This is a good point as phyrexian tower was just in a secret lair and will probably go down when they start getting sent out
Greater Good is a LOT better than it looks, once you've played with it a few times the $2 price tag seems way to good to be true
One of my favorite cards. Anyone who played back in Og Kamigawa block knows how good it can be.
Its similar to necropotence in that manner even though necros power is well understood by the EDH community now it used to highly slept on especially by new players. Even if you know its good, it doesn’t really hit you until you’ve had it out on the field!
Shimmer Dragon is an all-star in my Alela deck. Such an underrated card.

Overwhelming Stampede is nuts. I’m someone who thinks for the very high price, Craterhoof is a bit overhyped so cards like this an Triumph of the Hordes are my preferred budget wincons in green heavy creature decks.
I think Hoof is appropriately rated but he can be replaced
Hoof isn’t overhyped, It’s just not the only option, meaning you don’t have to spend the money on it if you don’t want to. If you already have one it’s definitely the best option for most decks in that slot, barring a few corner case scenarios (I do have one deck where I play pathbreaker over crater hoof because of mana cost reasons)

Hey Nerds, great video! Here's my list of cards I have my eye on (no particular order):
1. The Cauldron of Eternity
2. Winged Boots (same reason for Swift/Lightning)
3. Cemetery Illuminator
4. Witch of the Moors
100% vouch for shimmer dragon. Easily one of the best cards in my Lonis deck. Makes it dummy easy to find answers/wincons

Yesterday I found out about the hotdog/hamburger theory: the secret to success for any male duo is that one is tall and lanky (hot dog) and the other guy is short and stockier (hamburger). You guys are the perfect example.

Loyal Warhound and White Orchard have a 3rd, lesser known buddy in Verge Rangers. To me, this is the best white 'ramp' card I've used. The ability to play lands from the top is sooo underrated, especially in white. Playing it turn 2 or 3 is extra great because the 3/3 body with 1st strike deters a lot of pesky little early attacks, which definitely matter in the last turns of the game.
If you play it, you will understand. I accidentally left it in a precon and that's how I 'found' it, now it's a staple within my friend group. Keep up the good work 🤘

Cards like flawless maneuver are the reason why all of the board wipes I play no longer deal damage or say destroy. -x/-x and “sacrifice all” is the way to go for me. Speaking of, I’m gonna buy a foil “Tragic Arrogance” right after this.

They may still reprint the "free" Commander spells but not in precon decks. We might see them in Commander Legends 2 or some future masters or remastered set.
Ive been playing commander and the game overall since kaldheim, i somehow stumbled upon a couple of wildgrowth's in my early collecting days, they are so good! You guys are right, they literally have always just sat there, never died, done work through mid/late games!

Shimmer dragon is like my go-to fetch creature with high cmc in my lonis deck. Combined with academy manufactor i just cannot lose. The hexproof on it is soooooooo good

Any white deck that isn’t 5 colors starts with the Commander, Swords to Plowshares and 98 other cards.
Swords is soooo good
Gitaxian probe can also be used for combo decks to know if a certain player has interaction

Re Overwhelming stampede. It's also noteworthy that it happens on resolution which is situationally better. If you're ready to close out a game (and your opponents will always know), given you aren't guaranteed haste, PB Ibex needs to stick around for a turn. If the threat assesment decision for your opponents is "spot remove or die" that goat aint sticking around to close out the game for you.

woah greater good is 2 bucks?! maybe its time to break the bank card is bonkers. and goblin bombarment for 1 dollar is a steal too. I remember when shimmer dragon came out i got one for cheaper its funny if you think about it how edh on a budget is a rotating format.
A budget deck today could be super expensive tomorrow
This video was really good. It helped me with lot of what I should get for my decks. There’s so many cards and for my decks I always feel like I’m not getting the best cards
greater good is the best example of what a Green card-draw effect should be, that or Return of the Wildspeaker. you want big creatures and get a lot of cards, and you set up reanimator decks so well.
My Galea Voltron deck runs off of an Enchantress package, and I've switched to nearly all Enchant lands for ramping. It's feel so good!
If you don't care about how nice you like your demonic tutor looks like, you can get a VG or G condition version for cheaper than 33.

Just want to add that Last-Ditch Effort is a great addition to any deck wanting to use goblin bombardment. It's a one time use, but the name is so fitting, and for one mana why not?
I had the same experience with dragon shield. The gloss ones would fall and get the sweat. I’d scrape it off too.
Finally secured a copy of Toxic deluge for my collection w the upcoming commander collection set or whatever tf it is. Love these vids im always on the lookout for cards to add and you guys are as always a top tier resource. Cheers to yall!
As someone who plays stompy decks over token decks, overwhelming stampede has always been my go to finisher over craterhoof. I will say in my selvala deck I have ended almost the same amount of games with a finale of devastation/god-eternal rhonas just because I can easily pay 12 mana for the combo. That being said stampede is much cheaper than that combo and just as effective.
I use Greater Good in my Ghalta deck. Nothing like paying 2 green to draw 12 discards 3 repeatedly as long as I have enough power out that is. One game it took until Ghalta costing 24 more to cast before I had to pay more than 2 green for him. Of course my Concordant Crossroads was in the last 7 of my deck that game lol
Most important takeaway from this episode is that Joe has a Piru deck ♡ Must see in action!
I hope they reprint the ally pain lands. I put the enemy ones in every deck I can since they are so good for how cheap they are, sucks that the ally ones are nowhere near as cheap. Its crazy how cheap enemy fetches and some of the cards on this list are now, i remember goblin bombardment being $7, demonic tutor being $60, and phyrexian tower being $30.
Need to dig out my shimmer dragon, definitely has sat in a box for a couple years. Seems like crazy value
flawless manuver is a perfeck fit for Gishath decks, because you will eat a board wipe after you played you commander.
I bought a set of all fetches and shocks a while back and it ended up being at the height of their cost… spent ~$700 on what’s basically $200 today
Greater Good really is insane. My RG Omanth deck is bonkers with that card.

Not gonna lie, I put Shimmer Dragon in my Kykar Egg "Hatchery" deck and lemme tell you what, you know what's better than drawing 12 by tapping 24 thopters? Untapping them with Jeskai Acendency and doing it again. Then winning.
turn 4: tap out to play Talrand, play gitaxian probe right after.

Idol of Oblivion is insane! Made 40 copies of the eldrazi token with my Brudiclad deck to finish a game recently.
Got goblin bombardment today and used it today and won with it today 😂 used it in my omnath deck that makes infinite zombies
I run Shimmer Dragon in Ardenn and Esior. Few things feel better than tapping equipment to draw cards.
I love shimmer dragon in my galazeth artifact deck. Having another piece that can tap my winter orb AND draw me a card is insane

Instead if buying single fetchlands I would suggest buying the 3 booster packs from Amazon for like 22. I've had alot of luck on those and have pulled a fetch 4 of the 6 times I've purchased those. Not to mention other great pulls. Mh2 is criminally low and will age about as well as Double Masters.
Ditto that Wildgrowth is a friggin unbelievable spells. It's always the lowest priority for removal, and is basically free ramp if used turn 2.
Why play a [T1 Llanowar Elf -> T2 Priest of TItania ] when you can play [T1 LLanowar Elf -> T2 Wildgrowth & Priest of Titania]?
Greater good for 20 doesn't happen a lot. Still a good card and awesome with big STR commanders (Arixmethes, Grothama, Galtha, Dragons, yaddi yadda) and even more awesome in golgari yard decks for sure
Judge promo survival of the fittest. Yes, the card art is THAT beautiful. The fact that it's green's best enchantment is secondary.
Edit: the fact that the card has literally doubled in price from last time I saw it and is trending towards $2k does not change my opinion whatsoever. Lol

Utopia Sprawl says Enchant FOREST. It can be a dud early. Fertile Ground is generally better.

I swear by wild Growth in my token shenanigans deck, I have a friend who doesn't like it a whole lot, but I can't explain how great it feels to drop wild growth and then drop my 2 drop, it goes mana neutral beyond turn 1, it's fantastic. I'll probably get utopia sprawl since it is strictly better though

Idol of oblivion is a must in Orvar decks
Someone literally turn 6 Armageddons with a boros charm to then not win, but most importantly did not at all mention they had mass LD and i clearly said i wanted to play my new budget deck with brinelin and gilanra as the commanders……this is why we need pre game discussion but clearly also banlists.

Our playgroup allows unlimited proxies and it's changed things for the better. Sorry to topics like these, but it's just not sustainable anymore to always be beholden to the secondary market. Game pieces for a casual format shouldn't cost this much.
Yeah, but some people like collecting and having value in their cards. Neither are the right way to do it
@@elipetrou9308 oh I absolutely agree, I've always loved that and especially collect Nemesis and Mercadian Masques cards. But simply having the game pieces needed to play the deck you want should not ever be cost prohibitive. And EDH has become that for far too many people.

Good list. I think the only card I would disagree with is Swiftfoot Boots. It seems to me like it'll be one of those cards that's always going to be in precons, so it'll never be that much. Similar with Lightning Greaves. If you do want something special pickup a foil Lightning Greaves from Double Masters, it's the only foil printing.
This might be true but it isn’t about making money with this video overall but rather what cards are worth the prices right now

Good list of cards. I already bought a few months ago a few copies of goblin bombardment and Karmic Guide as well, super cheap now compared to maybe a year or two ago.
Those cards a both so good in commander!
Personally, I would hold off on Phyrexian Tower. It just got reprinted in a recent Secret Lair and once those ship in a couple months, it'll drop the price some.
Secret lairs don’t really drop prices, wizards has them priced in such a way that you’re paying roughly what it would cost you to buy those singles anyways, And the print run is very very limited only people who order them and get them. Look at bloom tender lol
