- Hyundai has revived the Tucson name for its stylish new SUV. It replaces the ix35 and goes up against cars like the Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar.
While top-of-the-range models are expensive, the Hyundai Tucson comes packed with equipment, it looks great and has a spacious interior. It's powered by a 1.6 petrol, 1.7 CRDi diesel or two 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engines.

I agree, I'm downgrading from a ford mustang and need an suv for my 3 daughters so this thing looks amazing for an suv, beautiful front end, don't care about mpg, was averaging 35mpg in my mustang ecoboost to work and back, so guaranteed if i get this nice looking tucson i get more mpg, either that or get the diesels they have about 60mpg 👍

I have the 1.7se diesel and it's got great features including reversing sensors and a solid fabric interior (matt plastics rather than shiny cheap looking fingerprint magnets in the nissan'). Also worth noting certain professions get a substantial discount off new with the hyundai affinity scheme, around 2.5k off base models. I'm averaging 40-45mpg which isn't up there with nissan diesel engine but the mpg is increasing with mileage from new. not sure if it is covered in the review but the front 'eyebrow' sidelights are immense.

I've seen some of them on the road and it's true this one looks pretty and perfect size, not too big not too small...

Hyundai surprised me. They made this time very good car in mine opinion. Nice design, nice interior, good engine...
At last, the long-waited review on Tucson. I test drove this car for about half hour and I was really impressed by its refinement, space, quality and how well composed it was. Only downside was the 155bhp diesel engine which was a bit slow on acceleration. My only question is why they assigned the interior design to the Americans instead of letting Schreyer finish the job.
Still wonder why manufacturers dont just fit a Sat Nav Mount area so people can use their own preferred updatable/ replacable satnav, some may want a better quality Garmin device. Also change from bulky 12V cigar to 5V USB connections or standardise on a universal 5V and 12V connection system. Great review Ginny
This may seem late but I have found this a fantastic option as a used car, the one I just purchased had only 30k on it 2017 with the nav pack and I am mroe than impressed coming from a Renault, the quality is far above renault.
I agree had a Renault Kadjar but the Hyundai is far better build quality

@@sunitkaul Yes, one of the best cars we have ever had. Fantastic airport car for luggage, huge boot. We’ve used it for everything from bikes to Paddleboard’s. Short and long trips it’s been fantastic. Heated seats are some of the best out there, they are quick and go high on the chair. It runs very well and it still looks good.
The car is surprisingly beautiful! Where is James the Goth? No just kidding, great review and great to see you review cars again! I do have one suggestion: when you specify the engines it would be great if you also could include a torque / horse power figure or 0-60 for example. Thanks very much! :D

+lostincamelot We'll it's just my opinion. looks are subjective after all and although the Bentley is premium car with a lush interior however the exterior just doesn't do it for me. perhaps if I see it in person I might think differently but from seeing it online...nah, which is why I say the hyundai looks prettier

Just coming to the end of 3 years with an Audi Q3. Pick up a Tucson Premium SE in 2 weeks. Spec of Tucson comes in around £30,000 GBP An Audi Q3 in nearly the same spec £41,000GBP!!!! No brainer
High-un-die? We pronounce it Hun-day here in the US (rhymes with Sunday) and is actually closer to the correct Korean pronunciation which is He-on-deh.
Hyundai (hun-day) have outdone themselves with the new Tucson. Very good looking vehicle.
Most of Europe calls it High-un-die. Americans say "nitch" instead of niche though, which is just terrible.

Hyundai is next to Japanese cars when it comes to reliability.They are better and better every year. When you are sure about the quality,then you offer 5 year warranty.
Several comments on here about the way Hyundai is pronounced here in the UK. You need to know the pronunciation used in this review is the way Hyundai presents itself in the UK (see their UK adverts on youtube). Obviously not correct way to pronounce a Korean name BUT this is the way Hyundai advertises itself in this country.
So many days without a new video...
My parents test drove this and I sat in the back and felt really uncomfortable. The rear windows are far too small and made me feel travel sick, something I've never been, on the small journey we made. I also felt it was cheap inside compared to other rivals, so overall I was very disappointed with it.

Ginny has been doing car reviews for 20 years, she was smoking hot, still looking good btw. What surprised me is that she always has always been very articulated.
Maybe that's the brand pronunciation from another country, brands are pronounced differently from country to country.
Not sure why some were so hard on her, probably envious.

12 thousands pounds. With high spec panoramic roof and power boot. Is cheap!! In Malaysia this tucson with high spec cost around RM 143k (26k pounds). With no power boot or panoramic roof.

How/why has it taken Car Buyer this long to do this review? Even the reg plate is a 15! There is a segment about prem price being 12k more but she never stated the base price? And MPG being relatively bad on the 2litre D model but never said if that motorway mileage, useful buying information for us potential customers.

you do realise, the reason why the back opens so slow, right?! Can you imagine that thing opened instantly, the amount of nose bleeds you get will become quite a lot more.
After analysing this car specs here's my criticism , it weights like a Bus

I mean most people don't care about 0- 60mph , I don't care either , but when the 0-60 mph times are 14 Sec , its bad , it mean's this car wouldn't be able to Keep up with Vauxhall corsa with a 1.2cc engine , if you Pick the £30 Road tax version
the sport version ( 2.0 crdi 185hp ) is barely able to Keep up with 1.6dci 130 on the Kadjar/Quashcai

Why weight is a Issue for me , It affects , acceleration , Breaking , fuel consumption & reliability by putting additional strain on Clutches and gearbox's
And driving in the mountains, and keeping up with the other traffic is impossible with this car

i have Tucson 1.7 crdi premium and real 0 to 60 (try few times) just over 11 second, however if you search on you tube "Hyundai tucson 1.7 crdi" guy with white tucson manage 0-60 well under 11 second.
You will never ever in your life floor a daily car and care about 0-60times ( non petrolheads who just drive for getting point a to b ) , how old are you?

most people like me , don't want racing cars
however when we go on family trips , we want a car we can overtake safely and enter motorways , without putting others road users at risk

You say this is the manual option but it’s clearly an automatic from this video.
As an owner of the original Tucson and also IX35 I have to say that I am not impressed by Hyundai build quality. Theese cars start to rattle, creak and knock at around 50k km. I also had to replace all dampers on IX35 this month at just 70k km, not to mention that ride quality was really rattly and worse than in some of the super minis like Fiesta. Interior starts to look faded, makes noises and generally feels loose and brittle. Seats were never really comfortable, SAT nav started acting out and then failed completely, luckily it was still under warranty. Engine is powerfull but lacks any manners, it is really noisy, automatic gearbox is OK. Driving it is fine if you want to go from A to B, although I was scared everytime I turned into turn in slippery conditions(wet/snow), you get no idea if there is any grip left.
If I could help, I would recommend spendig a bit more and going for Toyota RAV4 which I had for a week in Iceland and it was superb or maybe try Ford Kuga. Or if you dont "need" a new car, try second generation BMW X3. Price of fully specced Tucson will surely get you sweetly equipped X3 with low mileage and the difference is night and day - the X3 is a CAR, this is mere people shuffler.
+Luke Luke Oh, and I forgot one "funny" thing. If you park with one wheel up a curb you can't close the boot. The body twists and it does not fit properly by almost 2cm. I do not dare imagine crashing in such a marshmellow...

+ketan bafna Yes we do, it's named the Hyundai 'ix25' in here, and not 'Creta' - but identical in all other respects.
the cockpit looks old from the beginning, too little design, cause there are no alu, pianolack or wood trims, so the style is actually boring and naked, which does not fit the stylish outfit at all.
