Thanks for that 🙏😊
Brilliant! Thank you for making these amazing videos!
Glad you enjoy them Marcelo. Thanks too 🙏👍🏻😊
I've only recently discovered you Ash. I'm a 55yr old post menopausal woman who ran on a regular basis but then fell out with running just before Christmas 2023. August 2024 had me saying to myself ya gotta get back there. I found you on you tube and you are definitely helping me get back up to my 10 k run. I'm currently running for 30 then walking for 5 and running for 15. I warm up and cool down using your videos and am just trying out the strength ones. I confess I only did one round today lol. I'm seeing a difference in my running and I'm not as achy as I use to be. Plus, I'm back running the bitch out of myself so I'm a nice person to others , so thank you
Thank you so much for that Jacqui. It was so nice to read about your journey and how my videos have started to fit into your routine. Well done for sticking at your running as I have had clients that have struggled through menopause and I know it can be very traumatic for the body and mind. I really appreciate your comment and good luck getting back up to 10k 🙏😊
Awesome!! Thank you! I am a 50 year old woman who has been running for 15 years. I have struggled over the years with injuries in my hips/glutes/hip flexors, also with plantar fasciitis. Your strength training videos are helping me get stronger in my weaker areas. As an older runner and a woman I find your videos very accessible and friendly to my aging female body. Thank you!!!!!
You're so welcome Faith. That’s so great to hear 😊 I’m glad you enjoy my strength sessions and well done for taking care of your body with this type of session 👍🏻 I appreciate you commenting, thanks 🙌🏻
Hi, I'm not 50 but I'm struggling with the exact same injuries/issues. Would you mind telling me what has worked for you to deal with those?
Thank you I’d love to see more strength training for runners content! Those hip bridges were burning 😂
Double session with me, well done 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I usually post stretches on Monday and Friday. The Wednesday video is usually either a strength, mobility or warmup session so they’ll be more to come for sure 😊
Thank you Ash! Only had time for one round this morning but definitely keeping this for my days not running. Would love to see more strength training videos!
Glad you enjoyed this one Anna 😊 well done for putting in the strength work 👍🏻 thanks for commenting as always, more to come for sure 🙌🏻
Thanks for the videos and all the effort you put in, Ash! The tips on how to combine this into a longer workout were also greatly appreciated it.
Thanks so much for that. I really appreciate your comment🙏😊
Glad I stumbled across this video, and your others. I’m currently training for my 11th full, and as I get older ( just shy of 50), strengthening and stretching are become a bigger part of my routine!
Welcome to my RUclips community 👋 well done for starting to put the strength and stretch work into your routine, your body will be definitely grateful long term 🙌🏻 thanks for commenting 😊
Thanks Ash! This is a quick, easy bodyweight routine to use as I ease away from weighted workouts and into my marathon taper. It feels reassuring to keep the legs and core activated through these weeks.
Great to hear Kristin. Well done for tapering well 🙌🏻👍🏻😊
Thank you. Your talk makes me feel each pose shorter and complete till the last😊
Thank you for that 🙏😊
Thank you for posting this video! I'm returning to running after having a baby and I want to run a half marathon in March!
No problem Alexa, glad it was helpful. Good luck with your goal of half marathon in March 🙌🏻 Thanks for commenting 🙏😊
Thank you Ash!! 😊
You're so welcome as always 👍🏻👍🏻😊
Thank you for this video Ash! I used to do your post run stretching during last marathon season... Its training time again and glad that you have strength training videos too now! Love your content!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment 🙏😊
Thanks for this video, I’m a 53 yr old runner of 2 years and stepping up
From HM to Full Marathon has caused some injuries , from lack of strength
These videos will help me I’m sure
Thank tou
Well done for adding strength work into your routine Lewis, absolutely will help mate!
Thank you! Great sequence- especially liked the hamstring exercise.
Thank you too Natalie 😊
Thanks for the effort you put into producing these videos Ash. Much appreciated and very important for my 65 year old newbie-runner legs,, to keep injury-free while attempting to increase my distance and speed. Much easier to work along with you than trying to motivate myself to do them on my own.😊
Thanks for that Jenny. I’m so glad my videos are helping you. Well done for running at 65 and strength training 🙌🏻👍🏻😊
Great workout. I like that you pushed me to a second round. I like the specific runner workout. Good job Ash
Great job Fiona, well done! Great to see you here as always 👍🏻😊
Thank you, Ash. Your workouts are the best. Feeling stronger every day!🎉🎉
Thanks so much for that 🙏😊
I truly didn't feel like training strength at all today (did get a 5 mile trail run and some foam rolling in earlier), but I came across the video and felt like I could manage 18 minutes. So glad I did! Thanks, Ash!
Thats so great to hear that you are glad you did this Tiffany. Sounds like a busy Saturday, well done on the 5 mile trail run and foam roll too 🙌😀
Thanks Ash, super helpful!
You're so welcome Katie. I appreciate that, thank you too 🙏😊
Thanks Ash, 2 strength sessions this week feeling fab
Wonderful Helen, well done for getting those 2 strength sessions in. Especially after feeling extra achy from the first one 😂🙌🏻😊
@@RunBetterwithAsh haha! Yes! I wonder how I will feel tomorrow 😂😂
Thank you for putting this content out there, very helpful. I just did 1 round of this workout and completely sweating 🥵 and feeling stronger! 💪
You're so welcome! Many thanks for your comment and well done for doing this session 🙌😀
Hi Ash. Jo from SA here again. I love this workout. Shot enough to fit into my morning but intense enough to feel well stiff later! 😊 The thing I have noticed the most from your sessions is that my hamstrings are feeling stronger. Thank you so much! I'm definitely running more efficiently and getting stronger from your sessions. 🇿🇦
Thank you so much for following along with me and commenting your kind words of support Joanne🙏 that’s so nice to read how my videos have helped your hamstrings 😊 greetings to SA from England 👋
Great Challengeling myself, thanks friend
Thanks for coming to these so often my friend!
Gracias, Great strengthening sessions
Thank you too and well done Jose!!
Thank you so much. I actually almost cried during this because you were so gentle. All of the other running workouts are so intense and I can never feel like I can keep up, but with yours, the 18 minutes felt like 8, and I got a good burn. I finished without feeling like a failure which sounds weird, but with all the others I do, so thank you for this incredible workout
Thank you so much too Abigail. That’s amazing to know how this helped you. Well done for doing this strength work as it’s an area so many runners skip. I appreciate your kind words 😊🙌🏻
Thanks ash!!New runner doing couch to 5k. Almost completed the programme. Your videos have prevented me from having any post run pain. Now working to build my strength. Glad I found your channel 8 weeks ago 😊 thank you
Amazing Ruth! Well done for nearly completing C25K 👍🏻 so glad my videos have helped. Well done for caring for your body with strength training 🙌🏻😊

You're welcome 😊 thanks too 👍🏻
Brilliant as always xx
Thank you Karen, I really appreciate that 😊
Thank you so much, I hurt my knee on my run yesterday. I’m back to running after years of non movement. I enjoyed this and my back and hips feel so much loose. Much love all way from 🇿🇦
You're so welcome! Welcome back to running, I hope you get the running bug again. Well done for doing this and greetings to 🇿🇦 from 🏴
Thank you😊
You're so welcome, thank you too 😀
Thank you Ash!!!!! I loved this!!! I need all the strength training I can get!!! Excited to hear about your upcoming membership! Also, thank you for reminding me to keep smiling throughout this workout. It’s easy to frown when you’re doing something challenging. But when reminded to smile, I remember why I started this journey in the first place….I LOVE to RUN and strength training/yoga helps me stay healthy and injury free. 😊 Love it!! Thanks as always, this was one of my favorite workouts of yours!
I think the term is ‘Hybrid Athlete’ I read it on a blog today. We’re realising that a bit of everything is good for us rather than focusing heavily on one as specialisation weakens us. Well done as always Emily 🙌🏻 glad I could help you strengthen your body 😊
I have been using your videos everyday since I found your channel, I love that you talk us through everything rather than obnoxious music in the background. Its what keeps me coming back, that and the no repeats! Thank you Ash, always a pleasure!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback as always Karsen!! It really does give me a little boost to read. I often get comments about talking too much, but that’s just me. I like to help and give information. It’s so great to see you so regularly in the comments 👍🏻😊
Would love an episode dedicated to core. Love this and have shared with my training partner.
Thank you. Here’s some core and another coming out next week:

You're so welcome Kelly. Thank you too for commenting 🙏😊
Thanks Ash. 18mins was perfect, can always find 18mins mid-week so there's no excuse not to do it!
Absolutely Shaun 🙌🏻 that’s why I try to keep them short and sweet. Well done for doing the strength work 👍🏻😊

Glad you liked this strength session with me Terry, thanks for commenting to let me know 🙏😊
Great workout! I was pleasantly surprised that with my wrist injuries I could do all with modifications except the shoulder tap (I just did some stretches). Will be repeating!❤
Glad you liked it! so glad I could help you strengthen your body, thanks for stretching with me and commenting as always🙏🙌🏻
Great video, wanted to change up my exercices and these are perfect for me!
Perfect! So happy to help you mix things up Emma 👍🏻😊
Thanks for always having great material
I appreciate that Jose, thank you so much 🙏😊
Repeated this morning! Thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed this strength session again Nicole! I appreciate your comments, thank you 🙏😊
Thank you this was an amazing workout👏
Thank you too Andrea, I appreciate your comments 🙏😀
Love this workout. Day 1 & 2 I could feel the burn from the bridges in my quads and not my glutes however my glutes did hurt like muscle ache. Day 3 I could feel the burn in my glutes 🔥 I have been running for years without strength training and never got injured, got a hamstring injury in yoga doing the splits 5 years ago now and have injury after injury. Hoping these exercises help as physio, shockwave, dry needling and acupuncture have done nothing for my hamstring injury.
It’s so great to hear about your journey Sue. Well done for bringing strength training into your routine now. I’ll add a video at the bottom that is a hamstring strengthening routine that may help but obviously make sure it’s ok if you are still seeing a physio. Thanks for your comment 🙏😊

Thanks Ash. Great video. I definitely need to do more strength as a runner. This is really useful.
You're so welcome Sally, I’m glad you enjoy my strength session. It’s essential work that a lot of runners skip, well done for doing it 😊 thanks for commenting 🙏
Thanks again Ash abd ready to go, after my ankle injury it felt more difficult
Well done Jose 👍🏻😊
Thank you!
Thank you too Kevin 😊 I appreciate you commenting to let me know you enjoyed this strength session🙏 well done for doing the hard work that a lot of runners skip 🙌🏻
Really like this workout feels like strengthing whilst squishing , thanks Ash
Absolutely, a mix of both Colin. Flexibility and strength = mobility, I usually say 👍🏻😊
Loved this thanks Ash. The only strength I am doing atm ao support my running. I'll need to get onto the 2nd round challenge soon!! Perfect before work though.. short enough so I make sure I do it ❤
Thank you so much Nicole, I appreciate your comments 👍🏻😊❤️

Hey! You're so welcome, thank you too for following along with me and commenting🙏😊
Thanks Ash. That bridge variation on the heels was a new one to me. Has it got a name? It's pretty hard, so it must be doing something good 😉
I think you mean the hamstring variation? It’s a hamstring focused bridge. Thanks as always for your comments Dave 👍🏻😊
Thanks Ash
No problem Simon 🙌🏻 great to see you as always mate 😊
Thanks for the video
You are very welcome, well done for doing the strength work 🙌🏻😊
Thanks for the video ash
No worries as always Simon, great to see you strength training with me 😊👍🏻
Thank you Ash! Not yet ready to do two rounds, but maybe someday 😅
Well done for doing 1 round Hannah 🙌🏻 this is essential work to keep our body strong so you’ve done great things for your body. Thanks for commenting to let me know 😊🙌🏻
2/3 strenght sessin day thank u
Massive WELL DONE Jose 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻😊
Thanks for the video, would love more of these strength workouts. Will definitely consider the membership. I only did one round today, being on my hands is a bit tough after fracturing my wrist 2 years ago and a thumb tendon repair operation. How often should this workout be done? Off to do a relaxing stretch. Thank you
Nice work on the strength session Karen 🙌🏻 thanks re membership 😊 I would say do these strength sessions 2/3 times per week 20-40 minutes 👍🏻
I’d love some more please maybe some geared towards knee pain relief

@@RunBetterwithAsh thanks
These strength videos are so great. Here's a question: Do you have to be worried about the sounds your joints make if there is no pain associated with the sound? Like the old parable: If your knees crack in the middle of the forest, but you're too old to hear it, does it really matter? Thanks Ash!
😂😂 love that Karen. No pain popping is generally considered ok as it’s usually bubbles of air popping in the joints. If you do get discomfort or pain though definitely something to get checked. Just recorded another one of these today, slightly longer 👍🏻😊
Great work out exercises thanq
I know this comment is late since the video is 7 months old, but I am 55 and just starting my run/walk journey, so I am late to everything.
Thanks for the video Ash - very helpful.
A quick question - in the first exercise I am finding the strain in my thighs rather than my glutes. Am I doing it wrong or just not fit enough yet?
I am also finding your 5 minute warm up and cool down videos very helpful.
Thanks again.
Welcome to my channel and RUclips community Dave! You have likely got sleepy glutes which is very common and the quads take over. You can do this exercise and keep tapping the glute(bum) to train the brain to activate against the tapping. That will help but may take a bit of practice to crack it 👍🏻
I loved it, so did my core 😂
😂 amazing, well done for doing this 🙌🏻😊
Great vid:)
Thanks Jill, great to see you doing the strength work too. Well done 🙌🏻😊
How often would you recommend to do this?
Also, where do we fit it into the day?
Before run, after run, separate day?
I would recommend strength training at least 2 times per week. Ideally non-running days if you can 👍🏻 well done for doing this strength work 🙌🏻
The plank at the end! 😅
Nice work Toni, well done for doing this strength work and the plank at the end 🙌🏻👍🏻thanks for letting me know 🙏
Would this be best to do on run days or rest days?
I would do this on a non-running strength day Giovanni 👍
@ thank you!!
First!! ?/5 Sorry haven't watched yet just wanted to be the first. Thanks in advance Ash :)
😂😂 first in the comments Ben 👍🏻
😊
Thanks!
You’re very welcome, well done for strength training 🙌🏻😊
1st round yees
Fantastic work Jose 👍🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😊
Thank you
You're welcome 👍🏻😊
