Why I'm Switching To The iPhone (after using Android for over 5 years!)

- 2017 marked the year I first started using Android phones. It was the beginning of my true smartphone experience that took me through all of my middle school and most of my high school years, with an impromptu pandemic thrown in of course. However recently, I’ve reached a set of crossroads when it comes to my next phone buying decision, keep carving down my traditional Android path, or mix things up by picking an Apple iPhone. Even though I’m in a heavily Googleified ecosystem, I chose the latter option after copious amounts of contemplating, (ask my friends if you don’t believe me). And for the foreseeable future, I’ll be an iPhone user, which means I’ve got a lot of learning to do as a first timer and will be taking you along the ride throughout.

Great video. The biggest problem I’ve seen with lifelong switchers is they often refuse to accept the new OS on it’s terms. Too many get stuck and frustrated looking for their past experience. They don’t research how Windows, Android or Mac will do something differently, but try to “guess” based on how the previous system operated. Wasted hours, sometimes days. Many just go back to what they KNOW. Just like never accepting a new girlfriend by constantly comparing her to the last one and trying to get her to be like her always ends badly, doing the same with a new OS will too.
I've been a long time android User, Since 2011, then Switched to an iPhone X in 2017, while having the same mentality you mentioned, 3 Months later I sold the iPhone X and Got myself a Galaxy S9, back in December 2020 I gave iOS another chance with a different point of view, and I was so happy with it. it offered me a lot of options and helped me do some tasks better, I will say it was the best Experience I ever had with a device. 2 years later ( this month) I switched back to Android, and depending on the circumstances I might switch again to iOS.
@@FaresDjebbar lol, exactly! It’s obvious you love different experiences. You found out LEARNING to do something differently, gets you to the fun part-DOING something differently.
Just got an iPhone 14 after 7 years. I had an iPhone 4. I am still keeping my s21 ultra because I am really deep in my Samsung ecosystem.
Also got an M1, so I am going to see which ecosystem would be better.
Great video!
That was my issue lol, I've had my s10 since drop day and bought pretty much every accessory, now I have to drop 500 on a watch and 200 on some earbuds
@@kimocruz3584 hahaha it's not easy fam.
Switched from being a Samsung users for nearly half a decade to an iPhone 14 pro max. It was foreign and exciting. I got used to iOS after a couple of days and am still getting more familiar.
Honestly couldn’t be happier. It feels so smooth and battery life is AMAZING compared to my previous android phones. My phone lasts the whole day with an average of 8 hours SOT.
One gripe I have with iPhone though is that Bluetooth does not sound as good as my Samsung.
Ayy, I can download songs videos and movies for free on my samsung s22, Can you do that on the 14 pro max ? 😉😆
I also can use ldac codec with my sony wf1000xm4 not AAC, Can you do that on the 14 PM ? 😆
@Dr Aly Elashry The difference between the 2 is negligible on my xm4 headphones. And yes, you can download movies on anything that is connected to the internet
@Heman
Impossible, there is a huge difference if you turn LDAC on, Because I have 13 pro max and I tried wf1000xm4 on both phones with ldac on my s22 and extreme on my 13 pro max
There is huge difference in sound quality and how louder it's on my s22.
iphone only good at making phone speakers better also haptics on the iphone is slightly better.
But for real, Do you ever care about your phone speakers that much ?
I never use it I always have my ear buds on my ears.
For haptics my s22 have more vibration utilities , and it doesn't affect my battery tbh
I even have my keyboard haptics on, and I get 6 hours sot.
I’m doing the opposite right now. After sticking with iPhones for the last 6 years, I will switch back to Android for my main phone. I bought an iPhone 14 pro after my XS’ camera microphone seized to work. I returned it because I was incredibly unsatisfied with the call quality and the jittery camera that felt rather hit or miss compared to my old XS. I ordered a Pixel 6a which should arrive this week, just to see what pure stock Android has to offer compared to iOS these days.
Oh man the pixel 6 is the absolute worst pixel made. I owned the 3.4.5.then the 6 completely ruined Google and pixel for me. They sent out a hot mess with a low quality modem. Defective screen and terrible speakers. You won’t be happy it is also a giant brick of a phone . For what it has it is too heavy and bulky the camera line bump is hideous also
@@mikecarr1484 I agree. But I still love Pixel. So I will eventually upgrade from the "5" to the "7" or "7a". I always use a case so the "camera bump" is not an issue.
My first Android was in 2010, just switched to iPhone this year. Both are getting very close to each other. I found they are plus and minus of each.
Had Samsung phones all my life, had the S22U and the battery life and stuttery everything was such a massive let down that I cracked and bought my first iPhone ever. The 14 Pro Max. I gotta say, it's pretty refreshing to see everything so smooth and easy to interact with. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but Apple has a long way to go in terms of stock apps. It feels like apps on old versions of TouchWizz had more features or were better developed. And the phone didn't give me that much of a wow factor as I was promised but the one thing I searched for is finally here and that is battery life. It feels fantastic to not have to care about the battery life no matter if I'm gaming or using the phone normally, especially if I use it normally.
Judging by the leaks, the S23U won't be that amazing but the S24 series may have me back depending on what they cook up.
Ya bro i didnt know if anyone else had problems with the s22u im switching to the 15u
@@sumanoharmulagala2137 Check the samsung subreddit. Exynos S22U got quite a lot of complaints actually.
Happened exactly the same to me. Changed from the S22U due to Battery drainage and stuttering, to the Iphone 14 Pro Max. I have been enjoying it a lot, specifically the fluidity and quickness of the system.
You dont need to press back button at the top left to go back, you can swipe from left side of the screen to the right with your thumb to go back, its on of the best features for me. Also, while watching the video i thought you are a bigger youtuber, considering the quality of the video and editing. Good Job
I switched back to apple for the 13 pro max and I hated the back button at the top, and even the side swipe to go back didn’t feel great to me. Now that I’ve gotten the hang of it it’s so much better than a dedicated back button. I still have a Samsung tablet, the S6, and almost every time I use it I catch myself trying to swipe back on the screen and then have to go all the way down to the bottom right to touch the tiny back button. In fact now that I’ve gotten used to iOS I like everything about it better than android, it just took some getting use to.
Does that swipe back gesture work in iMessage?
@@ziklagfire3453 it should work
@@ziklagfire3453 it does work
I sit next to him in second period, bro just came to school with an iPhone and blew me away. Good video jasper.
Calm down he doesn’t have a gold play button yet
@@bradylyons3281 Nah he'll have one soon enough
I switch to my I phone 13 Mini when I feel I'm spending too much time with my Pixel 6. I spend much less time messing about needlessly on the I phone. Both OS have their pros and cons
The production quality of your videos are great considering the amount of subs you have !! Continue making videos like this ! (Subbed btw)
Thanks for the comment! I've been working on improving the production value and I'm glad it's getting noticed!
Been a android user since day 1 I legit had the first Samsung galaxy and I have finally switched to iPhone after all this time. I’ve had it about a month and I can this phone is 1000x better then any android I have and I’ve had quite a few. Simply iPhone is BETTER IN EVERY DAY!
Yeah bullshit.
I’ve been using an iPhone for the last 2 years and one area it’s complete garbage is when it comes to an offline music player.
My friend Timothy tay's mum upgrade to the iPhone 14 she never had a iPhone in her life she loves it cause it is purple
Easy to use after getting it unboxed
I changed from the S8 to the iPhone 12. Leaving aside the nuances and peculiarities of a different ecosystem that one has to adapt to, there are problems with iOS that is making me consider moving back to Android.
There are many good aspects of iOS and it can offer a very rewarding experience, but there’s plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of software issues, some of which have gone unfixed since 14.0 - when I first got the phone it was 13.X, now at 16.2 it’s still there.
What issues? Name them please
iPhone 12 on iOS 13.x …. Hmmmm interesting
@@levipb1403
If you subscribe to Apple Music, and add a song to your playlist with songs you already own. Then if your subscription lapses, everytime you open the playlist you get warnings about being unable to play songs.
If you close an app and re-open it, most of the time the app crashes again within a few seconds. So you have to open it again. This is one of the most annoying things for me, sometimes apps do not refresh so I force close and open and then it crashes.
The worst one in iOS 15 (no longer on iOS 16) was that mobile data would be ridiculously slow. I would have to toggle it on and off several times a day.
A lot of people have battery drain issues, I’ve fortunately only had that once in iOS 14 but never after that.
You should have a look yourself online for bugs and see what may affect you. What affects you may not be an issue for you
@@kenadams2459 Apologies it was 14.x, most likely 14.1. I can’t remember the version exactly as I got it when it first released and there a number of incremental upgrades since
@@motorradtyp so you'd say everything you used to complain about has been solved?
Just got my first iPhone after using android throughout my life
The funniest posts are the ones saying they had bad experiences with Apple devices. Apples gives a better user based experience than any other phone on the market. They just work. Literally.
On the android side of things… companies stuff every piece of tech “just because” with low quality user based experiences. And then get mad when people say “Apple just works and is a better user experience”. Which makes people say the iPhone the best .. it’s based off user based experience and premium devices. I don’t agree with apples pricing at all , but as far as making products that make you HOOKED.. they have it on locked.
, android defenders fail to realize they are not in completion with Apple … they are in competition with other brands of android.
These users ignore two things..
1. The many companies of android
2. The android OS being different on every android device. Their is no cohesiveness about “android” , that’s where the Pixel lines take up space (rightfully so) back at the top of ANDROID, as other companies continue dividing the android experience.
Also - for those screaming customizations .. I need to know what adult has time to mock up their phone. Yes, customization is dope - and it gives a fun user experience. But what Apple OFFERS is a SIMPLISTIC POLISHED OS that has yet to be beat.
Literally, if Apple had customizations and multi screen mode … android would be down bad. Samsung can’t save you , pixel can’t either.
Meanwhile , Chinese and Asian markets are showing android based companies “how to do a phone” lol - that’s androids completion. Not Apple.
When your first point is about popularity then you need to find new friends
I made the jump to iPhone (when I iPhone 14,came out)
And I feel the iPhone 14 pro max,is the best thing functioning phone I’ve used
And yes it’s a few things that I miss from Samsung
But not enough to make me go back
After yawing android phones for years,I’ll never go back to any android
And it’s for one reason and one reason only!
(Battery life!)
My Samsung galaxy buds plus works perfectly with my iPhone 13 pro.
After using android for 11 years i also shifted to apple ecosystem few months back. It has some cons with the pros as android does.
I finally broke down and bought an iphone. I STILL use my Pixel phone to carry. But I paid $45 for an original iphone SE (no SIM card) for ONE reason. When the grand kids come over their mom can track their air tags. It makes her feel better...for $45. Otherwise I would not have an iphone in my house. Apple is a company that PURPOSELY makes their phones impossible for 3rd parties to repair. I mean, Apple goes OUT OF THEIR WAY to design parts so only Apple can repair them. That is disgusting. Plus Apple is SO slow to innovate.
I'm going to switch from Samsung A53 to IPhone 14 plus and I'll probably see some differences. I've been an Android (mostly Samsung) user for 8 years and I wanna have a temporary change with iPhone (along having an iPad as well). I already got used with the ui, but I'll see in the future. I like watching these videos to inform myself about other's opinions about switching to iPhone
i had the A52 and went to the base 14 and while there isnt much difference in the feel of general usage, i can guarantee that the iphone will still work in 5 6 years just fine with a battery swap while i probably wont say the same about the samsung device. my gf still uses her 7 plus and it works just fine while i swapped 3 android phones in that time
First smartphone I had was an Iphone 4, the rest has only been androids. This week I switched to an iphone 14 pro max, and man I am really enjoying this phone more than any android I had. Everything is more fluid, better integrated etc. But it's an expensive phone, so on a budget android is for sure better but if u can afford it Id recommend iphone.
tbf you can't compare the 14 pro max with any of the cheaper androids, you should only be comparing it with the s22 ultra, the fold 4, or the ultimate flagships from each android brand.
@@UCjhIfO yes, I wasnt trying to compare it to a cheap android. I am merely trying to explain that I enjoy the iphone more than I have any android these past 10 years. And I've always had a 'flagship' when it was new. And my work phone is s22 as well. iphone is way more smooth than any android I've had.
Good for you ! Definitely the iPhone is a better phone now
I’m also planning to switch iphone due to software updates until 5years or more compared to androids only 3years.
I've used Oneplus for over 5 years and decided to try iPhone 12PM for 2 months. The worst 2 months of my life.
Just swipe to go back!
I had to switch to iPhone because of security issues and overall simpliness. Android phones nowadays are just full of ads everywhere on it and doesn't feel "mine" or personal somehow.
Bro I am in same confusion. Would love to see your update journey.
I've bought my first iphone, it's amazing👏👏👏😍😍😍
Switched to iPhone 8 about 5 or 6 years ago and just upgraded to iPhone 13 a few months ago, I prefer apple now
Who cares ? Just change ! It’s just a matter of preference ! Not a big deal !
Hey, thanks for the video. Nice job….. for me one of the big problems with iPhones is the stupid screen you cant set it up the way you want. It always moves.
Anybody going for the 14 plus? Pro Max models are quite expensive here and I want big battery and display so I'm going for plus
I've been using android all my life and I love it but as I'm growing I spend less time on my phone and I'm beginning to value battery life over anything customisation is cool but I'm past it heck my wallpaper has been black for the past 3 years (ik changing wallpaper barely counts as customisation but I'm just trying to give a reference)...I've used samsung, Gionee, real me and currently rn on a OnePlus 7 (base variant) with 75% battery health and I wanna switch to ios just for the battery but then again I might miss some android features...I think the main reason most switch to iphone is due to their battery and reliability, yes customisation is cool but with time you get over it
That's largely how I've felt as well. I find I use my phone much more as a companion to my laptop and need it mostly for the essential tools it provides. The reliability in exchange for some of the fun of android was certainly a trade off at first but I've grown to appreciate the iPhone for what it is now.
Was an android user for 11 years switched to iPhone 13 Pro Max and will never go back
I won't be able to switch to Iphone for a few reasons. One is because Iphone charge for everything. 2nd iPhone won't let you do customization like Android phone will let you do. 3rd and MAIN REASON is iPhone is funding and fighting the customer on the right to fix or repair their own device.
Not worth it!! I regret it! The dynamic island isn't even good, I'd take the notch any day!
Mistake, just switched off iPhone and never going back.
I've always been a big Samsung fan, ever since I first got the S8+ and then S10+, S10 5G, Z Fold 2 and finally S22 Ultra.
For the first time ever, I've moved over to Apple 😮! I've got the iPhone 14 Pro Max and...it...just..works!
Battery life - Amazing! Camera (especially video) - Amazing! Animations - Amazing! Ecosystem - Amazing!
I always was a "die hard" fan and would argue with Apple users but it was just a biased view until I actually got it myself!
I'll probably get a lot of hate for this haha 😆
Yes there are features that iPhones do not have (both hardware and software) but they surely know how to create a holistic experience with what they give and that is why Apple always comes out on top and Samsung doesn't (and I am convinced that the S23 series will also be the same)
Nice video. Did you have any issues with moving your text messages over to imessage?
There's a move to iOS app that is supposed to transfer over your Android messages when switching. However when I switched, I was having problems with that app and just decided to start fresh without transferring over everything. It's kind of a toss-up with it transferring over or not. Thanks for your comment!
@Tech Device News this is my fear about switching.
I told, Goggle stopped innovate, it is trying to copy Apple, whatever they do. Why buy a copy if you can buy an original? Google even stopped supporting DSD. It is the biggest shame.
You are switching because you have now money to buy iPhone
I have both 😅
Good luck

the andriod users mad 😭😭
Ok now the iPhone is a great phone, but in the beginning definitely Android was better 😅
Maybe you shouldn't buy an iPhone 13 instead of samsung s22, my dude you made the worst mistake ever 😆😆😆
Switching to IOS is filing for bankruptsy, as their eco system is rich mans world.
I made the switch a year ago and love it more all the time
It took you 5 years 😂
who cares

Get Sony WH-1000XM4
Ok great, you'll now know how bad and overpriced Apple products are.
Did you watch the video first or just jump straight into the hate bandwagon??

There's nothing wrong with an iPhone, and this is coming from someone who uses Android. They both have their pros and cons to them. Quit being immature
@@levipb1403 I'm an android user and I don't have plans to buy an iPhone even if I could afford it, if he had watched even the first 3 minutes he would have seen how the pros and cons of having an iPhone are layed out really well.
fuck android
Do you know apple cult Inc hard bricks your iPhone when your phone's software is outdated and will lock your precious data and memories with it and only option to review phone is through Formatting your phone clean
I did the same thing. I just got a 12 for $300 and its AMAZING. I love droids but iphone is clearly WAY better
In every single aspect Samsung is way better. Bro the photos on Apple suck they're way to processed and you can't even zoom. I love seeing all these die hard apple fans who don't understand a thing about technology. Samsung has 100x zoom and way better colors, charging speed, battery optimization and cameras. But still, the battery on Apple sucks in every single model, which they overprice for the specs. FYI iphone 11 for 500 is way too much for the specs which are outdated and crap. Please research before. P.S (old die hard iphone user)
@@nachos9961who the fck want to use 100x zoom crappy photo 😂😂
I agree. The battery life on an iphone can vary a lot depending on model. The iPhone 13/14 is pretty good, but the 12 which I have had reduced capacity and can drain quite quickly
@@nachos9961 the battery optimization part has to be a joke, the s22U barely gets u 7 sot before dying and the 13pm/14pm get like 10hrs atleast
