- When I first rode the original Niken it was a really cool experience having two wheels in front but the whole time I felt like this would be a really good touring machine if Yamaha changed a few things up. Well, a couple months later and Yamaha gives me the opportunity to ride THIS! There new Niken GT around for a few weeks!

Hey Chase can you do a first ride on the Kawasaki Vulcan S? It's a cruiser with a Ninja 650 inline twin.
when yamaha asks for the Niken GT back Chase is gonna be like "Do I have to give it back?"

@@codychapman2099 I agree! Kawasaki Vulcan S. I'm interested in it for my first bike. Reviews have said controllable for beginners but powerful enough with experience that it's fun and you won't grow out of it.
@@bridgettemcconnell9034 also with the ergo fit to work with three different types of riders from short, average, and tall makes it the most customizable bike to everyone today.
The price is high but it looks worth it. The only thing its missing is a cup holder.

Chase on three wheels
As a man from Woodstock GA living in Oregon I just watch these videos so I can feel nostalgic about where I used to ride around Marietta and Woodstock. This is the closest video I've ever seen to where I used to live. Keep up the good work!
Last time I was this early Chase was on two wheels.
I think the police should look into them , they would make great bikes for chp.

Great Review! Glad you liked the ride as much as you did. It sure says a lot about Yamaha and their engineering dept. Your review makes me want to do a test ride myself and more than likely buy one.

I had the same feeling with seating and posture when i had a 10-12 hour ride a few months ago. For a year i now have a Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport, coming from a Honda VFR800 VTEC.
Already knew that the Tiger is way more comfortable and all around even better to use for day to day/touring and just having fun in the time i have it.
But when having to take a ride for 10 to 12 hours a few months ago i was amazed. I prepared myself for a long ride and possible aches and having to push a bit.
At the end i was not feeling tired no aches anywhere, only got a sore butt from sitting so long but that was about it.
I'm actually surprised that they sold out. I mean cudos to Yamaha for innovating but motorcyclists tend to be a traditional lot. Does it feel like a regular bike leaning over or do you notice something different?

You don't need to take the TCS off to wheelie. Level 1 will allow decently sized power wheelies but if you want to do clutch ups, you do have to turn it off.

While I don't always feel like I agree, or would agree with some of Chase's opinions, the quality of actual video and cinematics is great. I can tell you work hard on making quality videos and I appreciate it.
Just got a new job, this bike will be my Christmas present to myself! I hope they make this in a nice dark red like the Yamaha 2014 FJR.
This isn't the first review of this machine that I have watched. But it is the one where the reviewer has had the most fun. I am intrigued.
I learned how to ride on a Yamaha Tricity a few years ago so this seems like a natural next step to me. That being said I don't think it's worth paying extra for the GT.

Never ridden a motorcycle before, and I've never realized that motorcycles didn't come with cruise control. Just amazing.
Some bikes do have a throttle lock, not quite cruise control but it will maintain your speed on level roads!

I have 2 friends that have them and they say it's the best sport touring bike they have ever ridden. Can smoke people racing with all the comforts lmao I've seen it with my very own eyes.
It doesn't look like a real bike, but handles like one.. Must be wierd to ride one, I would try one though... Just curiosity. By the way love the wrecked bike rebuild series watched all 3, now on 4 well done Chase.

Hate to say but this bike looks like a blast to ride
I bet the wheels are narrower than a standard wheel cause you're dividing the weight. It probably has the same size contact patch as another bike of the same weight. I would love to see the phisics they ran. I'm sure if the wheels where wider then risk of hydroplaning would be come a problem. Have fun :)
120/70/15 same width and profile as the normal MT09 Tracer/FZ09 whichever your country calls it, but on 15inch wheels instead of 17
Still would stick with my Versys1000LT. The front end seems too complicated and expensive to service.
Itll add more time to the process, but the costs wouldnt skyrocket like most would lead you to believe.
Although i'm not doubting a lot of engineering wemt into the frontend i don't think it would be all that complicated to service and i think it was built well enough to not break very commonly. But i guess time will tell.
The best sport touring is the BMW s1000XR. You should review one!

So...are you getting a Niken GT as your next bike?? You seem to be enjoying yourself quite a bit not to seriously consider it.
I saw on a Niken at a local stealership and the first thing that i noticed it how much it felt like a motorcycle. If someone blindfolded you and sat you on the bike you would have no idea that you're on a three wheeler.
Chase you need to ride it on properly wet roads and show us that, the roads in this video were pretty dry.

I ride like that in the rain on z1000 cuz i wanna get where i am going asap. I hate getting wet. You only lose 7% traction in the rain so you have to slow down and only lean to 35 degrees or less. Most people don’t even lean to a 35 degree.So with two wheels up front I would expect it to handle better in the rain

@@casey360360 I said not a bike but a trike. The difference isn't the location of the wheels but the number of the wheels with bi = 2 and tri = 3. Both two and three wheeled machines can be called motorcycle.

My local dealer has a model they can't move. Selling it for 14k with a free three year warranty. It looks fun, but I'd rather have my ninja 1000
