    Sally Ride was such an inspiration. She had such good energy. I was just a kid in 1983 but I sure appreciate all this now.

    20 years after Valentina Tereshkova.... Soviet Union had flaws but being overly sexist wasn't one of them.

      Valentina was only flown for propaganda reasons. The next female soviet astronauts were in the 80s right as nasa was doing it

      There is a book out about the first six women that got into Nasa and it reveals how deep the level of sexism and racism really was. John Glen said at public hearing that women belonged in a kitchen and not in a space ship.

      the comunist soviet union was allways looked as bad, wich was true. but after stalin died, the soviet union turned into a good place. where equality was a big role and racism was very low.

    Trying to find that song created in the 1980's dedicated to Sally Ride.
    It was a really cool techno song but the band removed the song from circulation out of respect for the people who died in the shuttle accident.

      Perhaps she had some help?
      Censored on my Comment... >>They always had PLANS, even for Mars... lot is said, you think they would say they pushed her out? Maybe her divorce and lesbianism, as non Whites it was not well seen back then.
      Many people, scientists, feel obligated to return to the Moon. Many have claims the vast advantages of real outerspace station as Sally Ride. So even USA needs, more so other countries.
      O DEAR >>Sally Ride leaked a crucial report during the Challenger investigation--A report showing that the space shuttle’s O-rings could fail in cold temperatures - and that NASA management knew it - landed in Ride’s hands. She gave it to another member of the group charged with investigating the 1986 disaster, *and that’s how the truth got out.BE FUNNY IF IT STICKS HERE :)

    Want to know why there's never been a woman on the moon?

    • @cherrytraveller5915
      @cherrytraveller5915 2 месяца назад

      That isn't hard to answer. Same reason why no one of colour or different race never went to the moon. During that phase of space flight Nasa were incredibly set in their ways and they remained Lilly white males.
