- rage against the machine - zed records - 3 camera mix - most complete show version 3/29/92
This is a 3 cam mix using the following sources:
Source 1 + 2: Cowprod
• Video
Source 3 has 3 different video generation mixed together.
Originally used a DivX AVI that is floating around.
Then found a non DivX source on youtube from user: selw0nk
/ edmmman
The other is most likely first or second generation, if someone has the full video, which apparently is out there for trade, please get in contact as I would like to make the best version available!
If you like the video, support the band! Видеоклипы
0:44 - Bombtrack
5:10 - Darkness of Greed
9:08 - Take The Power Back
14:57 - Bullet In Your Head
20:57 - Settle For Nothing (Zack reads from a sheet because he "just wrote the lyrics”)
25:25 - Killing in the Name (Zack's mic breaks and the crowd helps him sing it)
31:20 - Talking between RATM ("Are we still in D?") as record store employees try to fix audio issues
34:04 - Tom solos for 30 seconds during audio check
36:28 - Know Your Enemy (Zack's mic is still not working)
40:30 - More audio checks (Zack: Did anybody hear me?)
41:56 - Freedom
47:30 - Tom trips over the drums
At 47:30 is Zach eating the mic?
Thank you man!!
thank you sir YOU KNOW BETTER THAN ALL🤩appreciated
Da real MVP
TOM TRIPS OVER THE DRUMS LOL
Imagine sitting in history class next to a kid named Tom and he mentions his band is playing in a record store, and you show up because you feel bad
I think he was already 27 or 28 by this time, but yeah - that would be pretty funny
Imagine being the owner of this shop, allowing these "nobody" kids to jam a mini concert in his store. What a story to tell.
haha i mean the young one was zack he had like 21 here the other like 24 or 25
Nah, this was at Zed Records. They were pretty integral with so cal hardcore. Not a one off thing for them to have a connection to a band that gained a lot of recognition. Look em up!
A lot of So Cal bands played at Zeds in the 90s. You should listen to DasKlown live at Zeds. Awesome live album
Imagine if they did that concert today.. They would not be able to keep those records on the walls 😂
And now it is an H&R Block smh
Zack's mic breaking exactly at Killing in the Name so the crowd can sing it, is almost prophetic
And rememeber....this single wasn't released until 8 months later... it was such a local underground hit that half the crowd here already knew it word for word!
This, is what RUclips is all about, forget about those 10 second TikTok vids, Holy Hell what did this feel like to be in that record store before we knew anything about this band?!?! Goosebumps!
Lmao I just found this through TikTok
@@Balstadt Well, I stand corrected, thank you TikTok!
No matter how small the stage is their stage presence is overwhelming 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
This is one of the most 90s video in history
And this was the start of one of the best bands ever.
Killing In the Name wasn’t released as a single until Fall of 1992. But by March of 1992 these kids were already singing along to it and knew the words. This band was going places in such a short amount of time.
ahh, the days before unknown artists' songs going viral and then the kids learn the words.
this is probably be the best piece of music history ever recorded.
Lmao no. Dudes only put out a few albums then sputtered out.
@@trenken and those 4 albums didn’t have one miss on them lol
right up there with the beatles last performance on the rooftop
@@trenken 🤡
Its CRAZY to think 2 ½ months earlier than this they had just recorded a demo and started sending it to major record labels(eat the rich, eh?) Their song writing skills are unreal!!!
I was born in ‘02 so obviously I never got to witness this but being born to parents that were teenagers this resonates with me as this was their lifestyle of their young years just living ruthlessly, no phones, no worries and shitloads of 90’s golden era music. Fucking epic 🤘🏻
Хорошо РАТМ сейчас играют!
Im your parents generation, born in 76, young in 90’s-00s, its funny, I used to look at my parents pics and story’s from the 60s-70s, Woodstock etc. Now 90s have become the new 60-70s lol…time Fucking flies.
I was 14 when their first album dropped. I listened to them every fucking day. I saw them at Glastonbury in the late 90's and it was everything I could have hoped it would be. I've never seen so many fucking people in the same place go so nuts. It was glorious.
Yeah, we still knew how the sweat smell at that time.
@@Bokaj01 Shut ut, I'm still 17 in my head...
'76 too... And a huge fan of Kinks, Who, Pink Floyd... The Cure, Depeche Mode... Rage Against, Alice in Chain, Nirvana, Beastie Boys, NOFX...
It seems the golden age of "mainstream" music has stop for now.
There’s no way you coulda been at this show and not know they would be legendary one day. Confident in their message and not afraid to be vocal. Not to mention how fucking tight they are on their instruments
I'm always amazed how they can pretty much flawlessly perform these songs (especially this early into their career).
We all knew this the second that record dropped. What is amazing is seeing the Inside Out set on youtube from 90, and then seeing the PinkPop vid from 93, where you can't even SEE the end of the crowd.
i love these underground venues. Those early days are so fucking awesome.
Amazing... this is true raw power... wishing for new bands like this today...
Stray From The Path is about the closest thing to modern day RATM I can think of. They even recorded a cover of Vietnow that's pretty damn good
Nirvana did the same thing in a record store
I think these guys might make it one day
I doubt it. They have a terrible message and support terrorist groups like Sendero Luminoso (shining path) in Perú. Pathetic actually. Of course. It's easy to be a communist when you are middle upper class and live in the land of the opportunities. Posers. That's what they were/are.
🤘💖⚡🔥
So much love for ZED RECORDS (especially Big Frank and, Ron Martinez...and, fellow NEMESIS RECORDS Honcho Katon).
Really great folks who took care of my band (DIRT) when we did a West Coast Tour with our great friends in the Nemesis band CURIOUS GEORGE in 1990
You can really see why Zed Records was/is so important and, ingrained in the DNA of so many people in Southern California from the early 80s - forever
Cheers
Wow, man, what would u give to go back in time and be in the audience? What’s great is that when the go on to get signed, the songs don’t really change.
What a killer crowd though! Your vocal mic can die on you and the gig can just keep going because everybody sings along anyway. Damn.
Imagine being a band this small at the time and the audience is still singing the words. Destined for greatness.
amazing performance. ive never seen a bad video of them playing live
Holy shit, this should be played on every schools in the world.
Can't believe how good they sound at this age..Zacks vocals are incredible, he sounds perfect. Watching Morello sweet pick and rip thru some scales just hit the spot. They were a tight band, even at this stage..Great video
Bullet in your head 🤯 how did the windows not just completely blow out from the energy of Zac?!
In the right light, study becomes insight.. but the system that dissed us, teaches us to read and write.
(My favourite of their lyrics, though so many good bars)
The teacher stands in front of the class, but the lesson plan he can't recall. The student's eyes don't perceive the lies bouncing off every fucking wall. His composure is well kept. I guess he fears playing the fool. The complacent student sits and listens to that bullshit that he learned in school.
Take The Power Back is my favorite from their debut album along with Know Your Enemy. Insanely intelligent and powerful lyrics, Tim's best bassline by a long shot imo and one of Tom's best solos. What an amazing track 🔥
26:55 At that point everyone knew the machine was going to fly high
Rage was a band somewhat ahead of its time in 92’
Far ahead
Somewhat? 😂 thats an understatement bud
It was right on time!! Corruption and greed isn't anything new in the world.
They still are ahead of their time.
Nope, they were out of time. Never get old.
So wild to watch them play killing in the name of, and even though his mic cuts out, it became such a massive hit that everyone already knew the words, and your mind immediately just fills in the blanks. Genius,
Got some rare 7" and cd's from Zeds, never knew they played there. Great find.
27:26 Cuando Zack deja el micrófono de lado para cantar y saltar a la par con el publico es totalmente épico...
La verdad
incredible!!! awesome!!!
Love the original 'MOTHERFUCKER!' from the crowd at 31:00. That's probably where Zach got it from!
Guy in the crowd defo heard it before
@@sherman8r1998 they already had the album done dude
@@edybocman76 came out in november tho...
I've never seen such a light to heavy transformation in 68 seconds. Killer.
HEY FRANK! Thanks for letting us into your legendary basement.
Incredible footage.
Sweet! Very 90's
Thanks for this vid
Amazing. Youth is never wasted on the young.
Holly $h!t, I wish I had been there!!! Thanks, this is awesome.🤘
Great work stitching these videos together! Subscribed.
Best gig I never attended...
What a wonderful editing job
This is an historical document
Talented as hell! Reunion time?!
the greatness was there all along \m/
wow there's 48 minutes of this? Fantastic. Keep it alive.
I can't get over the intro to Bombtrack
Great video! Funny to see how big video cameras were back then lol
This audience is what modern musicians want not people on their phones.
Too bad popular music is garbage lyrical rap not actual music oriented
This looks like a nice wholesome time.
My favourite video on RUclips.
I think these guys will go far!
Thanks Frank
I still love them
sick!!
thas crazy 14 yrs b4 i was born an 8 months b4 the album drop wat a ride up to history
legendary cowprod footage :D
Really cool to see Toms guitars so barebones and to know how iconic they would become in the future.
Man....and I saw these guys a year later in a 3000 seat venue!
Incredible
7 years later headliner at Woodstock 🤘🤘🤘
We need more record shops like this
Quite possibly the realest shit on RUclips right now ✊
Now more than ever.
Bob Marley smiling at Zach spit'N that freedom sHt in the background !!
I can not imagine seeing them back then. wow.
34:04 man that souds good
Glad I didnt miss this show
The sound so freak great 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would have been beside myself. Incredible.
by far the best is that everybody jumps and no one is hanging his fucking smartphone!!!
Tom Morello counts up to bombtrack: 120bpm
Bombtrack starts: 80 bpm
Cool 💯😎 salute
Pure gold. Gold.
#RageAgainst
I wonder if there were any “Inside Out” (a hardcore punk band Zack fronted prior to RATM) fans at that performance?
Yep, me.
Se le sale el moustruo a Zack en Freedom jajajaaja chulada de interpretacion, gracias RATM, gracias Zack, cuanta energia en esas letras!!!!! y gracias por compartir este plano . . . .
tom with a cloudy cartoon guitar and the CCCP hat were incredibly cool
Super tight, even with this crazy (but cool) venue. Hope they sold a few records...
if you remix the audio a bit it might be super subjective but listening to it via an EQ extension vs the uploaded version, you get a lot more mids which sound better imo. thanks for making this though it brings a lot of joy to the world. we fuckin need it these days...
Historical!
I can feel the fucking energy
the energy back then was electrifying.
Chills
Just really really love this! Raw passion, energy and skill. Where is this in today's world? Everyone's too offended?
Tom hadn't even write "Arm The Homeless" on his Kramer at this time.
Very true one of biggest bands on planet Earth

59 AÑOS. (60)
Zack is a GOD
Yo! This is fucking really rare footage! From '92!? Amazing!
🔥🔥🔥
Oh man, they played Darkness! It sounds so good even then.
So much respect for Tom morello
Bombtrack was the first song I learned to play on guitar as a teen in 94
Best band ever
How old Zack was at that time? This man was born a prophet.
Reminds me of Tupac they were so knowledgeable and passionate about things I never thought about at 20. Pretty amazing to see
I was this close at the 9:30 club show in Washington, DC Halloween night 1999 -max capacity 650 pax 🚨🙏🏾🤘🏾🔥🚨
ça déchire
Also, Tim looks like Brad over there
Lyrics that ,........Sadly never age !
