    Chorus is the most underrated and overlooked game I've played by far. It's INCREDIBLE and yet almost nobody talks about it. And I never thought I'd ever like a game where you fly around in a ship. It's like a combination of Hellblade and a role playing adventure game like the new Tomb Raiders, but in a space ship. It also has the best soundtrack I've heard in a video game.

    • @jurtheorc8117
      @jurtheorc8117 7 дней назад

      Big Soulstice fan here! Will start by saying it's got some rough points. Like pacing-- some find the beginning to drag on, others find the middle to drag on, and the sights are mainly Big Bridge - Dungeon - Ruined City (inside and outside - Waterways - Sewer.
      (The last third is more visually interesting. Lots of snow, ruined monastery and the enemy designs get more interesting).
      It's also not the easiest game in the genre to get into. There's quite a few mechanics to it and I know that some didn't have the interest or patience to want to engage with them. And some skills feel like they should have been unlockable earlier.
      *However*. The game still has a LOT to offer. In terms of world and characters, for example. The two sisters elevate one another in both gameplay and narrative, as the story said. There's a snarky overseer/merchant named Layton who has two optional conversations per level. Can give more insight on how the characters think, reactions on recent events, lore on the world, or general amusement.
      The inventory notes, weapons and character guides and bestiary are written from his perspective, too!
      You get to unlock seven total different weapons, most of the enemy roster is solid, and fighting does *sound* and *feel* good.
      All weapons share inputs:
      - Combo String
      - Combo String with pause after the second hit
      - Attack + Jump
      - Attack + Jump from the air
      - Double tap joystick forward + attack
      - Dodge + attack
      - Hold Button attack (sometimes)
      The big sword only has the Combo String, Pause Combo String, and Double Tap Forward/Dodge Attack, though.
      The inputs are easy to remember, but all weapons do have unique moveset animations and their own purposes.
      For example: The punch daggers are rapid, concentrated hits and as such aren't great for hitting folks around you, but can be good for staggering enemies with longer wind-up animations.
      If you *do* want to hit folks around you, the whip hits wide and multiple times, though not as hard as most other weapons.
      the warhammer and buckler gauntlet are strong against barriers (forcefields and shields) and armor, with the hammer especially strong against the barriers and the buckler gauntlet having a Hold Button variant for every combo hit, which gives extra reach and power.
      There's more to it that I won't get into here right now.
      I just hope that you'll find Soulstice interesting, and even more that you may find it fun when you play it despite the rough spots.
      Here's to hoping that Soulstice and Darksiders may get proper continuations and conclusions to their respective sagas.
      Thanks for reading through this, and have a good one.

    Darksiders is entirely too overlooked as a series. It set out to be a Zelda-Like and damned if it didn’t manage to pull it off, to the point each one plays just different enough to call players back later. The Tank combat of the first one, the quick strikes of the second, and the ridiculousness of a sword whip beings it’s own joy.

    For sure Darksiders was and is an epic story(Darksiders 1-2)i would heave loved for the original devs to continue the saga since after the rights were sold and the next games where not even close to the first 2's quality.
    As for the other games on the list i can't say i am tempted to try.

    • @jurtheorc8117
      @jurtheorc8117 7 дней назад +1

      I'm a big fan of Darksiders myself (mainly 1, 2 and Genesis) and would still recommend Soulstice. It's got a dark tone and writing that I feel is similar to Darksiders and has really good story and characters to match, though focuses a *lot* more on the combat and has a Level structure, and not more open world.
      Will say that like the Darksiders series it can have its rough spots in gameplay, but it has a lot to offer both in gameplay and story. Tt's become a new favourite in the genre for me alongside the DS series.
      Hoping that both games will get proper continuations and eventual conclusions to their sagas.

    • @MrGabyGaming
      @MrGabyGaming 7 дней назад

      @@jurtheorc8117 True the first 2 games were great, but the other ones sadly kind of killed the original story. When the original studio got sold and the original story got lost and made into something new then everything that was great was lost.

    • @jurtheorc8117
      @jurtheorc8117 7 дней назад

      @@MrGabyGaming I wouldn't say that Genesis "killed the story". As a prequel it worked well, did some interesting things and felt more in line with 1 and 2 to me. Genesis, like the other games in the series, tries its own things (and feels a bit closer to 1 and 2's combat and tone) but is not a precedent or promise how any future games *will* be made.
      But you make a point in how an envisioned original story may have had things lost in translation when the IP came into the hands of a new studio. It's not the full team of Darksiders 1 and 2-- people with experience may have left, new people come on board. There may be old struggles in development, new struggles, or things going smoothly.
      Regardless if you agree with me or not on some or all things i mention, I simply hope that any continuations and a conclusion to Darksiders (and Soulstice) will be good and live up to its own spirit.

      That's why it's so important to spread the word where we can. I for one was *really* glad to see Soulstice be mentioned alongside Darksiders 2, hoping for a proper continuation and eventual conclusion to both.
      In the meantime i'm enjoying and spreading knowledge on stuff like Immortal: And the Death that Follows, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Cookie Cutter, Genokids, Resistor, My Familiar, The Dungeon Experience, Judero, Pillory, Enenra Daemon Core, Decline's Drops, Near-Mage... there's so much cool stuff and so many people that may not know about things that will genuinely resonate with them.
