    Just a FYI, I did a sublimation directly on a bamboo laminated cutting board by sanding the factory finish off and applying directly to the wood, then applying a sealant afterward. The ink penetrated very nicely. I have an Epson ET2803, started new with Hiipoo Sublimation ink (they sell it with the correct fittings to fill the ET tanks), A-sub paper and a Vevor 5-in-1 heat press. No prep coating was used.

    love this idea. can you paint the wood first then add the primer?

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  Год назад +3

      Yes you can! It is possible to paint wood and then apply a sublimation coating on top, but the results may vary depending on the type of paint and coating used.
      It is essential to use a paint that can withstand high temperatures, as the sublimation process typically involves heating the substrate to high temperatures (around 400F). Additionally, the paint should be completely dry and cured before applying the sublimation coating, as any moisture or solvents in the paint can affect the adhesion and curing of the coating. - Agata

    • @DesignBundles

      Hi John. Hairspray may be used as a temporary fixative for sublimation inks, but it is not specifically designed for that purpose and may not provide consistent or long-lasting results.
