Bought one of these 10x8.5 x5 and here is what I found: - Assembly: Instructions where not included in the box and you have to download them - They changed the pipe design so the kit comes with a few less pipes. However, they did not update the assemble directions, “what is in the box’, or even notify the user the design was changed. (Because of this I thought I was missing parts and had to call support before I got in to putting it together and then had to figuring out the changes). - Putting the one-piece enclosure on was a little tricky. Getting the orientation right slowed it down a little bit. I think this could have been solved with a few labels on the kit ( top right back, top left back, etc… After assembly, - Enclosure looks good, it was great not having to cut pipes, Bounce back is a non issue, and the screen being offset is nice. Assembly could have been easier with a few simple refinement as noted above. This is a 1500 product and details matter. Cons… -Screen: not sure it is as high quality as Carl’s Premium. I was told that it was but it seems the weave could be tighter and picture crisper. Would appreciate other’s thoughts on this. - The Screen also has a ripple at the bottom 1/2 like if you threw a stone in water. I tightened as much as possible and waiting for support to advise. I have to say, that I am not happy about this at all. Yes it helps bounce back but it hurts the image quality. I am really hoping they can solve this. - Generally I think this industry could be much better at serving the customer with information after sale. Like … recommended projectors or link to the projector tools, best recommended resolution settings for the size screen you just bought for a full screen experience or other. Maybe general guides for setting up a DYI sim with wiring ideas, options etc… Like Crutchfeild does when you buy from them. Creating quality documentation and proactive guidance to the user for best possible experience with a product goes a long way. Hope that helps…

Jay, I'm looking for one of your videos where you talk about using an Apple TV to link an iPad with E6 software on it to a projector. That sounds like a killer way to get started. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks
So it’s a pretty simple setup. Just plug the Apple TV into the projector via hdmi. Set it up like you normally would to a TV. Then you can airplay the iPad to the projector. I haven’t tested this myself as I didn’t need to but others told me it worked well.
How to you expand the screen on the projector thru the laptop? You said something about in video control panels settings? Thank you for the great video
You just set the resolution in the NVIDIA control panel based on your screen format and projector capabilities. Screens can be 1:1 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9. 4:3 is the most popular and good experience.

@@GolfSimulatorVideos For sure man, like I said, this definitely seems like a competitively priced product and has a lot of really cool features that are tough to implement DIY. Nice video. There really is a lack of complete DIY simulator instructions out there. I just completed building my own DIY simulator and it literally took weeks of research on each component of the build. Everything from the impact screen, frame, projector, and the mats. I see lots of people out there showing off pretty janky setups, but my setup is very close to what you showed and I can verify that the Optoma gt1080hdr projector is a great value. Keep up the great work!
Yes you are mentioning the exact reason I made this video. This is the lowest price point quality all in one package for sure and as you can see built it all by myself. Shocking how easy it is, this enclosure package really makes it simple and low-cost of course. Thanks for watching.
Nice setup. I think when I do mine, I'll try to pull the lay the screen quite taut and then have some memory foam or (enclosed drywall insulation???) as a backer so the ball does not spring back at me. Not sure if this will reduce the life of the screen or not, but the less wrinkles the better I think.

I really want to get into something like this for my 3rd car garage or in my main garage since it’s long enough plus I can always roll up the mat or put it to the side when I’m not using. Questions: 1: how ya are your garage ceiling and do you have a normal garage door opener or a side wall mount yes opener? 2: looks fine with most all clubs however how is it hitting say a full 60 degree wedge with the projector there? 3: for the price… would you prefer the sky track or flight-scope? I like that the flight scope comes with E6? My main goal is to work on the range, course play and occasionally online tournaments. Just have to convince the wife I need THIS!
This is a side garage door opening. Wedges actually are find as long as you are not too far away and not intentionally launching high which no reason to in a sim environment. Feel free to email me and I can provide you information various items.
Yes there are tons of software apps available for the various launch monitors. I just showed a few here. You can see them all in the channel. Thanks for watching!
Nice video! It looks like you are using an iPad. What model are you using? I want to make sure that I get one that works with Skytrak plus. Thanks! Hoping an iPad is less expensive than a laptop. Thanks!
Great video, been interested in a diy setup for a while but not sure I have a big enough space for it. What would be the minimum space you'd need for the setup you have? Including room to swing/ball to screen distance etc.
Sorry I missed this. Space depends on the technolgoy and some certain use like Right/Left players etc. The standard go to for a full sim comfortable R/L center tee position is 15' wide, 10' tall ceiling and 20-25ft deep. But there are options for much smaller and bigger depending. Feel free to email me to discuss. a98cr125@gmail.com
Is the projector directly about the Skytrak? How far off the center of the screen is the Skytrak? Any issues with hitting the projector when swinging ?
The projector was just infront of the golfer in this. I like it to be more above the golfer but this was just a temporary setup to show. Most would mount to their ceiling.
I love the set up, I have a 18 x30 game room, I am just learn how to properly hit and correct form. I would like to have something like this just to practice. What would you recommend and cost!
You just can get an Apple lightning or USB-C dongle to HDMI very simple. It is all about if you have the space and proper setup for Mevo+. Watch my Which One You Should buy video. ruclips.net/video/q2rEGITy204/видео.html
So the two systems the flight scope you need good distance behind you facing the screen and the skytrack tue system is by the ball? That is what I’m gathering. My kids are right hand I’m left.
You’re so engaging it’s lovely. I meant to watch a few minutes of your video but man the tips! the honesty! the great reviews and insight into all the products!! I don’t golf much and all of the sudden I am out here looking to build my own “diy affordable home golf simulator” (take a shot every time he says that if you want to pregame to a party with your golf buddies)
so it looks like theres a dimple forming in the center of the screen from centered ball impacts?? have you broken through yet?? any fixes? is the screen under warranty against impact holes?
That happens with any screen if you are hitting the same spot. Most screens being used a lot need to be replaced every few years. I have some updates to this. Shoot me an email and I can provide you with all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
Not really. Any good launch monitor measures the ball so will it show it and even somewhat close distance on short shots, sure but spin will be way off and distance would get worse and worse as you hit linger shots.
It seems like a good starting set up if you have the indoor room. My problem is I am building it outside in my yard (Ceilings in my garage are not high enough) and this unit is listed as Indoors only.
Outdoors you would just want to use a net setup. This could be be used outdoors but you would want it covered to prevent wear and tear from water and the elements.
@@imasspeons that really is not true. Many have set them up and protected from the elements one way or another, but yes just setting out outside in the open, no this is not intended for that, but there are options.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos at the point where you've built a structure to shade and protect the setup from weather and wear, the question of it being outdoors becomes academic, IMO. It's basically inside.
The Mat shown here was at low cost mat that I am not sure is available anymore. I can get you a full list of options and discount codes if you want to compare them all. Feel free to just email me when you can. a98cr125@gmail.com
Dan, not sure what could be happening, yes TopShelf is one of the largest in the business. Shoot me an email because they are all working for me I just tested them? a98cr125@gmail.com
Hey Jay, great video. Changed my entire direction on my enclosure. You mention that this setup cost 2700 with the simulator, but I am seeing the enclosure cost 2400 by itself. Can you suggest better links? I have a space with 9ft walls and 14 ft wide
same.... his deal is not our deal or inflation made the price 2x since creation of video...... even after applying discount code. My price is 5K to get what he got. Not so cheap anymore so video title is misleading.
Hey didn’t know if you still had this simulator or if your still using it? Would like to buy everything from you if you don’t use it! I’m new to golf but want to learn!
So im kinda confused still. How is the Video knowing where the hall goes? Is that just with the app your using on your tablet? Or does the ball have sensors?
I use foam balls with my kids but love the idea of using a simulator and real balls. If you hit a wild shot off the toe of the clubface at a distance of say 10' from the screen, will the enclosure be likely to catch the ball, with the 5' deep walls?
I mean it would have to be a big big miss but anything is possible right? :) you can go to the 10x10x10 to fix that since it is 10ft deep. Thanks for watching 🍻
I have a friend that has this set up at his house but he has the skytrack set up for right handed golfers and I'm a left handed golfer, is there a way to set up the skytrack to swivel for left handed and right handed golfers?
You just have to move It to the other side each time. Best way is to place tape on each spot so you can easily line it up each time. Fully charged battery and wireless connection makes it relatively easy.
The enclosure.......the 10 X 10 you mentioned I could not find....(did you meant 10 x 8.5?) , did not see one in your link. And the price $2299? Projector $400....that alone hits the budget. What am i missing? Also, the software is on the laptop, correct?.....is the projector bluetooth to the computer or hard wired? Thank you.
I have all the components and am ready to build. The I noticed is that it looks like the projector would be in harms way if mounted dead center. It looks like you offset it. How far did you move off center?
You just need to set a custom resolution and you could potentially get it to fit but this was a very DIY temporary setup to show a low cost budget option. I have a lot more newer DIY builds, check them out :)
Is this more of a set it up and leave it alone ... Or can you assemble and dissemble just as easy? I am looking at putting this in my garage vs build my own and looking at room... cars.... etc... My garage is more than capable, just trying to appease the household. Thanks for any input.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks for that..... I am trying to make sure that the cars can go back in and that I have room to either park into it or just disassemble. Thanks again.
That was a cheap mat at the time for demo. It is kind of similar to Fiberbuilt Tee Box but Fiberbuilt is better quality for sure. I actually just showed the Tee Box here: ruclips.net/user/shortsT-36BZwSbnQ
Hey, great video, I have a question, I was just curious on how the ball gets tracked, do u need a tracker or do u just need the projector and the computer? Sorry, I'm not great with technology and was just curious on how it tracks the ball.
He uses the Mevo + and a Skytrak in this video . Those are the devices that track the ball. The Mevo sits behind you, while the Skytrak sits next to the ball. Each of them costs around $2,000. There are lots of reviews for each of them out there, with some many people preferring one over the other. If you don't have much length to your room, you will want the Skytrak. If you have a lot of length, you can use either one.
With a launch monitor. In this video I show SkyTrak and Mevo+ but there are many others from R10 to GCQuad etc. You can just add one to this setup basically and you have a golf simulator. Be sure to check out my other builds in the channel and you can learn more. Thanks for watching and feel free to email.
Thank you for very informative video! I've been swinging back and forth if it was worth it. Finally jump the gun last month. I purchased mine from 24/7 Golf in Melbourne. Absolutely loving it.
Just got a house with a 34x26x9 garage wife says i can do what ever i want with it. But I a budget lol. I will email you with questions. Thank you. Great channel great video.
Yes, I know may people using this with 9' ceilings. You should be good to go. You just have to assemble properly in place since you can't tilt it as much as you are seeing here. With 2 people you should be able to do it pretty easily. Thanks for watching
This was a temp setup. It is safe since directly in the middle. But, ideally you would just ceiling mount. Thanks for watching and feel free to email for info.
I didn't think I had the space either (and perhaps you don't) but after some rearranging I managed to pull it off in my small garage. I go over dimensions and stuff in a vid I posted about my build if you are interested.
Great video and review of a low budget practice golf simulator...Thanks....Earnest Sports makes some nice golf launch monitors that work with a I Pad....not sure about simulator projectors....
So if I buy the 10 x 10 10 what are the room dimensions need to hit driver? Also to play courses what is the best simulator to buy? Looks for fairly accurate speed and distance for all clubs. Putting not as important. Like integrated mats. Lovely setup. Thanks mike
Hi Michael, Thanks for watching and commenting. So it really depends on the user and the preferred setup. You can set things up slightly off centered and probably can get away with a room about 12' wide depending on the size of golfer and driver length is just where you want to always test the room size yourself with small slow swings etc. I have seen people fit sims in rooms just wide enough to fit an enclosure like this with a offset setup!

Any tips on mounting the skytrak screen - I’m struggling getting it up.
It’s was pretty straightforward for me. What is the issue?
just purchased the enclosure. Thanks for the breakdown & discount code!
Nice! Congrats. I appreciate you watching!
Nice video! It looks like you are using an iPad. What model are you using? I want to make sure that I get one that works with Skytrak plus. Thanks! Hoping an iPad is less expensive than a laptop. Thanks!
Sorry I missed this. This is a iPad pro 11" from 2021.
How tall is your garage ceiling. I'd like to install one in my garage. How tall must the ceiling be? Thanks
Where does one get the matt you have in this video?
Just shoot me and email whenever you have a minute and I can provide you a bunch of information. a98cr125@gmail.com
Hi, which package did you go with on this video? Thank you
Email me so I can break it for easier. Too much for the comment section. a98cr125@gmail.com
Can you play courses from around the world or is it just driving range stuff like you used
There is a lot of software available. Check out my other videos. Thousands of courses. Thanks for watching
Can you please show a close up of how the projector mount attaches to the hitting bay pole? Thats what im having trouble with now.
How big is your garage? Wall height? Length? Width?
Thanks
Good job! We're going to need a few of these.
Thanks! Awesome golf was a perfect fit here :) Would be glad to help get a package deal for you guys.
I love the set up, I have a 18 x30 game room, I am just learn how to properly hit and correct form. I would like to have something like this just to practice. What would you recommend and cost!
Nice space! Shoot me an email and I can get you some options 👍
a98cr125@gmail.com
Good job! I'm suprised the beamer does so well with the light from the side
Thanks for watching 🍻
Outstanding! Would you mind re-posting links for the components, namely the mat and enclosure, please? Thanks!
Shoot me an email I can provide all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
Great video. what is the projector make and model?
In this video I used a optima 1080hdr
Question for you! My screen is 8 feet wide and 9 feet tall...any suggestions what I could use to get an image on the entire screen?
The closest would be 4:3 or setting a custom resolution, using the Nvidia control panel.
nice video,,how does the hdmi dongle work? and which do you prefer the mevo plus or skytrack,,,i have enough room for either,,ty-mike
You just can get an Apple lightning or USB-C dongle to HDMI very simple. It is all about if you have the space and proper setup for Mevo+. Watch my Which One You Should buy video.
ruclips.net/video/q2rEGITy204/видео.html
This is awesome. I will email to pick your brain. This has been the best video and setup I have seen. What monitors are you using? Two different ones?
So the two systems the flight scope you need good distance behind you facing the screen and the skytrack tue system is by the ball? That is what I’m gathering. My kids are right hand I’m left.
You’re so engaging it’s lovely. I meant to watch a few minutes of your video but man the tips! the honesty! the great reviews and insight into all the products!! I don’t golf much and all of the sudden I am out here looking to build my own “diy affordable home golf simulator” (take a shot every time he says that if you want to pregame to a party with your golf buddies)
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
so it looks like theres a dimple forming in the center of the screen from centered ball impacts?? have you broken through yet?? any fixes? is the screen under warranty against impact holes?
That happens with any screen if you are hitting the same spot. Most screens being used a lot need to be replaced every few years. I have some updates to this. Shoot me an email and I can provide you with all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
Do you have a list of everything in the video or a complete package that is available to purchase that is the same as the video?
Shoot me an email and I can help. a98cr125@gmail.com or most links are in the description
How does this machine read the ball’s movement? Is there any sensor?
I demonstrated two here. One is radar / camera and the other is camera.
Is it possible to use foam balls? Thinking about doing this at my office, but sound could be an issue.
Thank you for the video!
No screen and projector setup is going to work well outdoors. Use a net
@@imasspeons many do it. You really only need a roof in nice climates, I see it all the time.
Does a slightly sloped garage floor matter? Do I need to be parallel or perpendicular to the slope? Do I need to shim the mats?
It can potential be an issue with too much slope if using a radar and putting. For camera systems it should have no issue or if not putting.
My setup is a little bigger but that is basically what I built myself. With computer, Skytrack, Protee, etc etc I was all in for $5500.
Thanks for watching Greg, this was under $2,700 so even add a SkyTrak or Mevo and you are only at $4,700 and if you went 13' wide only $5000.
Was the projector a separate purchase?
What hitting mat did you use ?
The Mat shown here was at low cost mat that I am not sure is available anymore. I can get you a full list of options and discount codes if you want to compare them all. Feel free to just email me when you can. a98cr125@gmail.com
9/8/2022 looking at doing something like this and can't get your links to work. Is topshelfgolf still in business?
Dan, not sure what could be happening, yes TopShelf is one of the largest in the business. Shoot me an email because they are all working for me I just tested them? a98cr125@gmail.com
Do you like the flight scope? How about the new GC3?
Mevo+ is a good value for sure. I have a GC3 on the way just waiting for it to arrive and I will be covering it.
Hey Jay, great video. Changed my entire direction on my enclosure. You mention that this setup cost 2700 with the simulator, but I am seeing the enclosure cost 2400 by itself. Can you suggest better links? I have a space with 9ft walls and 14 ft wide
That is pretty much what I am seeing as well
It’s $2,700 without Skytrak or Mevo
same.... his deal is not our deal or inflation made the price 2x since creation of video...... even after applying discount code. My price is 5K to get what he got. Not so cheap anymore so video title is misleading.
Yeah, I think he's purposely leaving out the cost of the Skytrak/Flightscope. This is really a $5,000 setup vs the $2,700 he's saying it is.
amazing video
Can you please provide some tips on the driving mat?
Rgrds
Hi Juan, not sure what you are asking. Feel free to email. Thanks for watching
I show two different launch monitors here that are reading all of the ball metrics. SkyTrak and Mevo+.
Where did you get the projector mount?
It was just a cheapy from Amazon. Many options out there.
now i just need 12-foot ceilings in my garage. great build sir
Most sim builds are only 9ft-10ft tall ceilings so it is not necessary to go 12 unless you just want to. Thanks for watching!
I did my build with 9 1/2 foot ceilings. I'm not that tall though (5 11).
Thank You.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! 🍻
I’m left handed and all my golf buddies are right handed. How do I use the flight scope for us all?
Is there a way to hit driver off of that mat?
Yes it takes tee's but you can also just use stand tees like Birtees.
Bought this exact setup (using the discount code…thanks!!) and set it up last night. Thanks so much!
Awesome! You're welcome 🍻
Did you get the mevo or flight scope ?
@@anwardfyith5955 I went with the SkyTrak. Seems to be really accurate so far.
@@AlanBrockImages thanks for sharing, Alan
Any experience using a hitting screen that is a bit more quiet? Perhaps the Carl’s Golf Premium screen..any thoughts on this? Thanks
1.5 playback speed makes this video so much more enjoyable!
Whatever works for you! Thanks for watching
Will that projector not fill out the whole screen
You just need to set a custom resolution and you could potentially get it to fit but this was a very DIY temporary setup to show a low cost budget option. I have a lot more newer DIY builds, check them out :)
How far from the hitting screen do you need to be?
9 feet is safe for most environments I prefer 10 feet. Some people are only seven or 8 feet but I would just be careful
Is this more of a set it up and leave it alone ... Or can you assemble and dissemble just as easy? I am looking at putting this in my garage vs build my own and looking at room... cars.... etc... My garage is more than capable, just trying to appease the household. Thanks for any input.
A friend of mine and myself took this entire setup down and packed it into a car in about 10-15 min. Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks for that..... I am trying to make sure that the cars can go back in and that I have room to either park into it or just disassemble. Thanks again.
how long does the impact screen last before you push a ball through it? I see it isn't spring loaded
Shoot me and email and I can explain more on this. Too much to list in comments. a98cr125@gmail.com
Maybe I'm missing it but which hitting mat did you use?
Awesome to hear, Mason! Thanks for watching!
Hey Jay!! Love your content man. Looks like the link to the putting turf is broken. Do you have an alternative?
I think they sold out. You can easily get really nice SynLawn from Lowe's now. A great choice. Thanks for watching!
Wrinkles in the screens really get my OCD. Any other screens you recommend?
There has been many upgrades since this. Email me a98cr125@gmail.com
Hi, may i know how much for the enclosure itself?
Shoot me an email I'll get you all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
Great set up - would love to find out if you are able to offer a retractable enclosure???
Yes my partner has a nice one. Shoot me an email. a98cr125@gmail.com
@@GolfSimulatorVideos email sent!
Great video!!! do you have to have wifi to run the skytrak?
No you can use a USB connection from a PC to the SkyTrak unit. Thanks for watching
Just got a house with a 34x26x9 garage wife says i can do what ever i want with it. But I a budget lol. I will email you with questions. Thank you. Great channel great video.
Awesome. Thanks for watching
I want it! Great movie 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Do you have to use the dot on the ball for mevo in the such a large enclosure?
Yes Flightscope recommends the metal dot unless outdoor for accurate spin readings. Thanks for watching
Got this one. It's great!
Nice. Thanks for watching
What kind of area do you need I have 9 ft ceilings in my basement is that enough
Yes, I know may people using this with 9' ceilings. You should be good to go. You just have to assemble properly in place since you can't tilt it as much as you are seeing here. With 2 people you should be able to do it pretty easily. Thanks for watching
What brand and model mat do you have and what size is it?
That's the softstrike. Feel free to email for info and to buy. Thanks for watching
This enclosure by 24/7 vs. a Carl's Place enclosure - If I was looking to do a step above a budget one (16:9), which one would you recommend?
If you email me I can explain in detail 👍
a98cr125@gmail.com
hey are you worried about banging the projector?
This was a temp setup. It is safe since directly in the middle. But, ideally you would just ceiling mount. Thanks for watching and feel free to email for info.
What are you using for the runway from the mevo+ To hitting mat? Just turf and a few of the foam tiles? Thanks in advance!
Yes just a piece of turf and a few foam tiles. Anything a few feet wide and level will work just fine. Gym tiles are great. Thanks for watching
So does this come with the projector?
They are many ways you can build a golf simulator. Either individually or in packages. Shoot me an email and I can provide details. a98cr125@gmail.com
That's so awesome job I wish I have the area to get stimulator
Thanks for watching 🍻
I didn't think I had the space either (and perhaps you don't) but after some rearranging I managed to pull it off in my small garage. I go over dimensions and stuff in a vid I posted about my build if you are interested.
Great video and review of a low budget practice golf simulator...Thanks....Earnest Sports makes some nice golf launch monitors that work with a I Pad....not sure about simulator projectors....
Thanks for watching. I have tested ES. Best value and data in this price point seems to be Mevo+ and SkyTrak From my testing.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thank you so much. Mike
