I'd love to see more on what happens to this old iron after the recoveries
Yup that’s a great idea

Right!?!!
Yes I’m so curious
Sold for scrap
I am a somewhat retired professional engineer who did construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering since 1972. I know, before you were born. I love watching the recovery videos of machines stuck and buried to the roofs! Your ingenuity in getting them out is amazing. Stay safe. Theresa Bailey
Retired from a magor drilling company after a long career of moving heavy loads. I would love to see what you men could do with a hundred ton crane. Thanks for the entertainment.
Sound hot
Just a good feeling seeing them all smiling and hugging at the end! You guys have a good group of friends and don't take that for granted because we don't stay forever!!! Keep up the amazing work!
i love the fact this team are a little bit unorganised ~ sometimes
winging it, learning as they go, evolving
it is both charming and calming
youtube is wonderful for anthropologists 🥰
I love and enjoy watching all your recovery videos. My 11 year old son also gets a laugh out of the times your team"clowns around". Keep up the great jobs and more importantly, keep remaining safe while doing so

Andrew I feel the same always watch them with my daughter and she loves them lol
I gotta say I love seeing these old machines being recovered and being given a chance to come back to life
But I do gotta say PLEASE be careful when using chains as they can snap and really hurt someone
There was a farmer who lived about 20 minutes from where I am who was pulling a tree out of his field with a tractor and a chain. About 1/2 way though the job the chain broke and whiplashed straight through his cab and decapitated him instantly
His family didn’t find him till the late afternoon when they came to the field and saw the tractor running at idle with both the back and front windscreens destroyed
please be very careful when using high tension especially with chains as i would hate to see anyone especially you get hurt or let alone killed
Keep up the great content
Stay safe
That's why I hate using chains to pull stuff heard to many stories of them flying back and cutting people in two in the blink of an eye, watching them stand so close makes me nervous but I know they aren't dumb and should know the risk better than anyone
I actually have a story to tell here not about chains snapping and killing but sometimes else, my grandpa worked at a sand pit, they dredge and refine the sand there, now to get the sand leaving the plant they would use trains and one day there was an accident with one, a guy got impaled by the cupling mount while hooking the shunter engine up to some cars the dude had it go right through him but somehow he was alive, ambulance was called and they said this "if we remove you from this you will die" so he calls his wife who comes to the plant to say goodbye and the they disconnect the train and the car and he was dead instantly.
@@awolgamming7793 ya that is a gruesome story
@@awolgamming7793 I'm surprised they didn't cut the coupling mount off the train, then bring him to the hospital where surgeons could cauterize and close the injuries before removing it. I mean chances are he still would have died, as it almost certainly would have become infected after being struck by dirty metal and having it stuck in him for a long time. But people have survived through similar injuries, so long as they can get them to the hospital where surgeons can properly close the cut veins and arteries.
Then again, this was back in your grandpa's day, so techniques would be even worse off compared to today. They also might not have been able to get something to the area quick enough to cut him out.
You sound like an Iowa guy, same here born in IC.👍 back quite a few years ago I worked, (in denver) with a guy who had walked off the deck into the elevator pit of the building. I don't remember all of the details but he ended up falling on to a vertical piece of rebar that was embedded in a slab. They had to lift him up and cut off the rebar to take him to the hospital for surgery. He obviously made it as we worked with him but damn what a thing to go thru.... By the way, I was taught to throw a towel or moving blanket over a chain or cable so if it snaps the line drops to the ground.
Another great recovery Vlog Heavy D!!! Thank you!! Love watching these and look forward to every one that you post.
Back in the 60s, my dad used to haul heavy equipment like this using a double gooseneck trailer. I was just a child at the time but I remember everything as being massive. He would deliver to the big hydroelectric and highway projects that were going on at the time.
Making my day again with another recovery! Thanks bro.

I absolutely love what you guys are doing. I'd personally love to work with you guys.....Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to seeing the next video and more updates on the Susan Powell case.
love your show, love the recovery that you do., I admire you guys
Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends. I love to watch your recovery videos. I used to work at heavy and big trucks store, so I kinda have a heart for heavy and big trucks. Truckers are some great people with a dangerous job may God bless them all. Just want to tell you, your doing a great job. God bless you all this Christmas season. Keep up the good work. You all have a good heart its great to see.
All these recovery videos make me want to get into this business. Great video keep up the good work 👍
Heck yeah I grew up in Orderville still visit my parents over there all the time. I remember seeing that scraper there from the other side of the river. Glad you guys can do something with it.

Dave: I was in the heavy duty towing business for several years and actually had the pleasure to operate the first Holmes 1801 west of the Mississippi. It was a beast. As division manager I was tasked with numerous recoveries. I wanted to pass along one technique which I used several times . I specialized in cement mixer recovery, as you know a loaded STUCK mixer can be quite difficult to recover. Here it is: if access is from either end, try to run your main winch line under the stuck vehicle if possible to the front of the vehicle , secure it around the frame if possible in front of steer axel. When you apply winching not only do you apply a pulling force, but a lifting one as well. That’s it…. it worked for me, but might not be applicable to all situations….. Great Job, I love watching your content…Thanks
That was awesome to see I'd love to show you a video of an old military dump truck I had to recover up on a ski resort that went off an embankment about 200 yards straight down 2 heavy wreckers and 12 hours later we got it back up on the road keep up the great videos much love my brotha's
When Dave says”I may have bitten more than I can chew” I click crazy fast…. Love your recoveries.
@K Den You can’t hit a home run on everyone! But thanks I appreciate what you all said

I love the videos of these types of recoveries! Curious about the weight on the trailer particularly, with a tandem limit of 38,000 in Utah. Scraper was loaded with the front axle over the trailer tandems, and it has to be close to that on the front axle of the scraper if not over. That thing looks HEAVY!!!
Need a 50t detach
631b weighs 35,000kgs / 35 Metric Tonnes - not as heavy as I imagined
@@garethifan1034
That is 77,162 lbs, much of which would be in the drive unit so possibly over the 38,000 limit!
Nothing better than seeing a oversize load on a sweet rig!!! Loving the recovery videos! Thanks for the awesome content!

That's one big machine. Glad that it just didn't rust away into the ground. Nice recovery. Stay safe and have a day to were whole crew.
There’s tons of these old belly scrapers around, the place next door has about 20 of the old cable controlled units they used to pull with tracklayers. Maybe I should ask the neighbor if he wants em gone, that would make for a good video series xD
I would love to see a remodel series on this scraper

so beautiful the drone footage - just amazing how tucked in it was - the load and to get it right - brilliant - love it 😁😁
I can hardly believe it, Heavy D went through this whole video WITHOUT saying "literally" at all!! You can do it Heavy!
@heavyDsparks Thanks for making these videos! I live in Salt Lake City and I totaled my SUV yesterday in that bad snow storm and I just lost my job too! im feeling really down at the moment cuz I don’t know what to do about my car to find a new job, but your videos have made me feel a lot better! Thanks Craig!

@@CORNDODGER lol yeah not worth the trouble!
Sorry about your many troubles.
Believe just enough to ask God and then ask for a miracle. Then tell Him what you want and put the answer into God’s hands! You not only will get a miracle, but will feel the joy of a whole corporation up there to help you.
I for one think God is allowing bad things to happen right now because he wants His children to call on HIM and not the “beast” system, or to try to fix things alone.
Hope this doesn’t frustrate you more! I agree all your troubles are resolved! ❤️🙏🏼👏🏻
There's just one thing to do. Keep on keeping on. Get out there.
I know thats all i can do is pray and hope things get better. Its just hard to stay positive since i’m one of those types of people who seem to have to learn everything the hardway. I’m a single father raising an 11 year old son and i have to make sure hes happy before me.
Man I love to go on a recovery with you guys. Just to see and learn the equipment would be epic!
Wow heavy d that is one hell of a recovery now I don't know if your truck looks bigger than a machine but from my end that machine looks way too big for your truck but you guys did it man you got a hell of a crew and this is why I watch your vlogs your videos whatever you want to call them you're the man dude would love to see you rebuild that thing but I know that if it takes too much money and I know you have a lot of it you will rebuild it hate to see that thing go to the scrap yard glad nobody got hurt, 💯💯💯👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 GBA
I really enjoy watching your videos, my Grandpa was in a 4wd club in So Cal they all had Broncos 1/2 had 351 motors swapped in, windors and clevelands 4 speeds and C4 before they did it factory in 1974, most of the spots in the Mojacve we went are closed off now. he did things I would be scared to do myself, he was a bit crazy, we towed a 24 ft trailer loaded with everything to the bone with a 1969 Bronco with 4 drum braks on the Cajon pass!
This isn’t a vlog….it’s a move by way of mini series. Love them all ❤️

@@willieseymore4512 What's funny is i was being sarcastic because its so hard what they do ... Take a chill bro
I never actually saw how it was done, but we had a transport driver in Reno, NV that hauled in 2 different Cat scrapers that were D.O.A. Both were dead stick and he loaded these by himself using only the recovery winches on the trailer and tractor. Didn't take all that long either. Wish I had seen how that was done. My part was replacing the engines in both. They did have air in the tires though, thats gotta help!
I must say, you definitely do some very interesting recoveries. The pro bono work is awesome to see. Great job
I really liked the video, The only thing that would’ve made it any better was if I had my power boxes while I watched it, but I don’t because they never came! Lol

loved the recovery marry Christmas
Loaded a few of these on low boys that were running. Good job.
That’s unbelievably great team work!!!
That’s one big machine y’all did amazing getting that loaded and safely keep on keepin on
I wonder if you could have used one of the diggers as an external hydraulic power pack and plumbed the lines for the scrapers lift cylinders straight into it that to lift it. Couple of blocks around the shaft (if it's an extending cylinder) or some chains to block it retracted and you've got a much easier to handle machine. That Case digger already has an aux circuit to the boom arm it seems.
Edit to add a thought I had immediately after: If the cylinders on the scraper still hold oil well enough you could probably even get away with just having some manual valves in the lines you hook up to them and just close all valves to block the cylinders (though that's gambling on all the old and tired seals holding)
I just wanted to say I really like your enthusiasm I like your teams enthusiasm you're always positive and I'm very mechanically inclined myself watching your will it start videos I appreciate the content man keep up the good work!
I am impressed at the smooth work those operators did that.
I could watch those drone shots from the end for hours hahahaha. Beautiful!
My Dad once bought a scraper that looked very similar. Caterpillar had to print a manual from their archives. It cost $90 in the 90s. It was cable driven, and the cables were an inch thick plus. I was told at the time that it was only legal in three states, because of the cables. (Literally, the grandfather of "Oh, snap!). Eventually, they converted it to hydraulics.
In the early Aughts, he had it scrapped.
Great editing. The sandals, ranger and dew and mad boy reports all got a solid laugh.
Wife and I have watched you guys all this new years weekend. Thanks for your entertainment. Happy new year 2023
HEAVYDSPARKS Crew it looks like another recovery though to be difficult but turned out to be a little easier than expected and as always a job well done !!!!! Heavydsparks Crew and families have a very blessed day !!!!!
When all three loader operators were working in sync...beautiful! ...great crew all of you are!
Big ole scraper. Impressive machines. Good friend of mine used to drive those across Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. He’s got crazy stories about what these machines can do. If it runs again, could be a fun project to build something on: like a joyride machine for tourists or to pull against the monster truck
Excellent content. Keep updating
