My dad is an Eagles fan so thought about making this for his party. My dad perked up at the suggestion so I went with it. I used about 1 1/2 pounds of steak. I used a combo of green bell peppers and the little red peppers from the deviled ham video. I left the cheese amounts the same. We ate it on crackers and tortilla chips and didn't bother with a spoon or knife. Dipping worked just fine. It was a hit!

For anyone who, like me, has long known that food can sense fear, and yet has never been able to do anything about it, Chef John is a hero. He is the one who made it possible for me to step up to the plate and cook actual food in the 30 minutes I have between work and homework, as opposed to my previous go-to, which was fish sticks and frozen pizza. His commanding sing-song lullaby voice is the voice of freedom and a portal into a world of wonders. I would nominate him for a Nobel peace prize if I could and I am damn well going to vote him in as prime minister if he ever moves north. Thank you Chef John.

I used to love cooking but since my health is what it is, I lost the will to do even that. I've been depressed more or less for years, but know I have something I want to do, and I feel more alive. So thank you for saving me.

I'm binge watching your videos while extremely ill, recovering from surgery, and even though I watched most of them already, they are still so great to see again. One thing though; Worcester = Wooster, Worcestershire = Wooster-shire. For the sauce saying just Worcester (Wooster) without the shire is completely fine. Most people in Europe just call it Worcester (Wooster) sauce.

Just made this tonight for my mom’s “Dip-Off” at work tomorrow and I was so sad none of it was for us. Haha. But we did have some left over, heated it up, and had it with some small baguette slices as Chef John did and this was absolutely wonderful! For the people that suggest American cheese is the only way to go, I do agree, but I feel like the creaminess of the cream cheese and the nice twangy bite of the provolone make for something that’s an equivalent of an elevated American cheese and that’s really what pulls it all together. We made a double batch for her work so I’m so excited to see what people think. I love the dips Chef John brings to light in his videos because I would have never thought to look something like this up. I get it, it’s not the most lavish dish that someone can or would look up, but we made it as it was and didn’t change anything other than we didn’t add jalapeños to it because we just forgot to get them, but it was still great without it and with the other variety of peppers that were put in it! I definitely recommend using a good quality provolone so you do get that classic provolone flavor in your bite. I also do recommend allowing it to cool before scorching the roof of tour mouth as it was brought directly from the oven. And if you’re wondering if this tastes like a Philly cheesesteak, it absolutely does. It tastes like the very best parts of a cheesesteak which is the creaminess of the cheese and the mixture of peppers and onions with that melt in your mouth steak...so basically everything. xD And then a sliced baguette, of course you have a full on, mobile, finger cheesesteak! My provolone did have a lot of oil that surfaced. So maybe I didn’t use a quality provolone. But the flavor of it was there and that’s what made it good to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We’re hoping this is the winning dip! Stayyy tuuuned! Hahah. :D

I made this today for my daughter's Halloween party . I did put it all into one normal casserole dish. I should have taken a picture. It looked beautiful. Taste was great. It was all gone. Now come the however. However, There is a lot of chopping to do. If you in a rush, chop up the peppers and onions the days before. I have a small kitchen and my wife was also cooking a lot of food. Try the clam chowder dip by Chef John. Easy than this recipe and was outstanding.

For anything with diced peppers I like to use red Fresno peppers instead of jalapeno peppers. They are about the same heat, though Fresnos might average out just a bit more mild, and the Fresno peppers have a wonderful citrus/floral undertone. Add a little lime juice if you want a citrus/floral overtone.

I am a bit of a 'dump' cook as is he, "a pinch of this, a glob of that"...just by watching once or twice, I know how to make these oh so saliva gushing recipes. So much from one video can also be used for other cooking of other foods/dishes and the tips in each one are stuff I've never heard and I worked as a cook! In restaurants...all capacities. His choice of pans, well, his tools are perfect! We are stuff out in the boonies and often have to cook on our wood stove, bake in a smoker...Perhaps Mr. Cook John could do videos of outdoor/camping cooking? Love your voice and your inane quips!! Love the one scene or rather that the camera doesn't travel around the kitchen style you do. Each video is the perfect length so there is never any boredom. And as soon as me or my hubby is asking , "...but but but...WHY", grins you have the answer, like you could hear us!
