Please give this video a thumbs up if you learned something new today! Let me know in the comments if you want a version of this video going over the sampling process.
hey Zoe, if its possible maybe ask mariah (the patternmaking lady) if its possible if we could have a grading tutorial. Would be amazing if she was cool with it ☺️
Yes yes yes please for the same video in sampling process version! That’s where I am!!! 🤪😁🙏🏼 Thank you for all this knowledge you share with us. I’m repeating what a lot have already said, but you are very very on point and ulllllltra helpful for us all 🙌🏼
Zoe, thank you. You are not just a teacher, you are a true college for me. I will owe u part of my success on my brand gets huge. Love from Brazil. Love the long videos btw, when u go really deep in the subject. xoxo
Ooooh this is so emotional it's the same for me too Zoe represents a lot in my life today is thanks to her I'm standing out in my area much love Zoe from west Africa ❤️❤️😍
I'm watching your entire playlist on how to start a fashion company and so far I'm loving it. It's a lot of info and I'm going to have to watch it again 😅 but that's how I know I'm learning something new. Thank you for these, you're a blessing in my life.
I love the GIA Halter Black Dress and the Corsets with Chains, hope they all sold very well! Thanks for giving so much valuable information that so many people that will like to get into The Fashion Industry don't know that they don't know. We are so fortunate that someone like you make these videos and share the information!
Yes, your illustrations are really nice and all, but it’s this kind of video which shows me that you’re really in the know of industrial production. Good for you. And I commend you for at least superficially explaining these fundamentally important things about our industry to all of those people who think they might want to go into fashion. Learning about the real industry is how people can decide if they’re actually up to the challenge or they just like doodling fantasy dresses…
Fully fashioned knit sleeves can be sewn to the body of the garment with a seam. The shape of the sleeve will be formed by adding and subtracting stitches. Love your videos!
I see. That makes sense but also makes the term a little misleading. Obviously not your fault. I do know the cut and sew sweater example I used is cut and sew because that's how the designer labeled it.
Currently this semester I am enrolled in a STOLL computerized knitting class and Tech design in the fashion industry. Both have been so helpful to understand the minute details that go into the production of a garment.
I've been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now(just subscribed). You're a great teacher. You present necessary information honestly and concisely. No time is wasted with mind numbing bull.... Though I'm not in the fashion biz, other than buying and wearing it ,I'm loving what you're offering as a person, as a talent. Thank you.
It’s so interesting you’ve only ever graded a T shirt. At Fidm we grade bodice, sleeve, pant, and skirt and knits by hand and write grade rules for all of them. We have a whole class dedicated to grading and marking and 2 just focusing on Gerber pattern making.
Zach T oh so cool do you have any video on that I'm someone who don't know about the rules I'm so interested in grading please send me anything that can help a link or anything 🙏🏾🙏🏾😊
I have been trying to find a video like this for weeks and you, as per usual, swoop in to save the day. Thanks so much! Definitely want one about the sampling process!
Super helpful! Thank you Zoe! Is it possible that we get deeper into the science of washes .. with names and some more details? I’m trying to find more details on treatments and it seems that it’s like a business secret or something.
Your videos and your channel are very educative and interessant(idk how to write ;)) thanks for sharing your "wisdow"(serious, you'really smart) in this topics you're great!!
There are a lot of different scenarios to consider, like your trust level in the fabric mill, the shipping costs and locations of the mill and the manufacturer, your turnaround time...
Hey Zoe ...I'm having college fashion show (Fashionova) in July where I'm a student designer ...so for that can you please suggest me some themes to make a collection out of it !!!!
Go visit museums and walk around until something catches your attention. From that piece, research the art, the artist, the art's genre, the time period, what else was happening at the time, and so forth. Don't paint the art directly on clothes. Let the concept develop with your research.
Oh so important lesson here I really beg Zoe to explain how to grade patterns I really have blocks there or invite someone who can do it pleeeeeaaaaaaase
Yes, it's smart to start small. Rothys started with one shoe, Ralph Lauren started with selling neckties, Vera Wang started with only wedding dresses, etc
@@zoehongteaches i am always afraid to start thinking am not ready yet, I think starting small would make it easier for me to swallow, thank you for all your content and motivation really❤❤

Zoe you are a God send!
Super helpful! Thank you Zoe! Is it possible that we get deeper into the science of washes .. with names and some more details? I’m trying to find more details on treatments and it seems that it’s like a business secret or something.
You need to talk to a wash house, I don't know enough. I used to tell people the effect I was going for, and they would show me options.
Fair enough! It’s a business secret then. Thank you!!!
I didn't say that it's a business secret. Maybe they would have told me if I asked but that wasn't my priority at the time to learn the nitty gritty.
Love your videos 💕
I’m learning a lot
Keep it up 👍🏽
Love your videos

6:52 I've heard of stories of startup brands testing every other size to cut costs.
I've heard of it but I don't recommend it for every type of garment.
This was so helpfull thank you
You're welcome!
Cool Video.. You're talented! You should upload on Talents at FirstFate App..
those fast sketches are great tho
Thanks!
Great
Do you order the fabric straight to the manufacturer or do you ship it to yourself the. Ship it to the manufacturer?
There are a lot of different scenarios to consider, like your trust level in the fabric mill, the shipping costs and locations of the mill and the manufacturer, your turnaround time...
I love you Zoe ur d best 👏✌
But how do you find factories who grade for us. And it must be expensive to grade per item.
Yes it is expensive, you could find them on LinkedIn or google searches definitely can help you too!

Love your videos. Please show silhouettes inspired by the humming birds. Please
Thank you, but I have no idea what you're talking about.
Zoe Hong what i meant to ask is if u can you design a collection inspired by humming birds i’d be grateful
Oh so important lesson here I really beg Zoe to explain how to grade patterns I really have blocks there or invite someone who can do it pleeeeeaaaaaaase
In Africa I don't see anybody grading there outfits
Where did you find your sketch template?
I make them and sell them at shop.zoehong.com
Zoe, hello, I wanna make sure i heard that right :") people who start really small are really "smart"??
Yes, it's smart to start small. Rothys started with one shoe, Ralph Lauren started with selling neckties, Vera Wang started with only wedding dresses, etc
