how is the Image (as in Picture) quality? Does it do the same job as a smartphone for example?
When connected to the smartphone or tablet is it still true with the newer ax53 that you cant see on the LCD what the camera is looking at ? If so, is it possible to still see through the viewfinder ? I ask cause I'm looking for a camera where I can have a cameraman operating the camera while still being able to see remotely what him and the camera are looking at so that I can direct him appropriately without having to runover to him.

Thanks for getting to the sustenance - nice tutorial...Question - do you loose "manual" control when operating through a "Smart" device. I have my ax-100 connected to my iPad and DON"T want auto-focus, but I can't seem to control the "controls" - is my only option in using my iPad to have the camera Auto-Focus - do you know of a way to keep it on manual focus. I do a lot o moving and don't want it constantly "hunting" for focus points...any help would be great - thanks!

With a good lighting kit do you think the Sony ax33 would be a good camera for shooting green screen footage? I am trying to upgrade from my t2i dslr and Im trying to decide between the t6i and the ax33 I need a good camera that will do well indoors and outdoors. Im from Arizona and the t2i had over heating issues thats why im looking into a camcorder.
I prefer dslr cameras over camcorders. Their image is usually sharper and you have the ability to buy different lenses. Either one can be used for green screen. I'd recommend a 70d or 80d since they have better autofocus than the t6i.
Hey. Is ut still possible to do this? I have the FDR-AX33 and an iPhone SE. Is the app still available? Has the name changed? I'd love to put my camera to use (streaming live) but I really need some help. I'm also on a Macbook Pro, if it's possible to do anything that way?
How long do you think the battery will last connected to the phone?
I want to control the camcorder and control multi cameras at the same time, not one or the other. Can any camcorders do this?

How can you remove demo mode. We use it for live-streaming but just leave it on and plugged in connect to streaming software and every 10 minutos logos start popping up like Sony brand, handyman etc and I saw that it happens bc it’s only on but not being used. Can that be turned off?
Hi RUclipsrs. Need your advice. I have recently bought a Lenovo Y910 Laptop and a Sony FDR AX33 camera for a RUclips new live-streaming project. It’s not purposed for money making but more for events streaming. Now, the laptop features the following ports: 1 HDMI, 1 Display Port and 4 regular USB 3.0, plus a USB type C. Then the AX33 features HDMI out and a multifunctional micro usb.
Question: what setup should I use in order to achieve live streaming from the camera to RUclips through the laptop, on which the Transcoding+Streaming software is XSplit Pro? What cables are needed? And finally, is there any (really any) setup that could help me to achieve the goal without buying an extra Capture Card and to only use what I have now plus just some cabling?

You need a capture card. I'd recommend Cam link from El Gato. While there are softwares out there, they output at a sub-standard FPS and it looks terrible.

I'm not sure about the first question and I'm pretty sure you can't view it from 2 devices simultaneously.

@@lndlcy You need a HDMI capture card connected to your PC or Mac to stream with Sony camcorders. At least for the AX-33 and AX-53 you do. Something like one of these - www.amazon.com/hdmi-capture-card/s?k=hdmi+capture+card.

AX53 is a great camera with enough optical zoom, digital zoom is not indicated

Your PlayMemory App icon (3:30), is different to what I see in Play Store. I can't find the one you have on your mobile.

I have an android phone... i have the playmemories app as well. when i scan the qr code it does the same.. the actual camera on the screen it says "controlling with smartphone" but when i try to connect to it via wifi, and by the app it says internet is not available what can I do to fix this? im searching for it, but finding no information

This video is almost 6 years old. I don't think the original app is available anymore.
FYI: The app is no longer available and Sony replaced it with a new name; "Imaging Edge" in the app stores with a whopping 1.6 stars.

I have have the Sony Handycam 16.6 with 30X Zoom and we start to record and it goes into standby and shuts off you have to take the battery out of the back we are plug it back in start recording again it goes back into standby mode and turns off and it freezes up and you can't get it into record without pulling the battery off again do you know anything about this

Don't think it has multiple mics.
The sound with this camera is awesome, whether it's at a drag strip or picking up the sounds in a forest (birds, water, etc..). I get a lot of positive feedback about the sound quality of my videos.

For the AX-53 the specs say you can Live stream with Ustream. I imagine setting that up is more pain in the butt, than what you just did.

Yes, for facebook would be perfect ! The only way i could find so far, is using an HDMI to MicroUSB converter with the CameraFi app (android)... not sure wich converter i should buy... and even the simplest way for streaming to Ustream looks very complicated... your advice would be very much appreciated !

Hi, I've got the Sony Fdr-Ax33 camera. I've got a problem. When I shoot 20 minutes or longer videos, when I transfer my videos to the computer, my videos are divided into two. Example: 20 minutes video is displayed in two separate files as 10 minutes on the computer. How can I solve this problem. I want my long videos in a single file. I don't want every 10 minutes to be a separate file. I want my long videos in one file. I would be very grateful if anyone helps?

I MODIFIED MY SONY FDR-AX33 4K CAM I UPGRADED THE FIRMWARE FROM 1.0 TO 1.10 VERY EASY USING USB AND WINDOWS 10 I ADAPTED GPS TO IT BLUETOOTH AND TRIPS OF NANO LED LIGHTS ALSO RECEIVES COMMANDS FROM ALEXA I CONNECT MY SONY CAM TO MY WINDOWS 10 TABLET LIKE HE DOES ON ANDROID ON THIS VIDEO AND I GET MORE FUNCTIONS THAN ANDROID I USE THE CAMERA AS SURVEILLANCE CAMERA ALL MY CAMERAS ARE SONY!

ed fuentes Sony are no longer using that app. The app you now need to use is called: imaging edge mobile I had the same issue as you but went onto the Sony website and saw that they no longer support playmemories

Whenever I change a setting I can not click ok on cam corder screen, ok area stops responding to click one a setting is changed,. That is why I am stick at default settings.... 😭😭

+Luis Sellas There's ways to use any camera for streaming as long as you can plug in a usb cable from it to your computer. Sometimes it requires special software depending on the streaming service that you're using. But I don't have any videos on that, sorry :(

my setup will consist of live streaming in to conference rooms. the first room will have a laptop and a camera hooked up via usb. that way i can stream to one channel. but i want to communicate to the other camera on the other room via wifi and with software y want to stream that content of that camera.

Cant get mine to accept the password. Reset it even. The scanner won't bring it in focus to do it that way.

+steve lush Hi Steve, The ax33 HAS night vision and can work in complete darkness but I would definitely recommend buying the Sony HVL-LEIR1 hot shoe mount ir and light for this camera, It is expensive yes but... It will open a whole new world to shooting video in darkness. I have just bought this camera with additional ir and light and the results are mind blowing. I will be posting a video after the weekend on RUclips filming a ghost hunt at kelburn estate in Scotland using this camera and the ir light so check my channel within the next week or so to see the results.
