Two games that are great that seem to fly under the radar are From the Darkness; an indy horror game that sees the protagonist investigating his grandfather's dilapidated apartment only to become trapped in some alternate hellish realm that he needs to escape from. And Insomnis; where your character inherits his grandfather's mansion and finds it haunted by the ghosts of children with a chilling and tragic backstory. If you guys do another list I'd love to see those two make an appearance!
The reason why Indie Horror Games are so horrifying is because the developers of these games are in full control without any studio interference.
I wonder why the mortuary assistant never came to PlayStation, it’s on Switch even. Madison and Visage are the 2 scariest games since the PS2 days with series like Silent Hill, Fatal Frame and Haunting Ground.
The Guest & Witch’s Doll should be on that list too … I was terrified !!

A Plague Tale Requiem. I don’t know if it’s considered a horror game but it had me scared.
I haven't heard of several of these games and Crow Country is immediately a must-play!

Visage is easily one of the best and scariest horror games I've ever played. The Baby-Faced ghost in black is still one of the most terrifying moments to me. I don't find Madison or Infliction to be quite on the same level. However, The Mortuary Assistant is an absolute masterclass in horror. I want more of it!

I want a game where all those ghosts and demons and monsters and mutants and such... all think they are scary and horrific... then find out you don't fear them and in fact are tanked up and fearless with quickfire or big choppy or smashy blessed weapons, and as such, make them feel fear of YOU. Spookies have little power over one who does not fear them.
