    I never realized how diverse the fashion industry is. It certainly can appeal to a wide variety of interests and even switches in majors within the higher education system. I wish there was a guide like you way back in the "Crustacean Age." 💖
    You hat is fab!

    Recommend: looking for schools that have transfer programs or sister schools and you’ll have an easier time getting accepted and you shouldn’t have to repeat any courses- they accept them as equivalent. If it’s elective courses check to see if they are transferable at the school you plan to go to next.

    Happy New Year, Zoe. I just have to say that anyone who has had to wait eons of time to see a school counselor for the kind of information that you gave us all here has got to know how rare it is to get good, I mean thorough, detailed and thoughtful information that's actually, hello, useful has got to be forever grateful. It changes lives for the better to go to the right school, feel like you fit in with their program and begin building the career foundation of the rest of your life. Huge! You laid it all out for us, thanks so much!! Great hat btw.

    in Britain , I did a HND- 2 years undergraduate course. you have the option to top-up to a degree afterwards, which will take 1 extra year to complete. A HND is an alternative for those who want to do more practical work, such as pattern cutting, CAD, garment construction and textile practice. It's equivalent to two years of a degree There are some academic work, but it's not a priority. Some academic work include essays on contextual studies and professional development. I did not do the degree top-up.

    Hi Zoe, I've been devouring your podcast videos recently. Thank you for all the information and your dedicated work!
    In your first one, you spoke about winning awards on your own merit through design competitions.
    My question: do you know of any other similar design competitions that are offered or places to look for them?
    Thanks for your time!

      @zoehongteaches  Год назад

      That was a long time ago and those orgs are long gone. The best way to find out about competitions is to keep up to date with fashion news because they announce competition winners all the time. fashionunited.com, wwd.com, vogue business, you can sub to them or sub to their twitter feeds.

    im 24, going on 25 this year. Im a little late to the school game. But I found a program for bfa in fashion design. I have no experience besides when i mess around and make things at home. I have no idea what im doing.

    • @zoehongteaches
      @zoehongteaches  5 месяцев назад

      most people don't have any idea what they're doing. 25 is not that late, not that old. go for it, don't let these small inconveniences get in the way of your dreams.

    The only school in my city that offers a fashion program is a fashion diploma. It offers all the same courses for a degree but it’s a 12 month program. It’s MC college. Do you think getting a fashion design diploma would be a waste of time? Or do you think it would still be worth it?

    • @zoehongteaches
      @zoehongteaches  Год назад +2

      Ask the school what kind of jobs you can get with that kind of diploma.
