Alan is gonna love cerro gordo!!!
Call it the HOOK-EM
That thing is a Beast and that is what I would name it. The Beast
My vote for a name for the new truck is "big yank."
Let's call the truck Fat Boy
The last PLS I had we called her Happy Hooker. Which the Commander wasn’t really happy with our call sign, but everyone kept using the name. I had one of those FRS (Forward Repair System) tool box that was loaded on the back. You should get one of those. That thing had every tool you need. From welders to plasma cutters and large compressor. But I was used to hook up to all loads from pallet to connex containers hence the name “hooker”. I was whored out to every mission. One thing to remember in the dead of winter that thing likes to throw belts off the Generator (alternator). Easy access though. It’s right behind the panel in the middle of the back of cab. And also get yourself an extra charge pipe after the turbo. When it’s cold it likes to blow a rip in them and you won’t get any boost. During a mission I ended up using two rolls of duct tape and 150 zip ties to get out of there to only hold 17psi of boost before it blew. She gets up to about 32psi. You should get yourself a few of those pallets (we call CROPs) and pre load your gear on them and have them ready just to pickup and go for any mission pick your CROP. They also have a trailer you can load using the hook arm with another container or CROP. To load containers you will have to have a CHU or ECHU (enhanced container handling unit) added to your PLS. That Tac4 suspension is a beast.
It looks like an LSVR or is that the 8x8
best response!
came here to say some of this, didn't ever have a problem with the charge pipes myself, but we used ours in warmish weather and only when needed
Gotta love it! I operated one myself! Lets go engineers! Hooah
What about hungry hooker? 😆 🤣
Much respect to Alan for following you all the way down. His legs must’ve been killing him, I pray his compound bounces back soon ❤️
I love Alan, he's the fun uncle that makes family functions exciting. Hanns is the uptight cousin whose no one wants to play with
In honor of all the vets on here that commented that it was called a draggin wagon, I think the Dragon would be a great name. Thank you to all of the vets for their service. And thank you and your entire crew for your service to others as well.
Literally was gonna comment I think it should be called dragon , then I saw this 😂
I have to agree, even if it stays as Draggin Wagon, I'd love it.
I agree, the Draggin Wagon would be a good name for it
Thought the same thing.
💯 paint scales on that thing & tell people its a dragin' machine!
I'm really enjoying Alan in the vlogs. The dude seems like a genuine guy, not many people like that left.
I wanna know why they pick on him so much lol
@@tyniehometravels1861 I think Hans is just a jerk PERIOD! Seems like an immature, spoiled kid.
@@tyniehometravels1861 they’re probably all really good friends by now. If so that probably why. I know me and my friends pick on each other all the time lmao😂
Woody Harrelson doppelgänger. Shows all those boys how to work
I like ALL the guys Dave surrounds himself with, the guy has obviously learned the hard way and found genuine friends and colleagues and it shows!!
I was surprised.. The boss who arrives in helicopter and jumps straight into work.. Respect.. 🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳
Got to give your drone pilot props. Always doing a great job. Makes the vehicles looks pretty sweet!
drone, or chopper???
Except for the CPL filter, makes the sky look horrible at times. Known when and how to use them, sometimes no filter is better.
I got to say Alan is one of my favorite people that has joined the team He is an absolute joy and is so hilarious to see him interact with everybody!
I agree, Alan seems like a genuine good guy.
Definitely a character I love it
Doubt he will last that long doing some of the stuff he does
Yea only thing is everytime I see him I think of Woody Harrelson
Same
I love how Alan is worried about sun burn and his hat protecting him but happy to do all those dangerous jobs at his mountain hahah lots of love Alan a great asset to the team! A wise man which we all have the pleasure of following his story
Haha ya Alan is awesome. When he pointed out those assumptions i laughed my ass off. Brilliant come back Alan!
Aside from all the cool (sometimes very dangerous) craziness that goes on in these videos, it's amazing to me how some of these channels have such good video/audio editing. Crazy how well these 30 minute segments are put together. Kudos to whomever on your team does the actual editing!
You need to look up the Oshkosh MMRS heavy recovery vehicle. The M984 is my favorite vehicle I drove while on active, but the M1075 was the first. Glad to see a civilian making use of such a great and adaptable piece of equipment
I keep waiting for them to show up with an M88A2.
@@phil4483, The M88A1 is pretty awesome already. What do you think they would improve on it?
@@paultk4063 As the M1 tank series has gotten heavier, the M88 had to get better and bigger. Stronger engine, longer boom. They are actually working on the M88A3, which is even more powerful, and adds a seventh road wheel. Awesome vehicles. I was once at the BAE plant in PA where they were rebuilding them to the A2 standard. Awesome machine!
Alan is definately one of the hardest workers out there 👍🏻
Mad Max Dave😂
Poor Alan, just trying to share his wealth of knowledge about how the dozer got stuck. Keep up the good work Alan!
I think alan is getting a hard time
@@eoinlucas5058 new blokes who are older with a wealth of experience is often derided by the young fellas. He will, settle in with time its magic
I started watching when you guys recovered the house boat on Lake Mead. Now my boyfriend is watching with me.
I'm in awe of how much you know about dozers and other machines. Lol. I work in a hospital lab and I'm happy just getting our chemistry analyzers going when it's my turn.
Keep up the great work. Again, in of the knowledge to get things done and running. Lol.
Ok we say run and done.
I have a great respect for Alan he doesn't give up and work's really hard I think you should call the truck atlas be cause of the power great rescue
Alan is always smiling or in a great mode. always liked being around those positive types. he's great for morale.
Alan is underrated 100%. Love seeing him in the vlogs, dude is hella genuine and a rare breed. Keep up the good work Alan!
Glad you're around to keep things clean not just for your state but mother earth in general 😊
Poor Allen 😂 Hans was just ripping into him the whole time
Leave ole Alan alone, he's awesome! Also who else is devoted enough to try to get you some good footage all the way down the mountain like that? Put some respect on this mans name!
It's wild how many comments I've had to report for dumb spam telling me I've won something!
@@Huey_G It's amazing just how many there are in the first 48 hours. Viewing the comments even 4 days after the video gets posted is so much less obscene. Just unfortunately not quite as interactive with the community though.
Yeah, some of the young guys are obviously quite jealous of him and feel threatened by his work ethic and the respect & admiration that Heavy D has for him, which is why they try to put him down and make out that he's a bumbling dinosaur or something. Not only does Allan have decades of knowledge regarding all things mechanical and machinery-related (which results in him being a great problem-solver), but he also possesses more fitness, strength and stamina than most of the young bucks there half his age too.
I didn't see any of the other guys charging down the mountainside on foot whilst filming at the same time; no, they were sitting in their airconditioned SUVs playing with their drones.
@@philip4193 Only the cheese is as it was.

Yes Rick hi really is very good friend, becouse in this days people like dave is very low.

That PLS made such easy work of that dozer, when your military design a vehicle for a job it is well capable and more. Really love the videos . All the best from Wales.
I drove one of those for years, when I was in the Army! That truck is a handful! I loved mine. It has tons of power and can pull anything!
That is one tough truck and I am surprised how stable it was on the hill. Gotta love those military trucks! I vote on getting the dozer running and gifting it to Alan so he can build a proper road up on his property! You guys make my day every time I watch one of the videos! Keep up the great work helping people!
This is the way
Now that you've gotten your feet wet maybe you could take every piece of abandoned equipment that's complete and intact and rebuild them all to show the next Generations the value of the work ethic machine what you have to Source out used parts where you have to make new parts when you have to and show it all on tapes for these new kids that could could become machinists and heavy equipment operating engineers and skilled and self-reliant for off grid if we have another shit hits the fan situation
From the property down back who had a 2000 foot long Beaver Dam and donated it to the land trust they couldn't get my property by intimidating me but they got it by eminent domain by Beaver by flooding my property and making it useless and then when I tried to take out the beaver dams protested even got the Army Corps of engineer threatening me with daily fines so I lost it for foreclosure 36,000 in back taxes they said my property was worth $173,000 but when somebody went to the town hall to see if they could buy it the people in town hall said you can't build on that it's all swampland even though I had a perk test from 1991 saying the perk test was 1 in in 10 minutes all I needed to do was deep well monitoring but the town of Washington and the town of New Milford were against me doing anything with it the left woke left gay and lesbian Community didn't want me to build on it so I lost it to foreclosure and I lost all my equipment on it because I couldn't get it moved in time the new gay owner got all my equipment draglines bulldozers payloaders crawler cable backhoe
Quite honestly Alan is a very nice addition to the team..
He is a wizard man
This should be called “ THE BEAST “
Great job guys!
Discovery needs to give y’all a tv show. This is some of the best RUclips I have watched in a while!!!!
When i was in, the USMC called that truck an LVSR or Drag'n and the operators were drag'n masters . Great trucks. Tons of power and very reliable. MAJOR upgrade from their predecessor the LVS.
I like Drag'n. That is a fitting name for this beast
That's a great name
I think that we have a name for it HeavyD! Drag-an!

Absolute legends saving that guy from Lake Mead. You'll always have that. One dude. You cared. You came. You got him out. Act of God.
Hey guys! My hubby and I love your channel. You have some awesome videos. I watched 'Nearly lost my best friend' and I just wanted to give you both a 'momma hug (I'm 63 lol) I love how you are always helping folks.
I would like you to do something for me. We've had some rough times and rode them out. Since 2017 I lost my job, then my home. I moved in with mt future husband, he was diagnosed with emphysema, he lost his job, and we lost the home we were renting. We had a 2 door Rav4 and our clothes. Then a teenage girl rearended us while she was texting. Then we just had our clothes.
But God has our backs. We got a van. Moved up to an RV but had to sell the van. Now we are in a fifth wheel. We have a 1993 Cherokee that runs well. As soon as I figure out how to change 2 broken door latches and replace the brake light switch and put the window back on track it will be golden.
We are blessed. There is one thing more and I would feel pretty satisfied. Could you please stop blasting the music on your videos!? Dang son, I'm wearing out the volume button. You may have possibly gone a bit overboard with it.
PLS are pretty awesome. We somehow acquired one in my tank company in Iraq in 2007. Hauled a bunch of concrete barriers, concertina wire and other bulky items. One great feature is that the turning radius is still decent, due to the front 4 and rear 2 tires (reverse) steering.
Alan brings the best/worst out of everyone on the team and I love it 🤣
Is it just me or, do I see the other members of the crew, making sport of Alan, the guy who is building a house/fortress on and into a hilltop. If I had a chance, I would love to spend a day with Alan and be amazed and pick his brain for inspiration.
Not just you, I saw it at least 3 times where he was poking fun at Alan.
Yeah I don't get it. Dave always seems respectful towards Alan. Other team members and whoever edits these videos seem to have an issue.
i saw this early in the video as well.alan is very hardworking,i like him.
I seen it too.

Diesel here in Ontario Canada was $2:21 per litre yesterday. Changed to gallons and US dollars that makes it @ $6:25 per gallon US. No wonder i dont travel far!! Great job guys!!
Hi Dave, diesel cost £1.98.8 per litre here in the UK today, £8.94 or $10.82 per gallon @ $1.21 to the British pound. It is getting absolutely ridiculous, every price increase is blamed on the current Russia/Ukraine conflict & thats not just fuel, everything is increasing in price including food. We love your videos here in the UK so please keep on keeping on good buddy, yes I used my very best American coloquelism especially for you guys! 😃🇬🇧
In f
Finland it's about $2.78 per liter or 2.658€ or £2.289🙃so we are in the top three of most expensive gas prices in the world
How does anyone afford to drive? Jeez!
@William Bryant - Hi ya, my SUV here in the UK is a 1.5 litre diesel & driven 'reasonably' I get 50 miles per gallon, a bit more if I'm on a motorway. Rumour has it diesel engines are to be phased out by 2040 & I believe these price hikes are designed to push the petrol/hybrid & all electric cars onto the public, they're just becoming the cheaper option. 🙄🇬🇧
That's what they say in US too total BS all lies.
Cant imagine Sparks telling his teachers what he's doing now and the look on their face or any teachers. When you were in high school, sitting in class listening to people tell you what you want to be? Was bad ass on that list? Helping people? Celebrating the human experience? Dream big, be big, help big. That's here.
That’s a very nice purchase. One of two used by civilians. Great 10 by 10. It really didn’t even know that CAT was behind it.
Good Job
One of the guys asked what kind of dozer is it so I replied out loud- “a stuck one” then someone else immediately said “a yellow one”. Gotta love a smart ass sense of humor 🤣
Alan is the real MVP! What an absolute legend running around while everybody else just watches.
Fuel is expensive.... Heavy D - "I'll take the chopper...." Love it
watching heavy d come boolin across the skyline in his big black chopper, what a sight to behold! :D tingles right there
Another great adventure, love that Alan has come along not sure why he is getting a hard time from some of the crew he has probably forgotten more than most people have ever experienced.
Nah... were just gonna drag the fuckin thing a hundred or so yards. That's a technical maneuver... Alan just wouldn't understand.
Dude Hans is always giving Alan a hard time! I commented the same thing on a previous video. Idk me and my buddies give each other hell sometimes too
Alan is a great addition to the team
Hey bro, you guys are living true American life.
I just have to stop here a minute and tell you that I became a new subscriber a couple weeks ago and must tell you that you guys have the BEST the HOTTEST, the MOST interesting and entertaining sight on RUclips HANDS DOWN! The editing on your stuff is genious and super talented as it gets! There is no channel that puts it together as well as you guys! I love the humor and the attitudes of ALL you guys, you are impossible to match and that's a fact! I sit for hours watching all the back videos just to catch up, and for an old 78 year old that's pretty good! I would give anything to meet you guys someday, but not likely, so for now I will continue to enjoy all of you. Also, really good to see you all are God loving people. Bless you and be safe!
Diesel Dave is the spitting image of my uncle Joe who passed away when I was a teenager. He was my father figure and he loved to joke around. Now I'm a huge fan of all your videos. I was raised in a mechanic shop, so I can't watch enough.

5.64 that was diesel, right? Absolutely amazing scenery, perfect back drop, where's all the trees? There's no trees out there WOW that angle! That was a good video
My favorite truck I’ve ever driven in the military while I served. If you ever want someone to come show you guys what it can do let me come play with it. So nice to see it in action again. Thanks for all you guys share keep it up !!!
Let him play with it guys. That would be awesome!
Lol the motor T bastards had it pretty good.
Alen is so funny. Dude is my favorite.
The articulated arm shot near the end was really impressive. I wish we had seen more of it in action.
Sweet name for it. THE RECKER!!! I worked with a guy who was in the Marines. And his job was to maintain and use those wrecker to recover trucks and tanks that get stuck or flip over. 👊💪
I can’t believe how quick it was just dragging that dozer!
Weight + torque + traction = PULL
@Nathan Johnson those are all lost at NTC.
Allan is just the best dude ever!, so inspirational.
He's definitely one of my favorites on his channel
That dozer sure looks a lot like the one we had in the Air Force “Roads & Grounds Division” 60 plus years ago. It had a rear winch with the cable traveling over our heads and to the blade. Does this one have a pony starting engine also? If this dozer was khaki, I’d swear you were salvaging our sweet “B’Dozer”. You may have just recovered a 70 + year old Air Force dozer machine! By the way; I am an 82 year old Veteran retired in Thailand. Love your vids.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW TOUGH THOSE ROPES ARE!
That “H10” is one bad pulling machine. Dave & Dave and crew are awesome. Hard working hard playing, example setting cool dudes. Thank you
this is the way lol
Keep Alan… get rid of the dudes bullying him. He carried this video.
Yeah that guy was annoying af
Hans is annoying lol always crying
That is an incredible piece you guys have got yourselves
Allen? Alan? Sorry for not knowing the correct spelling of his name. Anyways, his mind runs 100 miles per minute and is always coming up with ideas to solve any problem that comes along. How he never gets hurt is a testament to his experience and knowledge of the machinery he encounters or works on. HeavyD is blessed to have him for his ideas and willingness to work no matter how difficult. Way to go everyone!!!
I got a friend exactly like Alan, no words on how to exactly describe him. But people like that will take a bullet for someone they love.
Heavy D gets stuff done; I do believe he will be the future governor of Utah. He has a good team and I think Alan is the man, super smart and kinda quirky. Not sure why the younger guys give him grief, but he just smiles and shines it on. Pretty green scenery. Good one!
Every recovering needs. 2 large trucks. 5 side by sides, huge military truck. Helicopter, 10 men and a Patridge in a pear tree. Love it. 😅
WOW!! That PLS is a heck of a truck! and that is a super crazy steep hill!!
We always called them the "Dragon Wagon" in the Marines, because the closest thing to them was the old M25 from WWII.
Semper.
Rah
In the Corps back in the 90’s I was Motor-T. We called ANY and ALL variants of this a “Draggin’ Wagon” because it would drag anything anywhere! Sounds like a good name to me!!!
Man, that 10x10 is a Beast! Pulling a 15+ ton, locked up bulldozer down the mountain like it was nothing ... damn. I'd love to drive one of those once!
The new vehicle you guys have that is awesome that 10x10 that's off the hook how's your Blackhawk coming along keep us informed about that that's an awesome machine too God bless you guys and have a great weekend be safe and have fun take care of each other
I hauled ammo on a PLS in the Army and it is by far what I miss the most. That green monstrosity was my baby.....that sexy beast's big engine rumbling was music to my ears. This video was a little bittersweet. Not going to lie, I teared up a little bit watching this.
I know the feeling. The same with me and his neon green HET wrecker. I drove the HET & my unit logged in over 2.2 million mission miles in Iraq in 2003/2004. I miss my HET. I was shortly assigned to a PLS unit, but fought my way back to my HET unit. Don't get me wrong, I like the PLS, just like my HET even more.

That dozer was bigger than it looked! I love the thought of electric ATVs, I hope they work out.
Awesome video guys. And yes the fuel prices suck these days. In Holland we're paying $9 per gallon diesel. Fricking unbelievable...
Im here because of the Sin City video! Its nice to see you guys helping someone in need like you did! Thanks from a total stranger. It made me feel like good people are still out there!
Ok, no disrespect to the truck but the tractor is a real gem. Still run one, cable, pull start Pony motor. Got the transmission stuck on a steep incline a few years back on an old look out tower road. Pull the floor panel, tap gently on this and that and it might come loose. Mine has the side mounted fuel tank. Love your videos, be safe out there.
Right but you're not seeing or understanding what the OSHKOSH is and what it's abilities are compared to a lot of tracked equipment. That OSHKOSH can yank an M1A1 around, it's capable of recoveries of a lot equipment double it's weight. I've been around them most of my military career as an infantry and tanker and they are far more than what you think they are.
Hahaha they got a new road regardless. For a time I thought that dozer will smack your backside. Good job all-around. Love watching what you kids get up too. Ye I am 76.
Favorite Part is always the montage of all the recovery vehicles rolling out to the site.
I drive an LHS/PLS for the army so it’s really cool to see somebody using it in the civilian world. Thanks for the content y’all
Gotta Love "Big Daddy D's" Epic Entrance in his Turbine Chopper. Often imitated, NEVER duplicated! Just Pure Awesomeness!
Always couldn’t wait for Ur shows to come on, great to see Uall again thanks for the Recoveries!!
That Deca-Pull got the job done. Perhaps a slight tug up-hill would have freed the tracks? It was clearly in a downhill bind at the time of stalemate. Transmission was likely bound in gear, regardless of selector position. That Deca-Puller and an old M88 are in unsurpassable duo with a few decent brains behind the op. Really enjoying the vids. You guys ever down in Oklahoma, look me up. I'm an Army veteran, jack of all trades, (CDL, welding, carpentry, HVY mach, grill master, in-depth big-brain-problem solver, and a Class 7 FFL) I'd love to help out some time.
Sweet Ride. How about naming it Captain Hook? You guys rock!
I’ve watched your channel for quite a while. A bit of real world power. I own a 65000 lb Swaploader Hooklift. I have loaded many 30 yard containers with a net weight of over 100,000 lbs onto the truck. definitely not so good for the chassis, but I got the job done. If you anchor the front of the chassis you will dead lift a bazaar amount of weight. The unit you have is a very different geometry. The real trick is to take the tandems and slide them forward 60 inches and put a non-steerable drop axle in the back. The maneuverability is off the charts.
I've tried to think of something clever to say but honestly I can't think of anything except I'm impressed. Any wheeled truck that is capable of pulling a dozer with locked tracks is one hell of a machine. 😊😊😚
