All of my Ray Ban aviators come with glass lenses, and the back side of the lense has an AR coating.
I love it.
AR is a MUST! 🔥
Do y'all plan on putting a video out on the Wiley X Tobi sunglasses? Reviews on them are practically nonexistent.
I wish videos like these give us comparisons through lenses. In theory something might look useful, but in practice not so much.
Spot on 100%. It's a great concept, but tough in practice because a camera lens still falls short of the human eye in its ability to depict the benefits of some lens coatings. People with sensitivity to bright light & reflection who, as a result, regularly experience eyestrain will notice the difference with an applied AR coating.
I have non AR sunglasses that has UV protection but it bothers me a lot the reflection on the sides of the glasses while I’m carrying sunglasses on. Sometimes i can see the reflection of my eyes on the lenses. This depends on the light brightness and angle. My question is : is there any possibility in turning the lenses into AR lenses or sth ?! I don’t know that much about this
Hi Jorgo! Sadly, AR coating is not something that can be applied to an existing set of lenses. AR treatments are just one step in the lens manufacturing process but is a crucial component for those who are light sensitive and/or cognizant of reflections on the backside of a sunglass lens. A full wraparound frame will help combat this problem OR before puchasing a sunglass, try them on before hand in an effort to identify possible lacking of a backside AR coating or ask the manufacturer for more information.
Thanks a lot for the reply and advices.
they put AR on front and back of my sunglasses...
That’s why i ordered them with no AR at all. I knew that if i selected AR they would pull a stunt like that
yeah ... so did my vendor who carged $450 for lenses alone. WTF?
One year and no SportRx replies?
The real? …sport Rx wants to sell backside AR. With that said think about where you’ll be wearing your sunglasses. Full sun on the water? Go for it. In the car all the time with a roof over your head? 50/50. Bottomline is all of us have worn sunglasses without AR for YEARS and survived just fine. It’s a great premium feature but don’t act like if you don’t have it you’re life is over and your sunglasses are garbage.
That’s what this video should have said. : )
