They sing it even more amazing live. IV does the high vocals and vessel the lower ones, sometimes they switch. I’d argue they sound even better live with this song
indeed just saw them sunday at webstar hall NY and they killed it with Vore, it sounds better live
it's the opposite.... IV does the lower screaming. It never changed.
I just realized what if the screaming vocals are layered the way they are to mimic the theme of the song. Either someone screaming from inside the throat if the thing that ate them, or the screaming is coming from the thing that did the consuming of someone else but it’s muffled because that person is caught in their throat. One of the first lines in the clean verse is “Will we remain stuck in the throat of gods?” Just something to think on
by far one of the best songs they’ve released oml
This is still my favourite song off Take Me Back to Eden. The harsh vocals at the start are so good, and it gets slightly groovy, then an amazing chorus, and then ends back on the harsh vocals. It just slaps, that simple.
Just so everyone knows, Vessel 1 does in fact do the screams. 4 helps live. Looking at credits on track listings show that 1 and 2 do all of the performances. 1 does all vocals and instrumentation, minus drums, which is 2's craft :)
Without giving away any identities, 1 & 2 are also the only consistent members in the lineup. 3 & 4 are actually different musicians from Sundowning 😊
@@Jalanko13 actually, 4 is the only one that has changed as far as I'm aware and I've been following them for a very long time!
@@Jalanko13 III hasn't changed since the very beginning, but IV is rather new but seems to be well integrated.
I like that people dont say Vessels real name. I know it and i see lots of other people that know it but keep it to themselves. i think thats super cool
@@apollolinaire2607 I was under the impression that the Warwick bass era of bassist was a different player, and the Charvel playing III is a more recent addition to the band. I might be wrong and I don't know when they changed, but from some looking around I think there have been two III's
Dark and atmospheric. The harmonies are divine. The chorus is gorgeous. I love Sleep Token, this album will surely be the aoty for me.
Who would've thought, that Sleep Token would ever use kinda atmospheric black metal in their songs. That's fucking sick. I started listening to black metal a few weeks ago and i'm all here for it🤘🏻🖤

I'm one of those people who just recently heard of Sleep Token from TikTok when The Summoning blew up. Always was in that pop punk/alternative scene but Sleep Token is definitely making me dip my toes in the heavier stuff again, but it's hard to deny that they just make good music for a lot of people to get into!
Go look at their old ep and albums. All their stuff is extremely good

I feel like they’re Chess pieces. This is the Queen, summoning was the King, Chokehold was the Castle, Aqua Regia was the bishop and Granite was the pawn.

I love that the new album is called, "Take Me Back to Eden", because in Aqua Regia, the bridge in that song reminded me of an artist by the name of EDEN, that's just really funny to me!

For anyone new to sleep token, screams are not new for them, this song definitely reminds me of a much older song of theirs called gods! Also has scream verse with a beautifully sung chorus definitely worth a listen imo❤️so glad they’re getting the recognition they deserve now! Worship.
Theres several live versions of this song. Believe it or not theyre even better live. Not as 'produced' mind you but Vessel and the rest of the band are incredible. U guys should react to a live version of this song...

Well, based on several posts I saw in some fb groups, there's an overlap between Tool and ST fans. Me being the one. And some toolheads are chilled, I promise :D
So unique, you never know what to expect or where a song is going to go with them. Not a fan of songs that fade out though - it’s a gripe I’ve always had. That said, might be on of my favourite songs by them (the Offering being my favourite of theirs - have a listen if you’ve not heard that one)

for what is worth personally I use reaction channels to discover other people's thoughts on music I enjoy I will listen to the song first then look at reactions , honestly kind of prefer the talking over the music video as opposed to pausing , your banter and personality is why i comeback to the channel

Most Black Metal screams i have heard at way more high pitch and distorted. This is just a good solid scream with strain on the back end.

Whats also cool is that Vessel (the singer) isnt the one who does the screams, its either IV or III, which is cool cause it means they can almost rotate the entire line up live, whilst keeping the same members!

@@MisterBolticus I was ganna say, definitely sounds like vessel. From what I’ve seen he does his own screams in the song and live let’s one of the other members do some of the screams. Plus I wouldn’t think it makes sense that another member would do the screams on their official songs seeing as from what I remember vessel 1 and 2 are the only members of sleep token and the other members are fill ins for live shows. I could be wrong if someone else would like to correct me though
@@goynus6815judging by instagram, i think III and IV are official members now, although I don’t know how recently they became official members because they only just recently joined social media platforms.
You’re half correct. They do that when performing live, with 4 (the lead guitarist) helping with vocals.
In the studio however, 1 records all the vocals himself before layering.
I’ve seen vessel do the screams live it’s him. Him and IV switch and support the screams

"Vore" is another great track but for me I think they have given too much away with the new album, the five songs released are the first five songs on the record. I hope the back end of "Take Me Back To Eden" is going to have a bigger wow factor.
Bands don't make a ton of money from albums anymore. I think the strategy here is to drive asses to seats for their tour. And goddamn will I be buying tickets if they schedule stateside.
I believe this is traditionally how they release their albums
