I thought this was a video I already watched but am SO, SO glad I kept it on just a bit longer to see that I hadn't. This video answered so many questions for me!!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Zoe. A week or so ago I stumbled across your channel and LOVE what you are doing. I am not a fashion designer, but am learning and benefiting anyway. Actual fashion designers, fashion design students, or those who are seriously thinking of entering the field will be SO enriched by watching you!!!
Hi Zoe , I really like your no "BS " attitude ! Thank - you for keeping it real and I like the businesses you featured in this video 👍 !!! Wishing you much success with your channel ... I hope many more will find you !!!
Hey professor, I love Trade shows considering I only do one a year as an employee for a wholesaler. I love seeing your interview process as a industry professional. It really shows how comfortable you should be speaking with people but it also helps me think of beneficial questions to plan to win vs leaving and thinking “I didn’t ask...” Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Zoe!! Very informative and straightforward. I appreciate that you take the time to make these vids! You are helping out so many people including myself. Thank you again!
Right on time!! I asked the question on Instagram yesterday or day before and voila!!!, you gave me a great video!! You are amazing! Thank you so much!!
Hi Zoe, I just found your channel and I’ve been watching and saving so many videos! I have a question. How do you source dead stock fabric? But to sell as a small fabric store? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hey zoe ! I m a fashion student nd i learnt more from u than i ever could from my uni . Thnx for that ❤️ i m stuck in my design process. My inspiration is greek mythology and i have researched about it bt it is so vast nd i m kinda lost now I can’t figure out in which direction should i go now for my designs . Could you suggest something?
Well, I'm not Zoe, and am only an aspiring designer, but I hope I can help you. My tip is: Brainstorm it. Brainstorm everything, your fabrics, your themes, do a list of favorite myths and characters, put it all on paper. Then choose one word or branch of words and roll with it. OR, if you don't like brainstorming, simply choose your favorite character/myth/theme, like say Odysseus/Eros and Psyche/hubris. What I mean is: limit your choices, believe me you have material for various collections within your research. Best of luck ;)
Do textile mills/manufacturers ever dye their fabrics in house? Or do they send it out to a dye house? Do dyers dye greige goods by dying the fabric? Or do they dye the threads before they are woven into fabric?
Great video thank you! Where would you recommend buying stretch cotton hacci fleece for hoodies? I'm from the Uk and I just dont know where to buy it here in the states online. Thank you!!! Best Wishes. Tania
How can we identify the quality, for example in order to produce a decent quality for a clothing line. A fabric that is really strong and keeps its quality after washing it for example.
Business law applies to the city, state, county, country the business is located, not where you live and not where you ship to. Hire a lawyer for more info that applies to you specifically.
Hi Zoe, you’re hilarious at the way you talk. The sound of ur laughter always makes me laugh. I love you no homo.💐💞 Please if a fabric company ask’s one for the weight of fabric they may want for a fabric swatch, what would you say the weight should be? Thanks.🙏🏽
The weight completely depends on what you're looking for. Heavy charmeuse? Lightweight denim? Winter coating? Every category of fabric uses a different measure. Silks go by mommes, denims go by ounces, etc.
Thank you so much for uploading this nice video!! I have a question Joe. I am on a stage to need to make a decision of which fabrics to pick(doing a bunch of test of them). I recognized some company sent me not great shape swatch(stain on it) and some of them sent me wrong swatch and their list of swatch is different than what I got. Some company don't respond very good. Are this yellow light sign or just something to deal with since I am new in this industry? Thank you so much!! :)
The last one must be from India. They are slow but they do small quantities. Even when it comes to manufacturing, the minimums tend to be as little as 50 pieces in different sizes delivered all over the world.

How do you find Taylors for your designs ?
Do the Magic Show next please... or any other show you may recommend. Pretty please. 🌺
I would like to see your view on how companies sell their product and how to deal with the overwhelming competition when trying to set up a brand.
Great video thank you! Where would you recommend buying stretch cotton hacci fleece for hoodies? I'm from the Uk and I just dont know where to buy it here in the states online. Thank you!!! Best Wishes. Tania
Zoe I am trying to jump in to jean’s and t shirt business I have only selling sides experience. Would you guide me some books I can learn from .
Can you recommend a fabric supplier for home decor items?
how come you don't have ads on the video, you're a RUclips star already
How can we identify the quality, for example in order to produce a decent quality for a clothing line. A fabric that is really strong and keeps its quality after washing it for example.
You need to order some sample yardage and test it to your standards yourself. Make some samples, do some wash tests.
Hi Zoe, how does doing business work when you are selling online all over not just "where you live? Does the same law apply?
Business law applies to the city, state, county, country the business is located, not where you live and not where you ship to. Hire a lawyer for more info that applies to you specifically.
Hey hey ! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Hi Zoe, do you have any videos on trade shows?
a few 'jobbers' i know of in london
soho
commercial road [inbetween shadwell and whitechapel]
brick lane
I was there! Wish I saw you.
Excelenteeee thanksss !!
you're welcome!
I Love youuuu thanksss !!! Never stop !! You are Amazing !!
I'm a fabric sales rep. Thought about taking a class on textiles. Any suggestions?
I don't know of any textiles courses outside a design program but I do have a fabrics playlist. Link in description box.
How do we find "jobbers" or find a way to buy fabric other than through typical "fabric stores" like Michael's or Joann's?
Thank you so much for uploading this nice video!!

Thank you so much!! :)
Try one more time. Be polite, clear, and specific. If they don't improve or still don't respond, move on.
That's a cute fabric~
Brian is cute and I like him
Thank you!
you're welcome!
Where were you when I went to uni 9 years ago :'(
Can design students attend the LA Textile show?
Ask them
The last one must be from India. They are slow but they do small quantities. Even when it comes to manufacturing, the minimums tend to be as little as 50 pieces in different sizes delivered all over the world.
Informative
I need company name of faishon fabrics supplier.
Please help me
❤❤❤
I literally feel like I’m being yelled at by my Korean mom. It’s harsh
LA Textile is not much of a show anymore.
