Hey there's actually a much more simple way to claim The ship has yours after docking and killing the crew and you'll actually be able to go back to your other ship without even having to leave the area you're in
I’m 8 hours deep and I’m absolutely hook line and sinkered into this game, and I’ve barely scratched the surface. This game is a gem and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Bethesda
Agreed. I’m about 15 hours in and honestly I just feel like I hop on and go, “hmmm, what adventure (rabbit hole) and going to do tonight.” And its always something cool or interesting. Sometimes I don’t even get into any combat. Just dialogue and exploration.
To abscond with higher-class ships (B and C) you'll need to have your piloting skill Rank III or IV, respectively. Now, the hard way to do that is to venture out into space and dogfight everything you see in order to get the kill count required. Or... you can go join the UC Vanguard in the MAST district of New Atlantis (Jemison) and use the flight simulator there. Those kills still count towards your skill totals without risk to your ship or funds.
If you want to unlock Rank 4 of Pilot. Go to the UC recruiter you meet in the beginning of the game near The Lodge. Tell him you want to join. Take the Elevator click on computer to sign up follow rooms until Flight Simulator combat. Do that until Rank 5 if you can beat it. Back out the hatch and back in to do it again. Rinse and repeat until 60 kills if already rank 3 pilot. Also helps to have Skill points banked already.
As another tip/trick... BEFORE you board the ship to take it over, get at least 2 Ship Parts, in case you need to repair the ship after you take it over and make it flyable. once you take over the ship, put the ship parts in the ships inventory, then you can repair it and fly it away.
Register your ship under your own ship's menu settings once you've jumped away from the solar system you got it from.... it's a bit cheaper and you won't need to visit anybody, either.
Head to the Den in the Wolf System when you find contraband (also always check the captain's locker on the bridge for loot separate to the cargo hold, which usually has some contraband in spacer/pirate ships), since they never scan your ship despite being UC territory and you can sell any contraband/stolen loot to the trade authority guy. Its the easiest way to cash in all of that illegal cargo.
@@OscarLopez-uw7of I've never seen any difference between the different Trade Authority stores for how much you get paid for contraband...Its possible, but I've seen nothing to suggest it. Also kind of beside the point as its the location you can access most easily for most of the early game, unless you can access the Key or the Mile. Everywhere else you run the risk of being scanned.
You can capture landed ships without the faff. When exploring a planet, if you see a ship landing, head to the location. If it’s a faction you don’t care for, run onto the ship ignoring the guys outside (or the ship will take off), and murder the crew and claim. For responder ships you need to pick the lock, for pirates it’s not locked.
Registration is a bit cheaper if you just use your tab menu and the ships page. Works anywhere and costs less than the option that doesn't work anywhere. Some Todd-related reason for this, I'm sure.
Stealing ships is currently broken. For better than a week now, ships that land on planets while you're out exploring do not open their landing bay doors, nor does anyone come out. It's not possible to board the ships to steal them. Apparently many, many people have opened tickets about this with support, but so far Bethesda has not given any response or acknowledgement of the bug.
@@dirkdar1 what do u mean how? Doxk, clear the ship, pilot seat, undock, go into menu right after, home ship, register, exit menu, target last ship, dock, board, pilot seat and home ship again.
As someone playing on very hard only. I am appalled at how much damage you can take from enemies. It’s ridiculous on how hard ship battles are on very hard.
Bethesda difficulties have always just been a damage slider, so I'm not surprised lol. Hard is a nice balance for me, but even so, I kinda agree that our ship feels much less tanky than most of our adversaries.
TLDR : unlock targeting skill for ship combat and use it in combat by pressing R. once the engines are down, board the ship, kill the crew and then take the ship for yourself. You'll need to register the ship in order to modify it or sell it.
Can you disassemble, keep modules of stolen ship to use on yours? I presume no need to register it if you just use it's parts? If stripped down does it cost less to register and sell?
@@MolnarG007 Nope. You can only sell what's on one ship (or the whole thing) and buy what is available at whatever ship place you're at. It's like not being allowed mix LEGO sets. Kind of a bummer.

Your reactor should always match your equipment power, it will max fill all your mods on ship, the reactor only needs 1 point in it to work , so for instance if you have 30 reactor/ 30 equipment, it will in fact fill every single mods besides your grav drive even though the grav drive will appear to have missing power, it’s fine, all mods will thus be full and this means you will have fast cool downs and will be able to do more damage than if you have more equipment power vs the reactor ( example - 19 reactor / 15 equipment one of your items will be horrible

There's a way to register the ship where its value is much higher than registering with a technician. I don't remember how. It was a video I saw and can't find anymore. Something about 15 tips etc..
Never register a new ship with the Ship Technician...hit TAB, go to the ship section in the lower left corner then register it from there, you get a major discount if you do it that way.
I need help, I robed one of those ships in the farthes sistem and It has shity reach in hiper jump and now i'm stuck. The planets don't have sivilication and I can't find my old ship, the mantis...
Okay I don't quite have this game yet so this is going to be kind of one of those weird questions after you take over ship when you landed on a planet and then strip it like check all the guys and check the entire ship out before you go to the spacedock and kind of claim the ship or does it not matter because if you get to keep everything on board the ship including all the dead bodies and all their items then by all means that'll be cool something tells me once you register to ship or sell the ship you lose all those items let me know which one it is
All the items in the ship go to the home ship's cargo hold if you change your home ship, so the items don't disappear, but I'm pretty sure what ever you leave on the bodies does. I haven't sold any ships yet, so I'm not sure how that works!
I use the highest level Lazers, turrents and Em weapons and all my weapons are rank 4 and I have no problem with that. I keep all my weapons off , but my lasers, which is low and my EM weapons that are all the way up, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm have an issue with keeping them in my sites long enough to target. I'm higher levels also and usually so is the ships I'm targeting, so it seems like they are flying faster than me and I'm just flying around in circles trying to get them in my target sites. I have arthritis in my hands so it's making it harder to keep it up, but I'm doing it and stay at top speed when the ship lets me hit it, but in most of these battles of trying to take down the ship, it seems like a cat and mouse game where we are going around in circles and it's taking so long and in most the battles, I just give up and turn my turrents and Lasers back up and just finish them to get it over with, because I can't keep on.. What am I doing wrong? I'm almost done with the game and I've just started doing the ship take overs so yeah, I'm sure it's something I'm screwing up, even though it feels like it's the speed of my ship. I have all the constellation crew in my ship and assigned, my piloting is maxed, I have all piloting magazine perks. I'm flying an Autobahn III that I have rebuilt and it's all top of the line parts. Any suggestions?
This does not work for me. After destroying the engines the R key only says target lock even when I am so close to the ship is touching mine. The R key just bring back up that zoomed in screen u use to target the engines no matter how close I am. Is there something else you have to do besides just destroying the engines to dock?
i'm about 35-40hrs in at the moment and although i'm loving it i'm also getting really fed up of the bugs. there are just so many at this stage. Dialogue options which contradict, getting a task to "speak to someone" only to be told they are too busy to talk or they say "hi" and that it, i have to go sit and wait for 2-3hours in game before the missions will allow mw to continue. NPG's randomly walking through walls or speaking to me with their heads turned to either side. i land in MAST and every guard is on the floor dead? why? free loot is great but what on earth caused that? i sit and wait and all the guards come back to life again?? - then you add the terrible fighting gameplay, why can't i cover? shooting through walls, falling through the map etc. so many bugs it's crazy. i know CyberPunk got a lot of stick when it released but i feel as though this is the same or even worse in some areas and hardly anyone is talking about just how crazy buggy this game is.
3 months later, NO. It is owned by Constellation and Walter Stroud, and it wont let you sell. If you dock an enemy ship, though, then you can blow it up.
Is it possible to sell ships? Like capturing a ship and selling it for profit. Also, what happens to your ship after you steal another persons in space?
You have to purchase a license of sorts for the ship that you stole to be allowed access to modify or sell it, so profit isn't really viable that way. Once you steal another person's ship your currently active one is put into storage to switch between at any point
@@ChloricOdin5 You need to buy a license for a certain amount of credits then you can sell the ship or customise it but the credits from selling is small/minimal at best. There are plenty of other way more money making methods out there
@ChloricOdin5 If you are on PC, you can mod the fee. One of my characters is a Pirate and I lowered the fee to 10 percent. Now it make sense to go through the hustle and board a ship. ☠️
Registering a ship at the Ship Services Technician actually costs you more money. After you land the ship, go to the ship in your menu and register there directly, it'll cost you a bunch less than using the Technician... :)
low key the contraband is kind of part of the profit, the ship in the video would only profit like 5k tops after registering, you can spend 5k on med packs
Never actually tried to sell a ship. I’ll look into it. I personally love collecting and customising them for different purposes. I know you can sell parts of the ship by removing parts in the ship builder. Never tried to remove every part to sell 😂
Yes, generally to register the lowest Class A spacer ships costs me 9k and it sells for 10k. So, rebuilding them as a nimble fighter as Nick shows is a better use of the smallest ones…
5 days in and counting. Simply cant get enough of this game. And no, i am not a paid actor ;) this game is fantastic and still has more potential 👏 everyone that complains about this game has missing brain cells.
You have to pay 75 percent of the value just to register? At that point you may as well just buy a new one after all the work and skill points you have to put into it.
Can someone please tell me where to get a lot of credits? I just can’t figure out where to get them. I would love to make my own ships and be able to afford stuff but this game just makes it super hard to get them. I want to do it without any money glitches. I play on hard mode if that makes a difference. Stealing didn’t seem to be very helpful to make money for me at all in any of the shops. It gives me a very small amount.
Unless you’re keeping the ship it’s not worth it. After registering it, you only get approx 1800 credits when you sell it. It is fun though so I guess there’s that😂

Never register a new ship with the Ship Technician...hit TAB, go to the ship section in the lower left corner then register it from there, you get a major discount if you do it that way.
Great video Ali G!
So if you leave a ship Unregistered the only thing that happens is you can't modify it?
I need help, I robed one of those ships in the farthes sistem and It has shity reach in hiper jump and now i'm stuck. The planets don't have sivilication and I can't find my old ship, the mantis...
what happens to the hold contents of your old ship? Does one of your crew fly your old ship to Atlantis?
The teleport to the new home ship's cargo hold if you change the home ship
hey! if you register your ships through the menu-> ship (down left), you pay less
I could even figure out how to add more cargo because when I try to put it on it wouldn't let me
Thanks for the video.
Registration of ships is cheaper in the pause menu rather than at the ship builder.
FYI you can search the ship and remove any contraband before you go to a civilized system if you like to avoid any entanglements with the law.
Are there other enemies you haven't dealt with yet? You can only dock once the other enemies have been taken care of.
If we claim /register a ship then sell it, do we still get access to the ship parts on our outpost pad so that we can build with those models?
Think you just rank up the talent for more to appear
@@Leppo7 thank you.
Btw if you worry about contraband, go search the ship and jettison it out
But but...If the engines have been destroyed/damaged how can you fly the ship back to base? Just wondering.
You fix them.
Big bang gun is the best for short range and midrange and kills instantly
Thank You!. 😃
i'm about 35-40hrs in at the moment and although i'm loving it i'm also getting really fed up of the bugs. there are just so many at this stage.
Nice! Thanks.
can we sell the first ship, the frontier?
3 months later, NO.
It is owned by Constellation and Walter Stroud, and it wont let you sell.
If you dock an enemy ship, though, then you can blow it up.
Is it possible to sell ships? Like capturing a ship and selling it for profit. Also, what happens to your ship after you steal another persons in space?
You have to purchase a license of sorts for the ship that you stole to be allowed access to modify or sell it, so profit isn't really viable that way. Once you steal another person's ship your currently active one is put into storage to switch between at any point
@@LeonHagans you can’t sell it on Sind black market or something? If you can’t that’s insanely lame that it’s not profitable.
@@ChloricOdin5 You need to buy a license for a certain amount of credits then you can sell the ship or customise it but the credits from selling is small/minimal at best.
There are plenty of other way more money making methods out there
@@LeonHagans I know but pirating and selling ships on some kind of black market would’ve been awesome.
@ChloricOdin5 If you are on PC, you can mod the fee. One of my characters is a Pirate and I lowered the fee to 10 percent. Now it make sense to go through the hustle and board a ship. ☠️
You can search the ship and jettison any contraband.
84% of the value of the ship to register - is it worth it?
Do u get a bounty for steel ship
Registering a ship at the Ship Services Technician actually costs you more money. After you land the ship, go to the ship in your menu and register there directly, it'll cost you a bunch less than using the Technician... :)
Thanks for this vid.
The contraband are items in the ship, you put them in the cargo hold and jettison them and you won't have the issue
Or sell at Wolf system, or fast travel from a remote system directly to the surface and without scanned you will be outside of the city, 800m.
low key the contraband is kind of part of the profit, the ship in the video would only profit like 5k tops after registering, you can spend 5k on med packs
If you register in your menu not at the technician st spaceport. You save money
Thank you
I would have already looted the contraband prior to taking the pilot seat.
And sell it to a safe vendor before trying to land in UC or Freestar space.
I've raided to much ships😅 my bounty with UC is over 200k right now🤔
Takes me some time to pay my bounty.
But how do I _sell_ them?.. Do I still need to register them if I'm just looking to flip ships?
Never actually tried to sell a ship. I’ll look into it. I personally love collecting and customising them for different purposes. I know you can sell parts of the ship by removing parts in the ship builder. Never tried to remove every part to sell 😂
I had to register mine first, but I heard there are places you can sell unregistered ships in crimson fleet territory
Yes, generally to register the lowest Class A spacer ships costs me 9k and it sells for 10k. So, rebuilding them as a nimble fighter as Nick shows is a better use of the smallest ones…
This is so cool.
Thats ship in the thumbnail is nice if u can doa vid on it?
Can you destroy the engines in the simulation game
Have you figure out how to rid bodies? After loot them and they stay there forever
Dock, go to edit your ship, change a piece on the ship and save. Bodies are now gone.
Why? I like having bodies all over my ship.
Still seems a bit steep on price after all that work lol
Haha it kinda does but to buy a ship like that is far far more expensive for sure so ultimately it’s worth it. I know what you mean though.
True, 24K for a 29K ship that’s only 5K profit margin. As a percentage, you’re paying something like 80% of the value to register it.
5 days in and counting. Simply cant get enough of this game. And no, i am not a paid actor ;) this game is fantastic and still has more potential 👏 everyone that complains about this game has missing brain cells.
Thanks
You have to pay 75 percent of the value just to register? At that point you may as well just buy a new one after all the work and skill points you have to put into it.
Can someone please tell me where to get a lot of credits? I just can’t figure out where to get them. I would love to make my own ships and be able to afford stuff but this game just makes it super hard to get them. I want to do it without any money glitches. I play on hard mode if that makes a difference. Stealing didn’t seem to be very helpful to make money for me at all in any of the shops. It gives me a very small amount.
Don't forget the captains locker for loot
Unless you’re keeping the ship it’s not worth it. After registering it, you only get approx 1800 credits when you sell it.
It is fun though so I guess there’s that😂
There's a coffee you can add in a text file to adjust the% of the registration. Now the fee is 20% making 80% profit. If on PC that is. Nexus ftw
