Dude... You're the king. This was the third issue I was having installing my m.2... And you're first suggestion fixed it. Thanks bro! Smashed that like button!
You guys are going about this the hard way. When the "unallocated" rears it's ugly head it is because the partition config file has been corrupted for some reason and the fix is quick and simple. Obviously the config needs fixed. You can use the MiniTool Partition Wizard free version to fix this. Open the program and highlight the partition that has the corruption Right click on the partition and select move/resize Make your partition size a little bit smaller (all we are trying to do is get the software to examine and write the configuration of the partition) CLick OK and Click Apply on the next screen Your disk will now function normally. You can add that space back to the partition now - change drive letter etc Much simpler procedure that fixes the problem fast
@@toxindz Probably too late but if your drive had data already and it shows unallocated use a data recovery software like the one at the end of the video
This is great. But my hard drive had 3 partitions and they are gone. The whole drive is unallocated now. I need that data. If you have recommendations...I am all ears. Thumbs up for this video!!

The unallocated hard drive already has data which we need. You take it for granted that the drive is empty and/or needs just formating. If we format we lose the data. You are very rigid without making it clear that there is no chance of recovering the data. 6:18
Hi there, thank you for your question! You can try data recovery software but data recovery is never guaranteed if that data is extremely important I would recommend taking it to a professional for further assistance.
I get error The Operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the Refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer.
Optional Method: if the hard drive is unallocated, the drive will not show up in the list of hard drives, so you won't be able to select it from your software? In your video, it shows you choosing a hard drive that is already allocated, not unallocated?

Is this step work on internal hard drives?
I can't even see the Volume "x" because is unallocated, it doesn't even give me the option. This is so frustrating.
Optional Method: if the hard drive is unallocated, the drive will not show up in the list of hard drives, so you won't be able to select it from your software? In your video, it shows you choosing a hard drive that is already allocated, not unallocated?
