@@extremewebdesigns I can't extend the volume...
You need to have free space to the immediate right side of the drive that you wish to extend.
I have a 4TB Seagate Baracuda HD In a PC I just built and it appears partitioned one with 2047 GB that i just now made active and the other partition to the right of it that has 1678 GB Unallocated. The Unallocated partition i can't right click anything to get any option as its grayed out and no option. I am unsure how i can get this all back to just 1 4TB Partition. As i can't right click on the active partition to extend and i can't right click on the right partion to get any option. Its a new drive with nothing on it yet. But don't know why its appearing partitioned and cant seem to rejoin into one. Need help with this.
*_The Extend Volume doesn't seem to be available in my case. It is there but cannot be selected._*
I did that you tell but when i delete other partitions then i right click on c drive to extend the space and extend volume is not useable.
What's problem? Please tell.
After deleting my partition when I am hitting right click on C drive it's extend volume button fade in drop down list and I can use that option. SO my question is "what is substitute for this"?
I'm looking to install an SSD into PC however just wondering would you suggest just removing the windows partition from the HDD once it's on the SSD or completely reformatting the HDD and just importing the important files back onto the HDD from backup hardware?
If you want to run it on SSD and make it your default drive/hardware, then I suggest removing windows altogether from HDD and install a fresh copy of Windows on your SSD. I don't suggest you to have two windows installations (one on SSD and the other on HDD) because when you boot the device, it will stop and ask you to manually pick which version of Windows you want to boot into. This manual choosing of the relevant Windows version will simply start annoying you in the future.
So I suggest you to take backup of all the important files in backup hardware, format your HDD and install fresh Windows in SSD and copy the important files from the backup hardware to your SSD/HDD, as you see fit. Hope this helps.
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the upload.

Thank you so much for a nice information. Actually, I'm Mac user and I didn't know much about PC. So, it's really helpful for me to delete multiple partitions into one partition. Great!

hey i use my other partition D drive as the running os and the c drive is allocated why i can't use the extend volume on D drive?
You need to have free space to the immediate right side of the drive that you wish to extend. If not, you won't be able to see the option.
Hello, so I found a random video on youtube on how to create a disk with a partition with 1 TB. I noticed it was a file in my drive C, I tried deleting it but it keeps saying its open in the system. I deleted all the volume in it via the disk manager like the one in the video but it didn't fully delete. I went to the file location its on on the C drive and it was still there. Is there a way to COMPLETLEY remove it, since it's taking space away from my C drive. I tried your video, but it is in disk 1, and I tried to extend it but it was grayed out. Any ideas?
Is it a paging file? If yes, the standard delete procedure might not work. Look up how to delete the paging file in Windows ( assuming it is a paging file ).
@@extremewebdesigns its ok, I deleted it, I found it on the Size;gigantic search.
Alright, enjoy 👍
thank you very much
You are welcome 😊
I don't know why there is a dislike I mean it really helped a lot in relation to the title itself. This is an excellent and good video until now. I always come to this video whenever I forgot how to delete partition sometimes haha.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Because for some it doesn't work and for me too. it says "Windows cannot delete the active System partition drive"
@@techguy3309 I hear you. But is it necessary to put thumbs down instead asking in the comment?

Hi, dunno if you will still reply but im having issues with the extend drive being greyed out.
I bought my laptop it already had a D drive on it with alot of space. I deleted the partion but cant add it to my C drive cause of it being greyed out. Looked everywhere and they keep telling me to download a partition app which im hoping not to.
Any help would be appreciated.. thanks
Hi, can you share a screenshot of the issue??
extremewebdesigns yes i could send it after this weekend. What would be the best way to send it to you? Thank you for the response. 👍
You can upload it to a free screenshot sharing service and share the URL with me. I can review that and get back to you.
imgur.com/gallery/PkCpQEA
Its uploaded. Basically I would like to add unallocated 931.50 GB to my C Drive. Extend Volume is greyed out.
Let me know if you need anything else. Again, Thank you for your time.
Hi, thanks for the screenshot, it helped in understanding. From what I see, the empty space is NOT to the immediate right of C drive and hence you are unable to merge it with C drive. Also that space appears separately and not alongside of the other partitions. So something else is going on here.
To understand what the issue could be, could you please open My Computer and take a screenshot of that and share it with me? This is to check all the Devices and Drives that are available.
Thank you very much
You are welcome bro 😊

They are your system partitions and meant to be left as they are.

Hi, I’ve tried to extend the c drive, but the button is disabled. Can you please tell me on to extend in this scenario?
You need to have unallocated space to the immediate right side of the C drive. You will typically get this free space, once you delete the D Drive.
thanks
when i right click the C drive the expand volume is not highlighted i cant click the expand volume please help.
Hi, I already responded to you on Facebook, but I am gonna do it again. Here is what I sent you:
First, what is it that you are trying to achieve? Are you trying to split the C drive into multiple drives? Or are you trying to merge C drive with another drive?
1. If former, then you have to choose the "Shrink Volume..." option. You may watch this video to do so: bit.ly/2nHt5my
2. If later, then it makes sense that the "Expand Volume..." option is disabled. Because in order to expand a volume, you need to have “unallocated disk space” to the right of the partition that you wish to expand. It appears that you have not any unallocated disk space to the right of the C drive & hence, the option is disabled.
Expand Volume is to be used only if you are falling short of the space of the current drive and you would like to add more space to it, assuming you already have unallocated space to the right of it.
Hope that helps!
i want to move my E drive memory to my C drive memory, how i can do that?
Is E drive located immediately to the right of C drive? If yes, then Delete E drive (as shown in the video above) and then use Extend Volume option of C drive to do the merge. If you have any other drive(s) between C & E, then you won't be able to directly merge space of E with C. You will be able to merge E only with D, assuming D & E are adjacent to each other and E appears to the right of D.
In case you do have a D drive between C & E drives, then the only other option, without using third-party software is to delete both D and E drives first. This will create unallocated space immediately to the right of C drive. You can then extend C drive as much memory as you like. Once you are done with that, with the leftover unallocated space (if any), you may create D drive.
Please note that when you delete a drive, you will lose all the data on it. So make sure you back it up first!
mines says OS(C) next is 499 healthy then next is E
my CD ROm name is (D:)
Thanks buddy

hye mate. i dont see my drive in disk management. the disk name was SYSTEM (Z:). how i can delete this? i dont have it before then its was appear out of no where
If it's a recovery drive, the leave it alone.

Hey listen can u help cause I tried this but I have two disks, disk 0 and disk 1 and my free space is on disk 1 and I want it to be on disk 0
Hi, sorry I may be a little late to the party, but I would still like to help. Actually when you say Disk 0 & Disk 1, it sounds confusing. Do you mean Drive C & Drive D? Or are you doing something else. Gimme some more info so that I can help you.
Thanks mate❤💝
