Funny thing I thought the hole next to the tripod hole was something I had caused after trying to screw a tripod attachment a couple of years back 😆 I now see that the hole was already there .. Anyhow really good camcorder
next review, be sure to address the AUDIO portion of the camera.......some of us are interested in knowing about sound quality, external/internal mics, etc.........thanks
Hi. I just saw your review and wonder, would you still recommend it almost to years after or is there another camera you would go for in the same price range? If I buy this one or something similar I would mostly film in HD (sports), so does it do great HD quality as well? Thanks for your answer and your review. :)
At 04:41 you say that when recording at the highest setting it records at 100 MB (Megabytes) per second which isn't the case. It records at 100 Mb (Megabit) per second which is about 12.5 MB (Megabytes) per second. So you hardly need that beefy of a memory card. :) From Sony's spec site for the camera: ”XAVC S 4K (100 Mbps): SDXC Memory Card (UHS-I U3 or Higher)” www.sony.com/electronics/handycam-camcorders/fdr-ax33/specifications
Do you have any experience or instructions on how to use this camera for live streams on RUclips? I have a friend who has this camera and wants to make live streams with it.
Hello, thank you for the video, I just picked up a new one as I returned my GoPro 7 black tones of problems using it. Do you still use this video camera? Can you tell me if it will still operate if it is plugged into a portable power supplie, if so I guess I will need to find a cord to use a portable supply. I forgot, did you have a link to additional batteries? Thank you.
If I get this, will I need a 150 megabitz or higher SD Card for just filming in 1080p? Also if I shoot 4K, and I burn the footage onto a DVD Will it turn out in nice quality or will it degrade the quality? Also with the gimbal, will it look even better on a tripod vs hand held? Are you able to download pictures/videos when you are on the camera WiFi or is it just controlling the camera?
Does it output 4K via HDMI while recording? Does it have a Histogram and does it output it via HDMI Does it have audio monitoring on the display and does it output in via HDMI.. Sorry for the all the questions, but.... :-)
Hi, I've got the Sony Fdr-Ax33 camera. I've got a problem. When I shoot 20 minutes or longer videos, when I transfer my videos to the computer, my videos are divided into two. Example: 20 minutes video is displayed in two separate files as 10 minutes on the computer. How can I solve this problem. I want my long videos in a single file. I don't want every 10 minutes to be a separate file. I want my long videos in one file. I would be very grateful if anyone helps?
Hi! Are there any minimum spec requirements for a computer to be able to render the 4k images for editing? What factors matter? Sorry, not sure how to word the question. You mentioned it and I had never considered my computer's specs. Thanks!
If I don’t plan on shooting in 4k can you recommend a camera similar to this?? I just want to film some electrical videos for youtube. I’ve been using my gopro which isn’t ideal
Inconvenient without a tripod? So assuming i want to use it at techno parties or filming music videos, moving very often, this camera is not good for me?
I just got this camera and mine wont film in 4k. Eventhough it says 4k in the display. For example: I shot a 18 minute video and the file only had 400mb. Im using extreme pro sandisk 128gb 170MB/s. Any idea how I can fix that?
Hello! Enjoyed the video. Two questions: 1. What kind of software do you use to edit the 4k video? Also cost? 2. How can we record and take pictures at the same time?
Jack Hydrazine will be uploaded soon, showing raw footage of a variety of conditions. If you want to see some now, my last two videos on the Resin 3d printer has all been shot on the Sony ax 33.
I chose the AX33. The only feature the 53 has which could've won me over is the ability to timelapse, since I do a fair amount of that. But, the 53's timelapse capabilities are rudimentary and of no interest to me. The 53 also has a higher optical zoom, which I didn't find to be worth the extra money. And, I really like the built in USB in the hand grip for onboard charging and data transfer to PC, which the 53 lacks. Obviously, what's important to me may be of no concern to you, and vice versa. No question, when you're talking about a big dollar purchase like this, you can afford the time to check out the specs and features of each camera and weigh what's important to you.
@@Vector_Ze Bingo! Those are the exact features I was considering against the higher cost of the 53 and wondering if it was worth it. The timelapse sounds interesting and the convenience of the USB in the hand grip for charging and data transfer. Thank you for your comment on this!
@@KongGig But, with the AX33 I have a 4K camera and can very easily timelapse what I've recorded to any degree I choose on my desktop, while doing whatever touch up and editing at the same time. Osmo looks like a nice action cam, just one I don't need. I have an old GoPro Hero 2 I can use in situations where I don't want to risk my AX33. Everyone's needs are different. Meanwhile, it's been two years since I commented and I'm still enjoying this camcorder. It's the best I've owned to date. Heck, at my age it's probably the last one I buy, with any luck, LOL.

No mention of battery life is mentioned in specs or on Sony website. Any users out there confirm battery life on highest 4k video recording mode?
Dream Box 2 1/2 - 3 hours
Hello kerbal fan. it cant shoot 4k with 60fps.
Croat Outdoors it shoots at 24 or 30 only in 4K
It would be even better if it had a second SD card slot and built-in ND filters.
my camcorder connects to my wifi router what can i do when i connect to the router

A lot of those buttons look to small to use or find when you're not stopping to pull away and actually look at them.
i am using this camera,,but the problem is it vibrates when it moves faster ..can you advice me what is the problem in it?is it in the camera?

Excellent review. Does this camera shoot in 2.7k? My computer cannot handle 4k well
Yes, it does 1920/1080 as well
What's a good 1080 P camcorder?
Isn’t that the ax43?
Does it output 4K via HDMI while recording?
Does it have a Histogram and does it output it via HDMI
Does it have audio monitoring on the display and does it output in via HDMI..

Is it possible to record while charging?

Hi. I dont see 4k 60fps in the specs. Is that accurate?
4K 60fps wasn’t common back 9yrs ago. My GoPro7 Black was my first 4k 60fps option.

NERO 6 in 1 2018 or 2019. Too bad Sony dint provide editing software. Nero costs less than $50
Shoots at 100 mbits/s. That is 12.5 mb/s.
How about some footage you shot with it?

Yes

I was in the same mindset when I chose the A33 over the A53
But also because Ax33 was on sale for 400$ during black friday^^

I would use those 280$ to just buy an osmo pocket or an osmo action.
So you got an timelapse 4k camera.
