I traveled in China by planes and by high speed trains many many times but never had any experience of delays. Chinese airports are fantastic and high speed train stations are super modern. The reason why take high speed train is they are comfortable and you can have a good experience with beautiful scenery while plane journey is boring......Now China train network is the best in the world... ultra fast, always on time (98% of the time), no strike (If in France... so many strikes in France), comfortable, not expensive... some Western 'experts' said that China would never show a profit on the High Speed trains.I guess they miss the point.Chinese government heavily invests in infrastructure to improve the lives of its people. It's not about profit first.This the true.True you can not see it in Western media when they speak about china.

When I was a student, I also travel on a budget so I took a lot of overnight sleeper trains which is cheaper than even the cheapest flights for the same journey. For example, if you took a sleeper train for that journey from Beijing to Shanghai, the train would depart at 8pm, arriving in Shanghai next morning at 11pm, while only cost roughly half as much, and you can save one night of hotel, which is really good for budget traveller. The only con for traveling with High speed train in China is that you have to be ON TIME. They will NOT wait for a second. When the gate is closed, it'll stay that way if you are even a second late. I'm not kidding, I once saw a guy was literally few seconds late, he rushed to closed gate...there was nothing the crew member can do because it's all automated. The poor guy didn't even try to ask or argue cos he knew...he simply walked away and had to wait for the next train. It's actually shocking for the people who witnessed it.
Shenzhen may be under a lot of pressure, but because it's a new city, it's full of outsiders who come here to make a living, and for those with no background it's fair and less corrupt.

I really hate those e-scooters, they are driving mad, and so aggressive. since they have no sound, you just don't notice the danger just around you. this is the only thing not good when I go back to my home country for visits.
These aren't quite the nicest seats - they are the older business class with a 2+1 layout, and some of the newer trains (I've only seen them on CR400s, but it's possible they are on other trains too) have a 1+1 layout with even larger and more comfortable seats.
As a cantonese, I'll recommend you guys to experience morning tea culture in Guangdong, especially in GuangZhou. You can try it in HK, but a bit pricey.
in China, the scooter drivers consider themselves as pedestrians with wheels. Anywhere where a pedestrian can walk, they can ride. They ride on pedestrian lane, on bike lane (this is where they should ride), motor lane. There are many traffic accidents involving a car and a scooter, in which the scooter wants to cross the road without noticing a car is coming. If you want an area to be 100% for pedestrians, you have to install many poles on the entrance so that the scooters cannot go through the gaps between the poles. The law enforcers are not that strict to the scooter riders because first of all, there are too many. They can’t stop every illegal riders. And they are very hard to track, even considering the large amount of cctv cameras in China. Tracking all of them is literally impossible. Another reason is that, cars are not affordable for everyone. But people need a faster way to get around. And public transportation can’t cover every corner of the city. So the e-scooter is the best choice. Third reason is that, people in cities relies heavily on food delivery service and grocery delivery service. People in big cities live a very fast-paced life. There is no time for people to grab groceries in the supermarket and cook a meal, or even go to a restaurant. So the delivery service is heavily used by everyone. And almost all the delivery guys ride scooters. Plus, the delivery service platforms want the food or groceries to be delivered very punctually. So the delivery guys HAVE TO break some traffic rules to make the delivery on time. It is a social dilemma in china. Everyone needs delivery service, but at the same time every one dislikes the rule-breaking delivery guys. One way to solve this dilemma could be that the delivery platforms gives more time for the delivery guys to make deliveries. But by doing so, the platforms that give slower deliveries will quickly be overtaken by those that give faster deliveries. It is very complicated and very hard to solve. For now, we can do nothing but live with it.
The Guangzhou municipal government wanted to control (not ban them) those scooters but a lot of selfish people opposed the idea, they complained if the govt controlled them, they couldn't go shopping, couldn't go to work, couldn't take their children to schools so on, then the govt has to stop not much they can do. That is a big mistake for the govt to develop these scooters, now they can not get rid of them.
In Guangzhou, the pace of life is very fast. Everyone works very hard and doesn't have much time. Food and clothes are basically delivered to the house on time, which is why you see a lot of electric cars, they go fast and you get a chance to experience it

By the way, the roast goose in Guangzhou is much more delicious than the Beijing duck you have eaten before. Come to Guangzhou to experience morning tea, eat Dim sum点心, try rice noodles肠粉, submarine congee艇仔粥, try double skin milk双皮奶 for desserts, and Yangzhi mannose杨枝甘露... There are so many delicious foods in Guangzhou that you may only try a small part of them in your life.
There is also a Guangzhou local car brand called xpeng. I suggest you go to their store and have a look. I heard that this brand of cars are also sold in Germany.

In the previous video you said that you want to visit some small cities in China, so as a Guilin native I must recommend my hometown Guilin. Guilin is a city with a long history and beautiful scenery. Even though I was born and lived here for 14 years I still admire the scenery here. It is only over 400 km from Guangzhou where you are located. You can take a high speed train to get there

The place with the most foreigners in Guangzhou must be Tongxin Road and Xiaobei Road in Yuexiu District. Sanyuanli, Zhanxi Road, Jinpang Road and Lujing Road are more populated by South Asians in Africa, while the high-end apartments near Tianhe East Station are more populated by Europeans, Americans, Japanese and Koreans.
In particular, a lot of Africans and Indians live near Little North Station and when you walk there, you smell feces 😂

phones to cars .. it's not really a switch of industries. Chinese cars are, basically, big _mobile_ phones you can drive around in. Whereas western cars are, traditionally, horseless carriages. A big difference in perception.
The only con for traveling with High speed train in China is that you have to be ON TIME. They will NOT wait for a second. When the gate is closed, it'll stay that way if you are even a second late. I'm not kidding, I once saw a guy was literally few seconds late, he rushed to closed gate...there was nothing the crew member can do because it's all automated. The poor guy didn't even try to ask or argue cos he knew...he simply walked away and had to wait for the next train. It's actually shocking for the people who witnessed it.

GZ has been the region’s capital, culture & trade center for millennials, economically not as lively as SZ but has more unique culture rooted within the city’s atmosphere. For high end fine dining and international foods go to SZ, for local & authentic foods go to GZ!

I really hate those e-scooters, they are driving mad, and so aggressive. since they have no sound, you just don't notice the danger just around you. this is the only thing not good when I go back to my home country for visits.

These aren't quite the nicest seats - they are the older business class with a 2+1 layout, and some of the newer trains (I've only seen them on CR400s, but it's possible they are on other trains too) have a 1+1 layout with even larger and more comfortable seats.

As a cantonese, I'll recommend you guys to experience morning tea culture in Guangdong, especially in GuangZhou. You can try it in HK, but a bit pricey.
in China, the scooter drivers consider themselves as pedestrians with wheels. Anywhere where a pedestrian can walk, they can ride. They ride on pedestrian lane, on bike lane (this is where they should ride), motor lane. There are many traffic accidents involving a car and a scooter, in which the scooter wants to cross the road without noticing a car is coming. If you want an area to be 100% for pedestrians, you have to install many poles on the entrance so that the scooters cannot go through the gaps between the poles. The law enforcers are not that strict to the scooter riders because first of all, there are too many. They can’t stop every illegal riders. And they are very hard to track, even considering the large amount of cctv cameras in China. Tracking all of them is literally impossible. Another reason is that, cars are not affordable for everyone. But people need a faster way to get around. And public transportation can’t cover every corner of the city. So the e-scooter is the best choice. Third reason is that, people in cities relies heavily on food delivery service and grocery delivery service. People in big cities live a very fast-paced life. There is no time for people to grab groceries in the supermarket and cook a meal, or even go to a restaurant. So the delivery service is heavily used by everyone. And almost all the delivery guys ride scooters. Plus, the delivery service platforms want the food or groceries to be delivered very punctually. So the delivery guys HAVE TO break some traffic rules to make the delivery on time. It is a social dilemma in china. Everyone needs delivery service, but at the same time every one dislikes the rule-breaking delivery guys. One way to solve this dilemma could be that the delivery platforms gives more time for the delivery guys to make deliveries. But by doing so, the platforms that give slower deliveries will quickly be overtaken by those that give faster deliveries. It is very complicated and very hard to solve. For now, we can do nothing but live with it.

The Guangzhou municipal government wanted to control (not ban them) those scooters but a lot of selfish people opposed the idea, they complained if the govt controlled them, they couldn't go shopping, couldn't go to work, couldn't take their children to schools so on, then the govt has to stop not much they can do. That is a big mistake for the govt to develop these scooters, now they can not get rid of them.

In Guangzhou, the pace of life is very fast. Everyone works very hard and doesn't have much time. Food and clothes are basically delivered to the house on time, which is why you see a lot of electric cars, they go fast and you get a chance to experience it

Over 1 million people from Hunan Province live in Guangzhou, so Hunan cuisine in Guangzhou is quite authentic.
There are many delicious foods on Beijing Road, a must-see pedestrian street, and a Cantonese-style restaurant with big head shrimp is recommended.

Haha,you feel it right,GZ is a more livable city compared to SZ,because GZ is more cultural and has thousands of years of history as a trading port,and the renting and housing price in GZ is lower than in SZ.
