MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, this is another solid explanation of Graphing Rational Functions Using Transformations with Vertical and Horizontal Asymptotes. These concepts are fairly easy to understand. Over the years, I tutor this class at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, Maryland. I really learned this class by teaching it to many different students.
How would you graph this kind of function if it has a numerator greater than one? That’s my only question. The rest of the video was extremely helpful, thank you!
For a rough sketch, not particularly different. More accurately, the curved parts wouldn't be as close to the asymptotes, especially at the places where vertical and nonvertical asymptotes meet. The numerical numerator is a stretching factor, we can say.

Amazing! Thanks a bunch, I have a quiz tonight, and this video helped me understand fraction translations!
Great explanation! I wish my teacher is half of as good as you are
It is you that you have to work hard to solve your problem, don't waite all your problems are going to be solved by your teacher
For the very first time i have learned something from youtube because of this guy.
Your channel is the only reason why I'm even passing my math class 😭😭

great video dude it inspired me to get a phd
Thanks, I can now ace the exam and get full marks thank you 😊
Am having a quiz today and this video has really helped me alot
thanks so much for this video! I have my algebra 2 exam tomorrow and I'm using this as review haha
Coffee is just bean soup
thank yoou so much youre saving me in college for pre calculus!!
can you do more explanation about how to draw asymptotes
very clear and easy to understand teaching. i alway love your videos. thank
Me patiently waiting to skip the ads so that I can watch your lectures :)
Thank you Soo much
Huge Respect ❤️🔥

@@thatsenoughoutofyou Would y=1/x -> y=3/x be a vertical shrink or stretch?
It was so helpful thank u 🙏
Gracias profe dieter
not ne learning this 4 years prior and still needing help bc school don't teach you to memorize this stuff
17:55 count me in
at 8:20 why is the horizintal Asymptote 0?
Because n > m. When n is greater than m, the horizontal asymptote is 0 most of the time.
Thank you i love you omg
thank youuuuu
for y = (1/x^2) -3 shouldn't the graph show going to negative infinity as x approaches zero from the left and be below the -3 HA?
X cannot be negative
hey, your las exercise, I thought when you have the difference of two squares you make x=2 and x=-2 making two vertical asymptotes instead of one
Love ❤ from india
Excellent video!
Amazing tnx
y = 1/(1 - x)
What is the graph of this equation?
Thankyou sir
thank you very much!!!
Thanks a bunch!!!!!
4:54 shouldn't it be (0, negative infinity)?
Negative numbers are on the left side of zero, so it's (-infinity,0)
Negative numbers are smaller than zero
11:41 Ignore this
