I just made this cheese! Oh my goodness, it tastes sssooooooo good! The texture is awesome as is, and I will also age whatever we dont eat asap. Lol. This is the best cheese replacement recipe. I think using the golden beats was best, as it really adds to the cheese flavor. Weird, i know, but this works! Thanks so much for this recipe. You are a role model!

Thank you! I have not had a chance to test that out, it disappears very quickly from my fridge! It should be okay for another 3 or 4 days though.

Also the coconut milk that you used is full fat or light ?
Sorry, I don’t check my notifications often, I hope your cheese came out okay!!! I am not sure how much yeast to use. I’d definitely go with full fat coconut milk. Not sure on the fresh equivalent of dried tamarind.

Do you have to use tamarind powder or can we use the paste or water? We usually make a tamarind water that is used in Indian chutneys.
You could use paste but would have to adjust water content of recipe.

I would have to make a mound of dirty dishes to create 1 brick of cheese. Can I mass craft and store in freezer?
If you want to freeze it use the gelatin directions at the end. The agar version won't freeze well.

LivingNaturally If you freeze the block it loses its shape and is only good for (yummy) melted cheese sauce :/ You might have better luck freezing the gelatin version (directions at end of video)
I wanna try a cheese experiment. I’m trying to make a dairy free cheese for my 9 yr old that has similar taste/texture to regular cheese and will melt, I wanna try to sub palm hearts for the beets and was wondering if you think that could work. Also do you think the agar agar or gelatin has better texture/ meltability? You’re an AIP genius girl!
Awww thank you!💗💗 Yes, I think hearts of palm could replace the beets! I think gelatin is a bit better, I only used agar because I don't tolerate gelatin but it performs better. I have a couple of cheese recipes that use plantain as a thickener too, it has a nice ooey gooey cheesy texture!!

Goddess how long would this last in the fridge?
It will be fine for 7-10 days and is actually better with age! I slice it thin and lay it out uncovered on a cutting board and store it like that :)

Can I use regular beets?
You definitely can and it will taste the same but your cheese will be bright pink😀
How does it actually taste though?
It tastes delicious! This recipe was taste test approved by my boyfriend who eats dairy, gluten, etc etc😉. If you don't have the Primal Palate Breakfast blend then I would suggest using nutritional yeast to give it flavor. Make sure to use one without synthetic additives like this one: amzn.to/2TreKbW
