breaking is different from electronic breaking. From my hover scooter, I can see that when I press the break lever, I can feel huge breaking force coming from motor, I believe its electronic breaking. I am very sure my mechanical breaks not playing any roll here, as I have disconnected those mechanical friction breaks completely. As per the spec given by Hover, my scooter dont have regenerative breaking. So, I am curious to know does regenerative breaking and electronic breaking are two different things, for these controllers.

    You should find a way to mass produce your E-bike Mother Boards for Testing connections. To be able to take the parts and test what they know about the assembly is worth paying for. The Mother Board is an easy build that will ship well and save lives at the same time. Mother Board / Test board.... Same thing. This has huge potential. Too many people are making Home Made e-bikes and they don't know what they've got until it fails, or even worse. A good Testing Mother Board would keep us all safe. The big problem would be that people buy the wheels all ready spoked to the rim. A Stand for the Motor that's Vertical would need to be included or offered as an accessory. You could take an entire wheel with tires and do diagnostics with a simple heavy duty stand.
    Just something to think about. Love all your videos. Thanks for all that you do. You gave us all a gift.

    Hello, I bought an Esc that comes with accelerator pedal. It’s rated max 36 volts. I connected it to a 30volts lipo battery and connected two 775 motors. The accelerator works fine if I press it, but after a while it stops. The only way to make it work, is by turn off the ignition, and turning it on again while pressing the pedal just a little bit; like this works every time. I can’t figure out what the problem might be. I uploaded a video on Reddit if you want to see it.

      Yes you can do that only with isolated 5V signals like i said in the video, if you do that on controller with non isolated signals you will burn your controller, on this controllers if you measure signal with the positive wire for example 48V battery you will see high voltage about 43V, and if you pull your brake you will send this voltage direct to your MCU microcontroller.

    If I’m not mistaken, a beginner could easily be perplexed. When brake levers can have 3 wires output. And the majority of controllers have 2 so where does the signal go? Especially with universal throttle/controller system?

      Break leavers with 3 wires need 5 volt power because they have magnetic sensor inside and they need power, So when you have three wires on your brake leaver, on red and black wires you must apply 5V power and from the white wire you will have signal output...

    Kinda new to the ebike stuff. Is it required to connect the break system? If not connected, will the controller drain the batteries? TY in advance for your advice.

    this controller has a green wire which most picture just describe as "instrument wire".... does this get used for a speed sensor with something like a speedometer?

      Hi.. this green wire is for your speed meter dashboard device, from this green wire you get signal pulses from motor phase... high speeds higher frequency output low speed lower frequency output.

    Super helpful! Love your stuff. Any chance we could talk you into showing us how to wire a 12v brake. I recently got a sabvoton 72150 with this option and I'm trying to find out how to wire this guy. Thanks for all your videos!
