I always say that if you could play that game today, would you? Perfect example, Tetris effect is way better than the first Tetris, but so many people will place it high as it was so revolutionary for its time

Super Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time. But putting it at #1 as the greatest game of all time will definitely ruffle feathers
Eh not really. These lists always have one of the N64 classics at number 1. It’s kinda hard to beat the games that laid down the foundation for all 3D videogames

I think it could better be argued as the most mind blowing game of all time given what came before and the tech it pushed forward. I guess this could make it the best for someone because of the power of that nostalgia?

@@IrishBrotato no it was considered 1# for 15-20 years by all critics, journalists, and gamers across the board. It changed everything, I played it 20 years after release and it was incredible.
You need to realize your perspective on what is best isn’t the “correct one.” Don’t be so quick to judge games that were before your time.
It’s easy for me to say the best games were 2007-2015 because that’s what I grew up on , but the reality is many incredible games came out before and certainly since then. Be more open minded + don’t ever judge if you haven’t even beaten it. 🫡

And of all Pokemon games you could have chosen, you picked on of the bottom tier. Its remake is ten times better.

Of all the Final Fantasy games you could have put on here, you don’t choose any of the classics? Final Fantasy IV should have been put on this list.

@@DRAGONOFDESTINYZ Not that Rebirth is a bad game. It’s just there have been more definitive experiences on those games beforehand. With Final Fantasy IV being not only a major high point for the series but the entry that put the series on the map I thought it deserved a spot on this list.

@@DRAGONOFDESTINYZ Maybe so but FFIV has still stood the test of time and is widely considered one of the greatest video games of all time. After recently playing through it, I definitely understand why. Its story, characters, combat system and soundtrack are some of the best the franchise has to offer. While I do agree that there have been titles in the series that have surpassed it in quality, I think Final Fantasy IV is still one of the best games in the series. The game definitely gave us the best FF protagonist in the form of Dark Knight turned Paladin Cecil Harvey.
@justinsullivan8250 while FFIV was a massive evolution in the series, I still think VI or VII hold the title as the best and most influential games of the franchise that had the most impact or should be considered as among the greatest games
Placing Red Dead Redemption on 22 is absolute disgrace to this channel, this game is a masterpiece no matter if you like it, or not. It's sensational it should in top 10 at least (top 3 if you ask me).

Everything but actually gameplay goes into the making of these list, it’s just nostalgia and who did it first. Damn near every Mario game after 64 was better than it. Especially the Galaxy games and Odyssey.

Those kind of list are always attract a buttload of people complaining because its all opinion and no facts. Like for my part I would switch the 1st and 2nd spot, but like I said, its all opinion. Evenmore, there is a trend where its cool now to hate on something popular, Ocarina of Time is the highest rated game of all time, the scope of the game was huge for the time , spectacular music, a wonderful world, the creation of Z targeting etc... But still, some kids who think they are cool will thrash the game because they will fell like they are a part of a select group that hate something popular. Anyway, its just video games, have you favorite, play them and thats it.

Great vid! Difficult job ranking ALL TIME! Showing my age but no Spectrum/Commodore era games which laid the foundation for modern day gaming is disappointing. Can't recall seeing Zelda Link To The Past in this list but do think generally nostalgia rightly should be a factor. Would have liked to have seen Elden Ring ranked higher.

Elden Ring at 58 was something I was not expecting. Especially after the DLC was just rated the highest rated dlc of all time beating the Witcher 3s dlc.

Halo 2's difficulty levels are precisely designed for players' skill level? This is the Halo known for having the most unfair higher difficulties because Master Chief is essentially the second-weakest entity in the entire game on legendary, among other difficulty design decisions.
