Bought one of these 10x8.5 x5 and here is what I found: - Assembly: Instructions where not included in the box and you have to download them - They changed the pipe design so the kit comes with a few less pipes. However, they did not update the assemble directions, “what is in the box’, or even notify the user the design was changed. (Because of this I thought I was missing parts and had to call support before I got in to putting it together and then had to figuring out the changes). - Putting the one-piece enclosure on was a little tricky. Getting the orientation right slowed it down a little bit. I think this could have been solved with a few labels on the kit ( top right back, top left back, etc… After assembly, - Enclosure looks good, it was great not having to cut pipes, Bounce back is a non issue, and the screen being offset is nice. Assembly could have been easier with a few simple refinement as noted above. This is a 1500 product and details matter. Cons… -Screen: not sure it is as high quality as Carl’s Premium. I was told that it was but it seems the weave could be tighter and picture crisper. Would appreciate other’s thoughts on this. - The Screen also has a ripple at the bottom 1/2 like if you threw a stone in water. I tightened as much as possible and waiting for support to advise. I have to say, that I am not happy about this at all. Yes it helps bounce back but it hurts the image quality. I am really hoping they can solve this. - Generally I think this industry could be much better at serving the customer with information after sale. Like … recommended projectors or link to the projector tools, best recommended resolution settings for the size screen you just bought for a full screen experience or other. Maybe general guides for setting up a DYI sim with wiring ideas, options etc… Like Crutchfeild does when you buy from them. Creating quality documentation and proactive guidance to the user for best possible experience with a product goes a long way. Hope that helps…

Jay, I'm looking for one of your videos where you talk about using an Apple TV to link an iPad with E6 software on it to a projector. That sounds like a killer way to get started. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks
So it’s a pretty simple setup. Just plug the Apple TV into the projector via hdmi. Set it up like you normally would to a TV. Then you can airplay the iPad to the projector. I haven’t tested this myself as I didn’t need to but others told me it worked well.
Nice video. There really is a lack of complete DIY simulator instructions out there. I just completed building my own DIY simulator and it literally took weeks of research on each component of the build. Everything from the impact screen, frame, projector, and the mats. My objective was to build the nicest enclosure for the least amount of money. I see lots of people out there showing off pretty janky setups, but my setup is very close to what you showed and I can verify that the Optoma gt1080hdr projector is a great value. Keep up the great work!
Yes you are mentioning the exact reason I made this video. This is the lowest price point quality all in one package for sure and as you can see built it all by myself. Shocking how easy it is, this enclosure package really makes it simple and low-cost of course. Thanks for watching.

Nice setup. I think when I do mine, I'll try to pull the lay the screen quite taut and then have some memory foam or (enclosed drywall insulation???) as a backer so the ball does not spring back at me. Not sure if this will reduce the life of the screen or not, but the less wrinkles the better I think.

Thank you for very informative video! I've been swinging back and forth if it was worth it. Finally jump the gun last month. I purchased mine from 24/7 Golf in Melbourne. Absolutely loving it.
I didn't think I had the space either (and perhaps you don't) but after some rearranging I managed to pull it off in my small garage. I go over dimensions and stuff in a vid I posted about my build if you are interested.
I really want to get into something like this for my 3rd car garage or in my main garage since it’s long enough plus I can always roll up the mat or put it to the side when I’m not using. Questions: 1: how ya are your garage ceiling and do you have a normal garage door opener or a side wall mount yes opener? 2: looks fine with most all clubs however how is it hitting say a full 60 degree wedge with the projector there? 3: for the price… would you prefer the sky track or flight-scope? I like that the flight scope comes with E6? My main goal is to work on the range, course play and occasionally online tournaments. Just have to convince the wife I need THIS!
This is a side garage door opening. Wedges actually are find as long as you are not too far away and not intentionally launching high which no reason to in a sim environment. Feel free to email me and I can provide you information various items.
How to you expand the screen on the projector thru the laptop? You said something about in video control panels settings? Thank you for the great video
You just set the resolution in the NVIDIA control panel based on your screen format and projector capabilities. Screens can be 1:1 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9. 4:3 is the most popular and good experience.
Hey Jay! Great job on the DIY simulator video. I just bought the new Rapsodo 2 MLM Pro and plan to put something similar together. Great video and review of a low budget practice golf simulator...Thanks....Earnest Sports makes some nice golf launch monitors that work with a I Pad....not sure about simulator projectors....
This seems like a very competitive offering, but I would recommend anyone out there on a serious budget to go the DIY route. I built my 10x10x5 enclosure myself for less than $700. Breakdown: 11 x 1" EMT 10ft length(home depot) - 175$ 1 x Enclosure fittings(Cimmaron) - 99$ (Can be had for close to 70 if you buy each individually) 1 x Impact projector screen 12x10 C-stock(gungho) - 167$ 11 x 4'6" Commando Cloth (chicago canvas) - 153$ 1 x Tarp Clips(amazon) - 15$ 2 x Tube Clips(amazon)- 25$ 1 x Ball Bungees(amazon) - 10$ Total: $644 I'm not that handy of a person and there are definitely areas where you could spend more or less than I did, but you can save yourself a whole lot of markup if you go this route. I was able to do this in just a couple hours with a friend of mine.
Layne, appreciate what you are saying but you get what you pay for. That's the problems so many have I am trying t to help with. This is the ultimate setup for the money with so little effort and issues. 🍻
@@GolfSimulatorVideos For sure man, like I said, this definitely seems like a competitively priced product and has a lot of really cool features that are tough to implement DIY. I just know for someone like myself, I needed a solution that was both quality and cost less than 4k after it was all said and done. I just want others to know that it IS possible for us common folk. I saw Topshelf golf has a package that includes Skytrak, the enclosure, and a hitting mat for $3,999. To me, that is very impressive.
Great video, been interested in a diy setup for a while but not sure I have a big enough space for it. What would be the minimum space you'd need for the setup you have? Including room to swing/ball to screen distance etc.
Sorry I missed this. Space depends on the technolgoy and some certain use like Right/Left players etc. The standard go to for a full sim comfortable R/L center tee position is 15' wide, 10' tall ceiling and 20-25ft deep. But there are options for much smaller and bigger depending. Feel free to email me to discuss. a98cr125@gmail.com
Nice video! It looks like you are using an iPad. What model are you using? I want to make sure that I get one that works with Skytrak plus. Thanks! Hoping an iPad is less expensive than a laptop. Thanks!
So the two systems the flight scope you need good distance behind you facing the screen and the skytrack tue system is by the ball? That is what I’m gathering. My kids are right hand I’m left.
Hey Jay, great video. Changed my entire direction on my enclosure. You mention that this setup cost 2700 with the simulator, but I am seeing the enclosure cost 2400 by itself. Can you suggest better links? I have a space with 9ft walls and 14 ft wide
same.... his deal is not our deal or inflation made the price 2x since creation of video...... even after applying discount code. My price is 5K to get what he got. Not so cheap anymore so video title is misleading.
It seems like a good starting set up if you have the indoor room. My problem is I am building it outside in my yard (Ceilings in my garage are not high enough) and this unit is listed as Indoors only.
Outdoors you would just want to use a net setup. This could be be used outdoors but you would want it covered to prevent wear and tear from water and the elements.
@@imasspeons that really is not true. Many have set them up and protected from the elements one way or another, but yes just setting out outside in the open, no this is not intended for that, but there are options.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos at the point where you've built a structure to shade and protect the setup from weather and wear, the question of it being outdoors becomes academic, IMO. It's basically inside.
I use foam balls with my kids but love the idea of using a simulator and real balls. If you hit a wild shot off the toe of the clubface at a distance of say 10' from the screen, will the enclosure be likely to catch the ball, with the 5' deep walls?
I mean it would have to be a big big miss but anything is possible right? :) you can go to the 10x10x10 to fix that since it is 10ft deep. Thanks for watching 🍻
Taunt = a remark made in order to anger, wound, or provoke someone Taut = stretched or pulled tight; not slack. Sorry...yes, I am that guy. Otherwise, really good video with lots of great information.
Yeah making these in one take and uncut leaves me little room for error. That is not the first time I have misspoke (transitive verb. 1 : to speak (something, such as a word) incorrectly. ) in a video.
Thanks Patrick! Appreciate you watching! I figured this video would be extremely relevant to so many people showing how you can do your own build at a reasonable cost but literally by yourself.
Yes sir! Have to make sure you're listening! It is a funny habit of mine :) I told someone a while ago after hundreds of hours speaking into a camera maybe I am waiting for someone to talk back? Hahaha. Thanks for watching 🍻
I have a similar set up except the screen where I have a retractable screen 8X10 that hangs over my garage and can park a car under it. I did it under $5000 with skytrak.
I love the set up, I have a 18 x30 game room, I am just learn how to properly hit and correct form. I would like to have something like this just to practice. What would you recommend and cost!
Sure, I'll probably have to do it on Facebook to the RUclips community page. Won't be able to do it for a day or so but will get it done. Thanks for watching 🍻
Hi Jay! You've inspired me to build my own golf sim! Quick question - have you noticed any bar sagging/bending from hanging your projector off the front bar of the enclosure? I'd like to not have to mount my projector from the ceiling and love the way you did it, but wondering if the heaviness of the projector would wear down that bar.
Yes some sag for sure. It's definitely a more temporary type of set up or mobile use. I would for sure recommend doing a ceiling mount for a more permanent and better longevity set up
Yes there are tons of software apps available for the various launch monitors. I just showed a few here. You can see them all in the channel. Thanks for watching!
I like it a lot, but at the beginning you say "only took a hour to set up" ... then at the end let's see if I can get another good shot, I'm a little tired after spending all day setting this up😁
Well..... you trying carry all of that stuff, upacking, throwing away garbage, setting up cameras, various launch monitors, etc. It feels like 2 days LOL Setup, yes about an hour, the entire clean up video and everything hours. It is actually very easy to setup once unpacked etc. Thanks for watching!
Hi,Jay, this is indeed a great design. I have a few questions that I need your help to answer. First, do I need ribs on the top of the screen? I am worried about whether the middle position of the upper part of the screen falls due to the weight. Second, when using a 56-degree wedge, does the ball rebound severely after hitting the top of the screen? Will it bounce back to myself on the golfmet?
I am not sure what you mean by ribs, this is an all-in one package. Come with everything you need as you saw me assemble, no need for any modifications. I have tested all my clubs so far and the bounceback is very minimal as you can see here. Those were full blown 9 irons! :)
They level the turf to the hitting mat. For the money it's a nice clean look and if going Mevo+ you need the level surface for putting. Thanks for watching
great job, please understand that everyone always would like to know the cost....so when you are going over this info it is important to cover all items. you said that this build is about $2700.00, it would be nice to know the total cost on every thing that i see. launch moniter, the program cost, any monthly subscription cost, ect thanks jeff
The reason I did it that way is you can add the launch monitor of your choice. You could do R10 from $599, or even GCQuad for $15k. It leave it open for your budget. The 2 I show here Mevo+ and SkyTrak both are usually $1999. Mevo+ has had some sales at $1799.
Hey didn’t know if you still had this simulator or if your still using it? Would like to buy everything from you if you don’t use it! I’m new to golf but want to learn!
Love this. I’ve been hesitant to do any of this. You make it seem possible. I was going to do a shed in the backyard but I’m thinking my garage with your setup because it’ll be cheaper. Do you see this working with pulling my car in and out if I only need to lay the matt down each time? What problems do you foresee?
I do know a lot of people that just have it in the back and move the mat and pull their car in. Especially if you have a wider format you can even pull into the enclosure area if needed. Feel free to email me for details. a98cr125@gmail.com Thanks for watching!
You just can get an Apple lightning or USB-C dongle to HDMI very simple. It is all about if you have the space and proper setup for Mevo+. Watch my Which One You Should buy video. ruclips.net/video/q2rEGITy204/видео.html
Haha. I love tools and I have OCD LOL. Correct you just pick whatever Launch Mondor you would want to use and everything else I've shown here I got for just under $2700.
Could you post some videos of the impact screen playing TGC 2019? I have an older projector (BenQ MX819ST). Graphics are pretty good but wash out during ball flight or if background scenery is moving. Would like to see impact screen video of a few holes in full 1080p.
I will see what I can do. I switched to a desktop in the GSV studio so not as easy to just grab the laptop now. But, you should see the same image from iPad or PC as far as brightness goes. That is all on the projector and how dark the room is. It was pretty bright when I did this since I needed the area to be lit for recording, still a solid image from the Optoma 1080hdr. Thanks for watching.
Not really. Any good launch monitor measures the ball so will it show it and even somewhat close distance on short shots, sure but spin will be way off and distance would get worse and worse as you hit linger shots.
So if I buy the 10 x 10 10 what are the room dimensions need to hit driver? Also to play courses what is the best simulator to buy? Looks for fairly accurate speed and distance for all clubs. Putting not as important. Like integrated mats. Lovely setup. Thanks mike
Hi Michael, Thanks for watching and commenting. So it really depends on the user and the preferred setup. You can set things up slightly off centered and probably can get away with a room about 12' wide depending on the size of golfer and driver length is just where you want to always test the room size yourself with small slow swings etc. I have seen people fit sims in rooms just wide enough to fit an enclosure like this with a offset setup!
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I'm subscribe now... going thru your videos. I'm new to the world of simulators, looking to gather all the info I need. question: are they "very" accurate, or just ok? I'm thinking there a whole lot i don't know

1.5 playback speed makes this video so much more enjoyable!
Whatever works for you! Thanks for watching
I’ll be checking out the info you share on the complimentary items required to complete the package. Am I correct in thinking that you don’t sell the gear, that you are just trying g to help people out? Thank you
Cheers,
John
Nice. Correct I do not directly sell anything. I have partners that can extend everything from special prices to discount codes so just email me when you are ready and I can show you various options. Thanks for watching! 🍻 Jay
Beautiful, I am planning one. This will be a great help.
Great to hear. Thanks for watching 🍻
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Tried finding the $1599 enclosure in the link but couldn't see it? Is there another link?
Great video and review of a low budget practice golf simulator...Thanks....Earnest Sports makes some nice golf launch monitors that work with a I Pad....not sure about simulator projectors....
Thanks for watching. I have tested ES. Best value and data in this price point seems to be Mevo+ and SkyTrak From my testing.
I want this exact set up! With mevo+ great videos btw!
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
I need one of this asap
Yes you do! :)
Feel free to email me if you have questions. a98cr125@gmail.com
This seems like a very competitive offering, but I would recommend anyone out there on a serious budget to go the DIY route. I built my 10x10x5 enclosure myself for less than $700.
Breakdown:
11 x 1" EMT 10ft length(home depot) - 175$
1 x Enclosure fittings(Cimmaron) - 99$ (Can be had for close to 70 if you buy each individually)
1 x Impact projector screen 12x10 C-stock(gungho) - 167$
11 x 4'6" Commando Cloth (chicago canvas) - 153$
1 x Tarp Clips(amazon) - 15$
2 x Tube Clips(amazon)- 25$
1 x Ball Bungees(amazon) - 10$
Total: $644
I'm not that handy of a person and there are definitely areas where you could spend more or less than I did, but you can save yourself a whole lot of markup if you go this route.
@@Layne_M yeah I mean that is lowest price in the market I can find. Plus my discount code on top of that!
Hi Jay, can you show exactly how you mounted the projector to the frame?
Bolted it direct to the pipe. I suggest ceiling mounting if you can but this is an ok solution.
Great video man! I started looking into this and was terrified of the pricing. This gives me hope!
Thanks. Feel free to email me and I can send a list of links and packages that help save as well. Thanks for watching
Outstanding! Would you mind re-posting links for the components, namely the mat and enclosure, please? Thanks!
Shoot me an email I can provide all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
Tell the Skytrak people to allow Awesome golf! What’s the deal? Great video, as usual.
I can share that feedback 👍
Nice video! It looks like you are using an iPad. What model are you using? I want to make sure that I get one that works with Skytrak plus. Thanks! Hoping an iPad is less expensive than a laptop. Thanks!
Sorry I missed this. This is a iPad pro 11" from 2021.
This is awesome. I will email to pick your brain. This has been the best video and setup I have seen. What monitors are you using? Two different ones?
So the two systems the flight scope you need good distance behind you facing the screen and the skytrack tue system is by the ball? That is what I’m gathering. My kids are right hand I’m left.
Hey Jay, great video. Changed my entire direction on my enclosure. You mention that this setup cost 2700 with the simulator, but I am seeing the enclosure cost 2400 by itself. Can you suggest better links? I have a space with 9ft walls and 14 ft wide
That is pretty much what I am seeing as well
It’s $2,700 without Skytrak or Mevo
same.... his deal is not our deal or inflation made the price 2x since creation of video...... even after applying discount code. My price is 5K to get what he got. Not so cheap anymore so video title is misleading.
Yeah, I think he's purposely leaving out the cost of the Skytrak/Flightscope. This is really a $5,000 setup vs the $2,700 he's saying it is.
No screen and projector setup is going to work well outdoors. Use a net
@@imasspeons many do it. You really only need a roof in nice climates, I see it all the time.

Very informative and looks promising. I’d like to know if there is a video of using a driver. Thanks.
I will try to do a driver video soon. Thanks for watching.
That’s nice. Thanks.
Nice work.
Thanks Patrick! Appreciate you watching! I figured this video would be extremely relevant to so many people showing how you can do your own build at a reasonable cost but literally by yourself.
Brilliant! Big thanks for sharing this build.
Alright, alright, alright!
Yes sir! Have to make sure you're listening! It is a funny habit of mine :) I told someone a while ago after hundreds of hours speaking into a camera maybe I am waiting for someone to talk back? Hahaha. Thanks for watching 🍻
@@GolfSimulatorVideos lol you're welcome :)
Nice space! Shoot me an email and I can get you some options 👍

Thanks for the video! Can you post a picture of how you bolted the projector mount to the top bar of the frame?
Sure, I'll probably have to do it on Facebook to the RUclips community page. Won't be able to do it for a day or so but will get it done. Thanks for watching 🍻
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Did you post a picture of the projector mount? If so, can you provide a link? Thanks!
Can you please show a close up of how the projector mount attaches to the hitting bay pole? Thats what im having trouble with now.
I also have my own projector
I would for sure recommend doing a ceiling mount for a more permanent and better longevity set up
$2700 if you're wondering.
Thanks for all the tips Jay! Really appreciated 🏌️♂️⛳️
Thanks for watching 🍻
Great video! Are you able to get additional software for this setup to play courses?
Yes there are tons of software apps available for the various launch monitors. I just showed a few here. You can see them all in the channel. Thanks for watching!
What a great video, excellent job! I have e-mailed you for the information.
Awesome. Will reply ASAP. Thanks for watching
Thanks for this video!!! This setup is what I need for my house!!!
Thanks for watching
I like it a lot, but at the beginning you say "only took a hour to set up" ... then at the end let's see if I can get another good shot, I'm a little tired after spending all day setting this up😁
Well..... you trying carry all of that stuff, upacking, throwing away garbage, setting up cameras, various launch monitors, etc. It feels like 2 days LOL Setup, yes about an hour, the entire clean up video and everything hours. It is actually very easy to setup once unpacked etc. Thanks for watching!
Can you set the projector off center or to the side and use the keystone adjustment to re-center the picture?
Just depends if your projector has lens shift and/or other adjustments that allow for it. If it does, yes you can.
Can you play courses from around the world or is it just driving range stuff like you used
There is a lot of software available. Check out my other videos. Thousands of courses. Thanks for watching
Great video. I’ve seen that SkyTrack offers some of these as well but for the same price as everything you have minus the projector. Impressive!!!
My partner offers no tax, free shipping, and my discounts. So be sure to email me if you are interested. Thanks for watching. a98cr125@gmail.com
Any tips on mounting the skytrak screen - I’m struggling getting it up.
It’s was pretty straightforward for me. What is the issue?
How necessary are the gym tiles? What do they do? Thanks for the video. I bought the enclosure...love it
They level the turf to the hitting mat.
Hi Jay is there anyway to strengthen the screen so it doesn’t go through it.
Not sure what you mean? Shoot me an email to discuss. I have a lot of insight from this video to share. a98cr125@gmail.com
Great set up - would love to find out if you are able to offer a retractable enclosure???
Yes my partner has a nice one. Shoot me an email. a98cr125@gmail.com

Hey didn’t know if you still had this simulator or if your still using it? Would like to buy everything from you if you don’t use it! I’m new to golf but want to learn!
Why is this in The Bentist's SHORTS playlist? Lol.
He loves the video and we appreciate that! :)
Can you please provide some tips on the driving mat?
Rgrds
Hi Juan, not sure what you are asking. Feel free to email. Thanks for watching
Hey Jay!! Love your content man. Looks like the link to the putting turf is broken. Do you have an alternative?
I think they sold out. You can easily get really nice SynLawn from Lowe's now. A great choice. Thanks for watching!
One question Jay, how long does the screen last when you consistently hit the same spot....would be the downfall of being consistent lol!
It depends on ball speed etc but I’m sure if someone went crazy they could wear any screen out in a year but that’s why you can get replacements :)
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thx Jay Cheers!
How big is your garage? Wall height? Length? Width?
Thanks
Great video. what is the projector make and model?
In this video I used a optima 1080hdr
nice video,,how does the hdmi dongle work? and which do you prefer the mevo plus or skytrack,,,i have enough room for either,,ty-mike
You just can get an Apple lightning or USB-C dongle to HDMI very simple. It is all about if you have the space and proper setup for Mevo+. Watch my Which One You Should buy video.

Hi - thanks for the excellent video on DIY setup! Question - Did you have to remove your garage door opener (usually attached to the ceiling)?
No, but I have the side mounted style so only rails on the sides no center.
Heck with the simulator, I want to know about that tool chest setup 👍. Seriously, the mevo + is in addition to the $2700, right?
Haha. I love tools and I have OCD LOL. Correct you just pick whatever Launch Mondor you would want to use and everything else I've shown here I got for just under $2700.
I'm only seeing the enclosure as 2700 and then 2100 for the Mevo + - Is this correct?
Is it possible to use foam balls? Thinking about doing this at my office, but sound could be an issue.
Thank you for the video!
Not really. Any good launch monitor measures the ball so will it show it and even somewhat close distance on short shots, sure but spin will be way off and distance would get worse and worse as you hit linger shots.
How tall is your garage ceiling. I'd like to install one in my garage. How tall must the ceiling be? Thanks
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thank you so much. Mike

@@GolfSimulatorVideos I'm subscribe now... going thru your videos. I'm new to the world of simulators, looking to gather all the info I need. question: are they "very" accurate, or just ok? I'm thinking there a whole lot i don't know

Wrinkles in the screens really get my OCD. Any other screens you recommend?
There has been many upgrades since this. Email me a98cr125@gmail.com
How does this machine read the ball’s movement? Is there any sensor?
I demonstrated two here. One is radar / camera and the other is camera.
so it looks like theres a dimple forming in the center of the screen from centered ball impacts?? have you broken through yet?? any fixes? is the screen under warranty against impact holes?
That happens with any screen if you are hitting the same spot. Most screens being used a lot need to be replaced every few years. I have some updates to this. Shoot me an email and I can provide you with all the details. a98cr125@gmail.com
I have attic access directly above where I would like to put this enclosure. Can a couple of people move it easily once it's fully assembled? Thanks and great video!
Yes we moved it around my garage before disassembling. It was pretty easy I even slid it around by myself a few times.
