- Description Make them as mild or spicy as you like. They are not dry or crumbly. You'll love this version of sausage balls. There's a dip to go along with it if you choose to make it (I didn't) but I've included it with the recipe. Enjoy!
Cream Cheese Sausage Balls with Creamy Mustard Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
1 lb. SAUSAGE, uncooked (you can use regular or hot)
8 oz. CREAM CHEESE, softened-- (mix 4 oz. in mixture 1st and bake 2 or 3 of them to decide if you need the entire 8 oz.. of the cream cheese. Mine were greasier than I would have liked)

I love your videos! Listening to you reminds me of my mom teaching me to cook when I was younger. She has passed away, so it brings a smile to my face watching you and remembering her! Thank you for your videos.
+Connie Robinson Connie, I'm so flattered I remind you of your Mom. My mom has passed away also. She loved Christmas and decorated to the hilt. When she came to live with me in her 80's, she decorated the same in my house. This is the time of year I miss her the most. I'm glad I can bring some comfort to you. Thank you for such a sweet and wonderful compliment. Linda
I make them year round, not just holidays. Yummm
These turned out great!. Most sausage balls are dry. Not these. Love your recipes and tips!
I love that you put the ingredients for recipe, that way I don't have to go to another page for the ingredients
Made them with mild turkey sausage and they are great. Easier to handle once mix was cold after being in frig. Keep ideas coming.
+Virginia J Franklin Hi Virginia, I loved the taste of these but they were greasy and why I suggest using only 4 oz. of the cream cheese and test bake a few. Using turkey is a great idea. I will try that next time. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I made mine with a hush puppy premix instead of bisquick or pancake mix
How did they taste made from hush puppy mix??
Amazeballs!!
Sweet onion hushpuppy mix I found at Walmart added umami flavor
Hi Linda. Have missed you. I hope to make these. Do you use breakfast or Italian sausage to make these? Thank you.
Grandma Sue in central Indiana

Great video
OMG What a great twist on this recipe. Adding the cream cheese is everything. Thank you soooo much! Merry Christmas!
I love the sausage balls recipe.
I use a little Bisquick in mine, but I am definitely going to be subbing some cream cheese in for some of the shredded cheese and see how it goes.
I'm going to try making some of these. Tfs.
+debora mitchell Hi Debora, you won't have a bit of trouble making these. I hope you do try them and like them as much as we do. Thank you for watching and commenting!
happy holidays ms.linda,an family love your cookin video's thank you!
Thank you Tammy! When you make these, cut back some on the cream cheese. I found when following the recipe that it was too much. Joyous and prosperous holidays to you and your family! TFW God Bless, Linda
I made sausage balls with deer sausage. Knowing deer sausage isn't as greasy as pork sausage, I added 4 oz. of cream cheese for moisture. Best. Sausage Balls. Ever. Loved that grease was almost non existent yet the sausage balls were moist & had great flavor.
yummy !!
+diamondb11 Hi iamondb11 I think you'll enjoy this version of sausage balls and they're great for company and the holiday season. Thank you for watching and commenting.
+Hands That Cook Thank you I made them for thanksgiving and everyone loved them and they made a request for me to make them for CHRISTMAS !!
+diamondb11 I loved them too and I'm so glad your family enjoyed them. Now you have a go-to recipe that everyone likes! Thank you for watching and commenting (you may have to double or triple this recipe for a big crowd that loves them, LOL!)
Hmmm. Nice little twist. After years of sausage balls at holidays, think I might give this a try for something a little different.

Yum those look fantastic Linda, great idea for an appetiser xx
+FitAnge S These were very good but of course, fattening!! I really enjoyed the taste but can't eat them often without "guilt" LOL! Thanks Ange for watching and taking the time to comment.
Hi Linda!! I have always bought the pre-made sausage balls from Walmart during the holidays, but they are a little pricey and my crew really sucks them down so I have to buy several bags. I made these once before, but the recipe I used turned out very dry like you mentioned. I was wondering if you can actually taste the cream cheese in this recipe? My fiance cannot stand cream cheese and if he sees it or tastes it he won't touch it. I know ....silly right? But, it is what it is so I have to be sneaky about these things...lol. He has eaten WAAAY more cream cheese than he will ever know about!! Thanks again for another great recipe!! Take care...Tina
TFS
When serving,I put a few of those long toothpick or bamboo skewers out also. Keeps things cleaner.
Linda, these are one of my favorites! Make them every Holiday season. Thanks for sharing. Have a great afternoon. ~Lynn
+lynnsrecipes Hi Lynn, thank you for popping in! Are these on your channel? I'm going to go look for them! The sun should be out tomorrow. What a great change from this last week here! Have a good week Lynn and thank you for taking the time to comment and watch. Linda
I do have a version on my channel. I don't use the cream cheese, but do use hot sausage. We like our food with some spice. I am tired of the gloomy weather. Hope the sun comes out soon. Take care, Lynn
Hey Linda. I made these recently and we love them. They are not as dry as other recipes I've made. I also use my stand mixer because it is so much easier. Hugs from Alabama.
+Tammy Butler Hey Tammy! We Alabamians think alike. Was your recipe exactly like this one? I'd fix them more often if they weren't so fattening!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes it was pretty much the same. I love them so much and so does my husband and teenagers so when I make them I have to triple the recipe. We try to save them for special occasions for instance we always have these on Christmas morning. I'm from Tuscaloosa. Where are you from again?
+Tammy Butler Tuscaloosa!! What a great place to be from. I LOVE my Alabama football.I can't imagine tripling this recipe. That's a whole lotta sausage balls but they're so good they go fast. I'm from Anniston. It's small but has everything anyone needs. I like the small town friendliness, except race weekends twice a year. This town is emptied out of everything...groceries as well. They wipe us out and the town itself is busier than a bunch of mad hornets. Traffic is bumper to bumper and a good many of them drunk. Those pulling their campers often come a week before the race OR stay a week afterwards...it's a mad house!
I can't believe we live so close. I just knew you were a good southern lady. We are sisters in our love for Alabama football. ROLL TIDE!. I hope we do well against LSU this weekend. I can relate to the crazy people in town every game day Saturday. If we are not going to the game we usually get out of town and escape to our cabin on the river. I still have teenagers at home so life is crazy. Love your recipes and I watch you faithfully. I love to cook. It is my way to relax if I ever find myself at home alone, its even better.
Wow!! I've never had anything like this. I will be making it spicy, using hot Italian sausage. I use my mixer for meatloaf, because I like the texture afterwards. Gosh, Linda, these will make a appetizer. 😀
+Julia Dickson Hi Julia, these really were tasty. I know your family or company will enjoy them. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
Hi Linda. New fan here! Sounds great I'm going to make it this evening. I ain't waiting for the holidays!
Hi Tony and Welcome!! I don't know if I said anything on the video but I'd use half of the cream cheese called for. You'll love these cream cheese sausage balls! I know you'll find some of my other recipes easy and delicious so take your time and browse a bit! TFW God Bless, Linda
@@Handsthatcook yes ma'am you mentioned using 4 ounces instead of 8 ounces.
These look beautiful! Yum! great for a pot luck dinner or an appetizer. I've gone off Facebook for a few days as I've got an assignment to write for my master's degree. I'm easily distracted 😄 Hope you are keeping well my friend. All my best wishes, Allan :)
+Allan Kent-Fisher Hey Allan, don't work too hard my friend, I've heard it will cause you to lose hair!! LOL!! I hope you'll try these when you get off your diet. I know you'll like them. Take care!!
+Hands That Cook cheeky 😄😄 LOL
Why no flour or bisquick
The recipe calls for 1 & 1/4 cup of bisquick...
8oz. of cream cheese or 4 oz.?? Which tastes best..
Hi Renee, 4 oz. is the best. 8 oz was a little greasy to me, but you can try it. TFW God bless!
@@Handsthatcook
Okay Thank You! 😋 Yum!
@Hands That Cook
Happy New Year & God Bless♥️
@@renee8545 Happy New Year to you too! TFW God bless
Caution ….she failed to mention the 1and 1/4. Cup of bisquick…..it’s in the printed recipe , on the notes ..
Anything I failed to mention will always be in the printed recipe. So sorry about that. TFW God bless.
Cheese in sauerkraut balls , never heard of it . I'm sure it's a tasty appetizer anyway.
Gayle, This is sausage not sauerkraut...I've never heard of sauerkraut with cheese either. Did you watch the video or just misread the title??
Hands That Cook Good grief...you're right ROTFL, I searched recipes for sauerkraut balls 😀😀😀
However I did say it looks like a good appetizer anyway!
Hands That Cook I wasn't thrown by the sausage because many use sausage in their recipe
Oh, I wasn't aware of that....good to know!! TFW
LOL....the search doesn't always give you what you ask for (obviously!) TFW God Bless, Linda
I'm confused. Are you supposed to use that amount of Bisquick or not?
Hi Susan, yes, use all the bisquick. TFW God Bless
The recipe calls for (and the full recipe is printed in the SHOW MORE section)..use that amount of bisquick...the cream cheese added was 8 oz. next time I'll use 4 oz...just my opinion, you use what you want. God Bless!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
So good lorraine but a little too much cream cheese for my taste. TFW God Bless, Linda
OMG I need a Xanax after watching this video.
Well Tim, I hate to hear that...go take your Xanax. God Bless, Linda
I've never had them with cream cheese in them. I am looking forward to making these and trying them. I love the old recipes but I'm like you I think this might be better. Thank you for the recipe. I liked it but I'm already a subscriber so I couldn't resubscribed LOL I know this is a old video but it popped up on my screen and I'm glad it did. God bless you
Thank you Kathy!! God Bless, Linda
Linda, why didn’t you use a cup of Bisquick?
The recipe was made as stated. It didn't call for bisquick. TFW God Bless, Linda
They were way to greasy I'm going to cook n drain my sausage then mix everything n bake
You forgot the biscuit mix. You use the same amount of biscuit mix that you use in regular sausage ball recipes.
+wtb61 I did add the biscuit mix but it was off camera. You can tell the difference in color after I put them on the baking sheet. This particular recipe called for only 1-1/4 cups of the Bisquick, and I followed the recipe. I still believe 8 oz of cream cheese is too much for this recipe. Thanks for watching....and you're very observant!!
Ok, so the Bisquick was used?
