Not trying to be rude but, what do you mean "they shouldnt be hanging around taxiways". Its called an air taxi. Helicopters do this all the time right?
SnipeYouFromMars Despite some of the replies to your comment, you are correct. Depending on the airfield, some authorities actually enforce the use of taxiways, whether fixed or rotor-wing.
+Ervin Underdown Very true. Incidentally, that Cessna seemed awfully fast on the taxiway, probably came out of nowhere into the the helo pilot's view and might explain his very sudden yank. I once had a good laugh when ground control asked a speeding Cessna on the taxiway: "Umm, november xyz... you're taking off right here and now?! Care to do it from the active runway instead?"
+Gangrene Vagina What video where you watching? He had the word "noob" in once what i could see, how is that overuseing a word? misuse well maybe but i would not say it was.
That stuff is instinct man. I did it on a riding lawn mover that was almost tipping over going across a sidehill. My body reacted before my brain said "hey thats stupid!" Thankfully I've still got both legs.
First clip: it's called an Air taxi, as some airports do not allow helicopters to take off from just anywhere. They must use the runway as the takeoff area
+biskitz86913 And they are right. Civil aviation has got to be the most safe way to travel. Statistically speaking, the most dangerous part of a flight, is the commute to the airport. You're watching a compilation of some mishaps (some due to pilot error, others because of weather) yet more often than not, the pilot brings these events to a good end. There are sketchy airlines however (asian ones are the ones I trust least). Then still, it is safe as fuck. Remember there are THOUSANDS of planes departing every day all around the world carrying millions of passengers and they all go well with verrrrrry few exceptions. It's just that "200 people die in plane crash" makes a better headline than "another car accident like yesterday"
Tracomaster Yes I am constantly told this by everyone lol but I tell them statistics never tell a whole story. The statistics you refer to are done by crashes compared to journeys, so its more likely a car will crash on a journey than a plane. The ones I have in mind are surviour to crash ratio based. I have been in 2 car crashes as a passenger and an incident as a driver where I had to swerve off the road to avoid the car in front (that was on an A road too!), I sustained no injuries in any of the incidents. So, while I am fully aware that I am more likely to crash in a car, I fear crahing in a plane much more. You see? Its perspective I guess
Tracomaster I have flown quite a few times, more often when I was a teenager to be honest, didn't mind it so much then, quite enjoyed it actually. I try to avoid it but still choke at the price of train tickets. I live in Edinburgh and have family in London so flying is usually cheaper and a lot quicker. I just man up lol it only takes an hour. I fly because I know you are right, it is as safe as transport comes. But my god it just doesn't feel right to be 24,000 (or more) feet up. The TU-144's were not scrapped "...partially because of design and structural issues"; they were scrapped because they drank so much juice, they were unprofitable. They were faster than Concorde, but had to be flown with their engines on Full Re-heat for the entire flight. (Concorde generally needed Full Re-heat for take-off only). Also, the air-conditioning system used to cool the TU-144's outer fuselage skin produced so much noise, passengers had to shout to have a conversation. Of the seventeen TU-144's built, several carried mail for the State. I may be wrong, but I was sure the TU-144 shown here was being tested by American pilots earlier this century (after Concorde had ceased flying).
Stewi1014 It was mainly a technical problem. After the airplane touched the ground at 12:52 the board computer switched into "ground mode", which automatially restricted the pilot's control over the ailerons. Without that, the airplane woudn't have swirled off to the left and it would have been a save landing. This wasn't mentioned in the pilot's manual, so the pilots had no idea that this would happen. Also the pilot's manual wasn't clear about the maximum crosswinds for landings. According to Airbus it is 38 knots (70 km/h / 44 mph), the crosswinds on that day were 47 knots (90 km/h /54 mph). Airbus updated the pilot's manual after this incident.
Who do you think you are? Calling people “noob youtubers” or “noob tourists”. All these clips came from a single video posted a long time ago, maybe even in the same order. Some comments you made in between clips are inaccurate or just straight up wrong. Honestly, if you are immature and untalented enough to only post unoriginal content and call other youtubers “noobs”, you shouldn’t even be posting here.
На Ту-144 это не ошибки пилотов, а испытания, поэтому и истребитель рядом летит снимает и операторы на полосе стоят, уж такие элементарные вещи можно увидеть было?
Liche Christ Ahaha, no, simply i wrote it in my native russian language :))) I mean Tu-144 - it was a test flight, not a pilot mistake. Look at camera operators at a runway and a plane flying nearby.
I can tell you from 1st hand experience about the LAST clip of the Tanker Refueling because I was Air Force Aircrew and participated in many such mid-refueling. ALL AIRCREWS...I repeat...ALL AIRCREWS...train for EMERGENCY BREAK AWAY PROCEDURES !! That is what you saw in that clip. If for ANY reason ANY Crew member involved in the OP finds / sees an EMERGENCY....they shall declare BREAK AWAY BREAK AWAY BREAK AWAY !! The Refueling Aircraft WILL do an EMERGENCY disconnect and that aircraft WILL perform an EMERGENCY ASCENT !!! The Aircraft receiving fuel WILL DECLARE...BREAK AWAY also...AND...simultaneously do an EMERGENCY DESCENT !! Only after both aircraft have pulled away and gone thru EMERGENCY CHECKLISTS and regrouped themselves to find out what the problem was and CLEARED THE PROBLEM...may they continue if they feel it is safe. Refuelings are dangerous and bumpy because of the proximity of the aircraft to each other, and for the reason ALL personnel on both aircraft MUST BE seated and buckled in !! It is quite hair raising when out of nowhere that EMERGENCY BREAK AWAY is called and the planes fly apart !!!!!!!!!!!
near (close) and it was a miss. near and nearly are two different words. as for near hit... yeah I near hit that guy, he was well within arms reach when I decked him.
I believe the logic is that it nearly hit, but it missed instead. So a near miss. The miss was very near. For all we know it was some language developed by an airline PR department after a near hit incident and they used positive language to try and create a different spin.
Heh youtube arguments aren't about facts usually. Technical answers defeat the prerequisite emotional cloud that hangs over the standard commenter's sense of restraint. But I applaud your attitude.
This person who made the commentary for this video clearly does not have any clue what is going on in nearly any of them. By the way, that was an Airbus in the crosswind, not a 737, and that BAC 146 isn't even worth 15,000,000 British pounds. There is no "right of way" at an airport, only what ground/ATC tells you to do. The A340 was most likely an RTO, just because the First officer calls out V1 does not mean they are going to take off, he is simply calling out a speed. 'Sigh' chain link fence kissers... SMH
Typical response from someone who is not sure of what to actually write, but simply has to make some kind of remark. If you want to discuss aviation , fine. If you want throw mud, seek else where cause your remark only made yourself look stupid, not me. Take care.
For everyone complaining about the thumbnail. The Air New Zealand is taking off while the Qantas is landing on the parallel runway over 1KM away. It is at Sydney Airport. Relax, it's completely normal. Just looks close
+Wordsmith Gobshite pfft!! seatbelts! only weiners wear seatbelts. when the the pilot asked me to put mine on, i looked him straight in the eye and said "flip off". so yeah i guess you could say i live life a quarter mile at a time.
Patrick. T Jones lol, sounds like we were cast from the same mould. I recently drank tomato straight from the can and you and I know how sharp those edges can be.
I will give credit for not posting a video titled "Stupid Pilot" containing a well executed crosswind landing with a 747 etc. Speaking of crosswinds. That 320 one looked like a failed crosswind, he/she should have waved off and gone around instead of continuing to land.

If the pilot in the A-320 didn't get a raise after that heroic save, there is absolutely no justice, equality, or fairness in the airline industry.
Irma Darley p.s.: His handling of the yaw alone was worthy of promoting him to a top-notch trainer or other executive position.

BrosefFTW21 more like noobtubers
umm... audience definitely has a valid opinion if you wanna get anywhere with your channel, easy there killer
Y don’t u just give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism instead?
he says noob youtubers but his thumbnail is clearly fake

Nice video!
Just saying the St. Maartin landing was by a KLM 747 not Air France. Other than that great video.
he mentions the accident as being with an Air France 747...this footage show the fence being broken. But indeed it was of a KLM 747.
He did NOT say the plane in the video was Air France. Also, the plane in this video did NOT strike the fence.
ut000bs yeah but Air France has never had one of there 747's land at St. Maartin. I think...
ut000bs gffhxvc
***** St Maarten is half french, half dutch. Until a short while ago both KLM and Air France flew there, now I think its AF only

Matt Schneider Part of the RTO test. Aircraft are to be untouched for 5 minutes in order to pass.
На Ту-144 это не ошибки пилотов, а испытания, поэтому и истребитель рядом летит снимает и операторы на полосе стоят, уж такие элементарные вещи можно увидеть было?
Fugh
Multi- Some of your letters are backwards and upside -down. did you buy that keyboard from a guy in a white van?
Liche Christ Ahaha, no, simply i wrote it in my native russian language :))) I mean Tu-144 - it was a test flight, not a pilot mistake. Look at camera operators at a runway and a plane flying nearby.

Your sense of humor and accommodating nature are refreshing. Kudos.

It is quite hair raising when out of nowhere that EMERGENCY BREAK AWAY is called and the planes fly apart !!!!!!!!!!!
sheeeit...that AWACs driver almost lost it in the last clip...

There are riders drivers and pilots learn the difference
Or aviators
The landingtrack when the large 747ish planes land is just insane. A road and a beach.

How many times does anyone have to call for the stairs? Are they speaking to deaf people?
Also what was on fire under the aircraft? was it the tires?
In that situation you wouldn't bring stairs to an aircraft. The flight crew would evacuate through the emergency ropes.
merci vraiment je gane bcp d'information sur le décollage et l'itternissage
it is a fuckin near HIT!!!! who the hell thought of the prase near MISS?????
Is that you George Carlin?
I LOVE YOU HAMBUGAH
*BOOM* "They nearly missed".
It's when you almost miss, but crash and die anyways. :)
near (close) and it was a miss. near and nearly are two different words. as for near hit... yeah I near hit that guy, he was well within arms reach when I decked him.

What the fuck is a 'Near Miss!?' Shouldn't it be a near HIT! Nearly missing is a hit isn't it. The plane nearly hit but luckily it missed.
Comparing to that standup comedian, didnt sound funny as it was, but near miss means almost hit.
I believe the logic is that it nearly hit, but it missed instead. So a near miss. The miss was very near.
For all we know it was some language developed by an airline PR department after a near hit incident and they used positive language to try and create a different spin.
iamihop Idiom? Adverb? As? On youtube?
Good luck with the rabble.
Heh youtube arguments aren't about facts usually. Technical answers defeat the prerequisite emotional cloud that hangs over the standard commenter's sense of restraint.
But I applaud your attitude.
I don't sink so low. I prefer to engage in discourse. Fiery, rage inducing discourse.
:P
This person who made the commentary for this video clearly does not have any clue what is going on in nearly any of them. By the way, that was an Airbus in the crosswind, not a 737, and that BAC 146 isn't even worth 15,000,000 British pounds. There is no "right of way" at an airport, only what ground/ATC tells you to do. The A340 was most likely an RTO, just because the First officer calls out V1 does not mean they are going to take off, he is simply calling out a speed. 'Sigh' chain link fence kissers... SMH

I cannot believe people expect the clip from the poster of the video
Now why would anybody expect that, like gosh!!!
It's called thumbnail
Do your homework to have your facts straight before posting video's like this.
Typical response from someone who is not sure of what to actually write, but simply has to make some kind of remark. If you want to discuss aviation , fine. If you want throw mud, seek else where cause your remark only made yourself look stupid, not me. Take care.
Fix your grammar ...

For everyone complaining about the thumbnail. The Air New Zealand is taking off while the Qantas is landing on the parallel runway over 1KM away. It is at Sydney Airport. Relax, it's completely normal. Just looks close
It should be called near hit...
No it shouldn't

Has anybody in this thread ever died in a plane crash?
i hold a local record of twenteen times!
Patrick. T Jones Damn, that's pretty good going.
Patrick. T Jones And you wouldn't even got that burn if you'd worn your seat belt.

9:05 "It's not an important fire" LOL,
I will give credit for not posting a video titled "Stupid Pilot" containing a well executed crosswind landing with a 747 etc. Speaking of crosswinds. That 320 one looked like a failed crosswind, he/she should have waved off and gone around instead of continuing to land.
I genuinely find this so interesting
