- The following video shows how to add additional trim hydraulic fluid to a boats outboard trim motor. When you are having issue with your trim motor not raising the motor, this is a great place to check first. Most of the time you will find the trim motor has a leak and is not getting the correct amount of trim fluid in the trim cylinder to raise the motor to correct level. Following these easy steps to allow your trim motor to raise your outboard.
If you are having problems with you trim motor not moving up or down this is a great place to start. Generally adding fluid to the system and working the trim motor up & down will fix this problem. I would suggest trying this easy fix before changing out the entire system. This is a great way to trouble shoot a trim motor before replacing it. Кино
Thank you, straight to the point and simple.
Nice, did it fix it. I hearing a lot people saying they still had to get a new motor?
Man thanks so much for posting this.
Had the issue today. Used my sons boat, trimmed up fine then wouldn’t go back down. Knew it was low on trim fluid but kinda scratching my head on refilling properly. Great tutorial!
Thank you help me great
Boat sitting awhile makes noise but won't go up or down. Hope it's this simple . I subbed
Me too, just keep working the fluid into the cylinder and should start working. If not a new trim motor is not to hard install either. Let me know how it goes? have a great new year.
@@Wolfemonsters will do
BTW I just did the manual release moved it up and down and it worked after. Guess I just had to bleed air?
Excellent video, simple direct and to the point. Thank you very much. Lou
Exactly. I've skipped they 10 other videos lecturing me about their boat and stuff lol
Thank you glad you liked it. Did you get it working?
Appreciate that, is it working now?
EXCELLENT Video! My engine will not trim up or down but I hear the trim motor screamin when i try it so if I unscrew the manuall release screw & tilt this monster (150hp merc) up and down after I add fluid a few times ,it should suck enough fluid into the system and create the pressure needed to trim it up & down on it`s own ? I sure hope so! I just dread tryna lift this heavy motor manually up & Down.LOL
Yep that is a great place to start. And is a lot cheaper than replacing the whole motor. Wishing u the best of luck 🤞
good vid
Hope it helped did it work?
Please help. After i added the oil, the engine got stuck on the up position. Cant get it to come down. Thank you.
I just replaced my entire trim motor and added fuel to it. Works fine but now it has white smoke coming from it after going up and down a couple times. Any idea what that might be?
maybe burning "FUEL"? It should be filled with HYDRAULIC FLUID, not "FUEL".
Did you hook the ground back up may be shorting out the new motor
My motor stuck down and look like is locked. I can’t lifted anymore I release the screw on the side and nothing happened anyone know what is the solution motor not working
Outboard is Johnson 150 1998 fast strike
Thank you
Was hoping it was stuck DOWN. not up.. 👀
My is kind of noisy. May be it needs oil.
I would deft start there. Hope this fixes it 👍
When i move it down it flushes all the oil out the top, is that normal or do i have a bad seal or some
when the motor is down the tilt system in under pressure , so if you open that valve the liquid will come out . Try this with the motor all the way to the top and very little should come out .
I thought that's how you bleed the air out is by leaving the cap off and trim up and down. Adding more fluid every time it back up
Looks like water
