As a native Minnesotan who has witnessed this type of machine put to serious use, I can't wait to see what is done with it if you guys keep it. Will be a good way to get to the cabin with 0 issues!
A used VOHL like that is going for like 45,000 Canadian wouldn't the owners research that before selling it for five grand. And in Canada they are very common. They make brand new blowers for bucket loaders and such
Happy Birthday Allan! The knowleagable wizard! I'm here for good guys, who know what they're doing, the equipment I've never seen before and the filming crew (love the views).
Happy birthday Alan, your actually my favorite person on here. So much knowledge, still fun, always willing to get in there. Just a guy you want around.
HeavyD, Diesel Dave, Alan, Hans, Skeeter...you have a large winter cabin "in the family" that you use, you have friends with winter cabins/houses and you could use your Vohl monster snowblower to HELP and SAVE people in bad winters...KEEP IT and USE IT and MAKE VIDEOS WITH IT, that one IS a cool, rare, amazing, life-saving piece of machinery, no doubt.
Happy 27th? 37th or whatever your Actual age is Birthday Allen You definitely are a great addition to the Sparks Motors/Sparks Aviation/ Sparks Heavy towing & Recovery
I’m sure Alan “The Wizard” could put many of those machines to use, not for snow but the little trucks could be a great little taxi ride to the top of the mountain.
I’m in northern Idaho and have a need for a great snow plow. I’d love to come down and see what you have on the lot and you’re willing to sell. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. On many occasions I went with my FIL to pick up cars & equipment back in the 80's. He ran his salvage yard during the day, preferring to do pickups at night. Like your video shows, nothing ever goes as planned. Of course, all his rigs were ancient, and breakdowns were commonplace. His wrecker was a 1-ton Ford, also used to pull tractors out of the fields, as well as semis. He never used the drive train to move anything, always relying on the winch to do the work. Keep the videos coming.
Happy birthday Alan. I am sure that every viewer sees what an amazing man you are and how valuable of a asset to their team. You're a true renaissance man. Hope you have plenty of happiness and great health!
This is the reward for hard work. Love the story of the beginning and the inspiration that it is out there! The amount of money it takes to be able to buy, and to crew up is incredible!
Guys! This is awesome!!!! I feel Alan’s pain with that hydraulic leak. In the future use an air hammer with a chisel in those tight areas to knock free the hardline fitting. Tighten it back up with the air hammer as well. P.S. happy birthday Alan!
That Vohl snowblower is the snow moving beast that definitely COULD and WOULD save a lot of people during a hard winter anywhere in the northwestern USA...HeavyD and his crew really SHOULD keep it and keep it in good working condition so they can HELP and SAVE people in the winter...those were some of the BEST videos ever on this channel when they helped all those people stranded in the mountains in California! Happy Birthday Alan! You all work really well together. Dave you stumbled on to a good man when you hired Alan to work for you. Alan has a lot of abilities that you benefit from. Good employee!
Blower looks like a Vohl DV904-400R Snow Blower, built on the ford 764 County Tractor frame. As for the New Holland TV150's, I like their predecescors, the Versatile 276. Slap a blower on the engine end and the loader on cab end and you got a work horse. Flip the seat and go.
Never thought I'd see HeavyD driving/owning a County tractor considering how rare they are in the US. My Dads friend owns a County 1454 based Vohl snow blower which looks similar but is a couple years newer and has a 6 Cylinder Ford motor to drive the tractor (not sure about the blower motor). Judging by the body work and 4 Cylinder engine I would say this Vohl is based of a County 764 which is just a Ford 5000 that's been converted to 4 wheel drive using County's twin drive system. Super cool machine and definitely a keeper.
They still make new blowers, not sure they still make that same machine but. A used VOHL like that is going for like 45,000 Canadian wouldn't the owners research that before selling it for five grand
@@TractorTraction Yeah. The 5000 /754 would have been pre 1975. This snow blower conversion is early 1980s era I would be thinking. So probably a 764 on the 6600 skid unit.

id definitely keep the Vohl for at least this winter; and team it with the Snowcat for emergency snow clearing for up to the cabin or like when you guys went to NorCal when they got that massive amount of snow at the beginning of this year!
