On the controller that he is testing, high and low brake do not engage regenerative braking. They just cut the motor power. But on some controllers low brake engages regenerate and high brake engages battery powered braking (which uses battery power to reverse the motor). There may be tabs on the circuit board of the above controller - ABS, EBS when grounded that will engage regen or high braking- or bridging DS and X may engage regen (low)braking. It is hard to tell the difference with the motor on the bench as there is not enough momentum to see the difference between power cutoff, low braking and high braking.
@@EVCustoms Does regenerative breaking is different from electronic breaking. From my hover scooter, I can see that when I press the break lever, I can feel huge breaking force coming from motor, I believe its electronic breaking. I am very sure my mechanical breaks not playing any roll here, as I have disconnected those mechanical friction breaks completely. As per the spec given by Hover, my scooter dont have regenerative breaking. So, I am curious to know does regenerative breaking and electronic breaking are two different things, for these controllers.

You should find a way to mass produce your E-bike Mother Boards for Testing connections. To be able to take the parts and test what they know about the assembly is worth paying for. The Mother Board is an easy build that will ship well and save lives at the same time. Mother Board / Test board.... Same thing. This has huge potential. Too many people are making Home Made e-bikes and they don't know what they've got until it fails, or even worse. A good Testing Mother Board would keep us all safe. The big problem would be that people buy the wheels all ready spoked to the rim. A Stand for the Motor that's Vertical would need to be included or offered as an accessory. You could take an entire wheel with tires and do diagnostics with a simple heavy duty stand. Just something to think about. Love all your videos. Thanks for all that you do. You gave us all a gift.
Thanks for the very informative video. This set-up is not failsafe. I would like to see that when the circuit is broken. the brake is on. The brake switch should be normally closed.
Hello, I bought an Esc that comes with accelerator pedal. It’s rated max 36 volts. I connected it to a 30volts lipo battery and connected two 775 motors. The accelerator works fine if I press it, but after a while it stops. The only way to make it work, is by turn off the ignition, and turning it on again while pressing the pedal just a little bit; like this works every time. I can’t figure out what the problem might be. I uploaded a video on Reddit if you want to see it.
Very useful video! thanks 👍. Is there a way to add "gradual" braking instead of an emergency "all or nothing" stop? Or as an alternative: some way to make the motor slow down with braking force as opposed to coasting. (like engine braking)
