Noticed this, I played the PC version tonight did the cheese and noticed after you kill him once, they nerfed the souls after his first death which is fine. because scolding are worth it as well as clearing him out and taking on the umbral after.
I just needed the trophy for killing him (gotta get the actual last hit) and this worked just fine, got him to fall twice then dps the last 20% he had. Tyvm, indeed worked for me oct 25
why not put the vigor increase on both blades then equip moth ring i think the modifier goes to like x3.90 so there's that and i'm guessing even higher if you can get a weapon with 2 triangle slots for more vigor increase

Equip paladin Isaac sword. Plunge attack on this sword is crazy. I have attack power 568. But on plunge attack it make over 5000. Plunge attack the reaper 3 times and he is done. There are good plunge places all over the game 😊
Can anyone tell me why my red reaper gauge only gets to 2 dots instead of three. I'm on ngplus1 and i just beat the hushed saint again but not matter how many times I wait for him, it stays at level 2 and I don't get the better enemies who drop things, do I need to progress further? My first playthrough i don't remember who long it took ,but it went to three dots the majority of the game. Thanks for any info!!
Just did this on PC, and on Console with Co-Op. It does work the patch they did for red reaper was make it a bit smarter. you cant just afk you have to play around on ladder a bit but he will jump off sooner or later

😆 Please! Not only is the Dark Crusader bad ass looking, it's one of the most powerful armor sets in the game 😂 That and the Paladin Longsword 😅 Because the Dark Crusader is a S class role, meaning it's literally the one of the best classes out 4 😝
The Armor set is Harrower Armour, Lightreaper Helm,Harrower Leggings. I got a video on channel called Berserk Armor Set that you can look at. Its a optional boss fight to get the armor
You have to last hit him, like i would suggest that you get him to fall off the ledge take dmg maybe once or twice depending on how much health he has and then lead him around to the umbral bridge and with him stuck there throwables can dmg him to get last hit in, or if your weapon/magic strong enough blasts him and then you get the eye

This is not efficient at all for the amount of vigor he gives. The strat Pwar posted is still very good. I got about 54k in about 30 minutes or so and it’s in the same area but you just get him to spawn up top then use the elevator behind to go down and farm the area just above where the blacksmith was imprisoned at.
Its not anymore but for peole that want the eye or mainly kill red Rapeaer once and go farm umbral demons then back to red reaper. it can work. I see this mostly for Newer players just starting to get quick fast like 8-10 levels pretty fast before continuing on.

Yea, it’s the umbral eye pickup you get after killing the reaper for the first time. Makes your head glow red and lower end “trash” enemies in umbral fear you

Have you done it more than once? To nerf afk farming they made it so he drops less exp with every kill. You'd have to rest at a vestige every time for the full amount. Honestly not that worth it for exp. Just scouring farm now.
Why would they nerf the souls. If you where to straight up fight the reaper. It has 9k+ health! Even on my strongest PvP build that's an insane amount of health to clear without healing. They should have just instead made it so the reaper can fly, and stab people off the ladders, and if they died that way , make them lose a level. Prevent cheese, and punish no skill.

As a souls vet, I agree. You shouldn't be cheesing exp, especially in the beginning. You need to learn how the game needs to be played. These games aren't supposed to be easy. You need to learn the patterns of the enemies to survive. If you want easy mode, just go UGS and join as a phantom to other players and help them. You don't lose souls in their world and you can also find lots of items and mob drops. Thankfully, the devs are listening and made parrying more usable in the new patch Thurs.
There's another place in the game where you can just get the reaper stuck permanently and literally farm forever without worrying about him ever at all. It is still a secret though. I've not seen it online anywhere yet and we don't want it fixed.

Update: they patched this. Now, when you're on the ladder, the reaper just spawns its swords through and knocks you off.
They said they nerf the awareness of those old ladies that snipe you with radiant magic but it doesn’t feel like it

It works for me, and it is a lot faster in first game cycle. He drops once and he dies

Or you can buy the wood boss weapon for 10 umbral, then sell it for 2000 souls, if you had 60, buy/sell 6 weapons 12000 souls.

You can still heal using briostones during the crimson spectre fight.
