All i had to do was to shut down my desktop, wait to shutdown completely, unplug it, hold down the power button to reset, plug power back up, power on & got my D drive back, :)
Me too. Apparently you have to take away the power and give it a few moments to think about the error of its ways 😀 The PC had been off for a few days, and before then I'd had it on continuously for about a week, and in the meantime there was a Win 10 update that went into action when I turned the PC on today. It seemed to take forever, and then it just went completely black screen for an even longer time (no hourglass, no cursor, no mouse, but the monitor's power lamp was still blue, indicating it was active). So I forced a reboot which appeared to be fine - until I discovered that my 1Tb D drive and all of my data simply weren't there. Disk Management showed C drive only and rescanning changed nothing. Two restarts changed nothing. Forcing shutdown and unplugging for about 10 seconds totally worked. You suggest the additional step of pressing the power button while still unplugged, and I've read about doing that (to "flush" the capacitors) and I didn't do this, but unplugging and waiting a bit (also recommended when rebooting your modem and router) worked fine for me.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow, unfortunately, I tried them all and none worked. All my choices were grayed out. So, I've got a terrabyte unallocated drive for which I have no 'Rename' option. Frustrating.
@@marvello8684 well if u went to bios and didnt see your drive then its probably dead and u cant fix it, u can try to change sata or power cable if u r lucky it might fix it
Thank you so much for this tutorial. The first piece of advice was the best - don't panic! When Solution 1 didn't work, looked at the "system restore" panel. While looking around there, I noticed that my windows update was only partly completed. So I shut down my computer, let it update, and my 2 other hard drives returned. You are terrific!!!!!
If you have tried all the ways explained and didn’t work, your drive is most likely loose. Try to unscrew your laptop and fix that. You can put a hard paper to cover the space left in the drive slot. I struggled with my drive for months until I discovered that and fixed, it worked. All the best
When I went on device manager and disk drives my ssd showed up and said it’s working fine. However it’s not showing up and files that were downloaded or saved on that drive are now saying they are not found. Also on disk management the drive doesn’t show up I only have C drive on there
Tried all of the options and none worked. I don't have any unallocated drives, I just have one drive (hard drive) and my local drives D and E disappeared. What do I do?
Hi there, thank you for your question! If you have tried all common methods to fix a connected but not appearing disk in File Explorer, there are a few other solutions to try. You can open Disk Management by typing "diskmgmt.msc" in the Run dialog box, right-click on the disk that is not showing up, select "Change Drive Letter and Paths", click "Add", and choose a drive letter that is not in use. Alternatively, you can use Command Prompt as an administrator and type "diskpart", then "list disk" to see all connected disks, identify the problematic disk, type "select disk X" (replace "X" with the disk number), "clean" to wipe the disk, "create partition primary" to create a new partition, and "assign letter=X" (replace "X" with the desired letter). Additionally, it is worth checking for hardware issues by trying a different USB port or cable, or connecting the disk to another computer to see if it appears there.
Hello, I wish you could help me. I try those methods but my SSD is not showing. Here are the things it's mysterious. My SSD shows to the Disk manager It's Ramsta SSD however when I check in disk management is not there so frustrating I need to use this SSD on my laptop.
Good video. D: disappeared with crucial office data. What a ruckus it caused! The suggestions in video didn't help but as someone in the comments mentioned, removing laptop battery, removing the SSD, cleaning the connectors and removing dust and putting them back resolved the issue. Gosh. What a stress and thank you to everyone for the great comments and suggestions.
My second hard drive is not showing in my computers. And in disk management it is showing as missing. What should I do? I thought it was due to sata cable but no i chnged the sata cable but still its not showing.
After using photoshop for a while i noticed it was freezing a lot and my D Drive as maxed out at 100% and after that my D Drive just 'Disappeared'. Ever since, my D Drive would be showing in my file explorer but when i try to open something on it, the disk usage goes to 100% and the Drive disappears again. If you've had a similar experience then please reply
i got similar problem, i was using adobe premiere pro and when i did some editing, program suddenly freeze for a 10 seconds then worked normal. But when i try to open a Steam game, it showed that my D drive is missing. I disassembled the computer, removed the ssd then plugged back and it worked somehow. Now having the same problem, gonna do it again :(
Hi there, thank you for your question. If your hard drive is vibrating and making strange noises, it is likely a sign of hardware issues, and there is a possibility that the drive is failing or has already failed.
Hi, i have a bit of weird problem here ( at least for me ). Whenever i open 1 certain game ( just say it game a ), it always start to responding after 5 - 10 minutes playing. And after force close it ( since after waiting for 20 minutes or so the game still stop responding ), my storage drive that i use to store all the said game files, except for the said game launcher that stored on drive C by default, also stop responding. And whenever i tried to shutting down my pc, it takes longer than usual for my PC to turn off ( around 10 minutes or so ). And here is the weird part. At first, i thought " dang....another faulty storage drive", but after i open a couple of musics, films, documents, even run another games that also stored on the very same storage, nothing happening. It run normally and i can shutting down like i usually do ( normally it takes only about 5 - 10 seconds to shutting down my pc )
Let me share my problem encountered and how I fixed it. 1. Drive D is not showing up. So I followed the first step. 2. I see the "hidden" partition but the file system is RAW. 3. I right-click to the RAW partition and clicked "format" and make it NTFS. 4. After the formatting is done, I right-click again the partition and clicked on "change driver and paths..." 5. I assigned D and now the system can now read the "hidden" drive partition. Just sharing. Might as well work on someone else' situation.
My problem is it doesn't show because Windows says it's not initialized. I don't want to lose the files, but I fear the disk is faulty, or at least it's been corrupted somehow. Happened with a couple of them already. Trying to get something out of it still. But strangely there's little information about this on the Internet... Thanks.
I have a problem when I copied an SSD hard drive with a copy of Windows 10 and made it master and installed another hard drive, this HDD did not appear for me, knowing that the first has 240 GB and the second has 450 GB, and if I install the second master, it appears normally, is there any help?
If this video didn't work, and this issue happened right after doing things inside your pc, chanses are, like me, you broke your SATA port for your hard drive. To fix, just swap the cable of your hard drive to a different SATA port, and make sure it is in good.
Hi there, thank you for your question! Try opening Disk Management, click Action, and select Rescan Disks to force Windows to detect drives. Then, check Device Manager under Disk Drives for any warning icons; if there, try uninstalling the device and reconnecting or restarting your computer. In Disk Management, if the drive appears without a letter, right-click to add a drive letter. Alternatively, check the BIOS/UEFI on startup to confirm the drive is detected.
I have a question. To those who were successful with step 1 does the rescan process tell you by any means that it is done scanning or not? Like some sort of announcement or declare so I know the rescan didn't work.
thank you soo much my drive has been gone for months and after this video i have gotten it back. thanks for making the video and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! Method 5 work for me. Glad that I was not that worried about my missing drive after changing my laptop from windows 10 32-bit to 64-bit.
Thank you so much for this viedo. I tried all the steps from the video but the D drive is still not showing up. Is that mean my D drive might be broken?
None of that worked for me. I took the cover off of my Lenovo laptop and replaced the hard drive with a new one. It recognized that hard drive. I then swapped the original back in and that worked , but the drive was renamed from D: to F:
what if it's not detected but when I reboot it is? could it be mother board issue? hard drive issue? one fan header is dead on the ASUS Z97-P, Socket-1150 motherboard. the PC was new in 2015. The D drive on my PC is a Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5", OS drive is a SSD Corsair SSD Force Series GS 240GB 2.5"
I see my ssd in the device manager, all says device works properly, but smh its not visible today. Literally was ok yesterday without any issues. Even software from producer sees the drive and says its fine. What do?
Hi there, If your external hard disk is not showing up in disk management, it's possible that there is an issue with the connection between the hard disk and your computer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: Check the cable and connections. Check if the hard disk is spinning up. Check if the hard disk is recognized on another computer. Check the power supply. Try data recovery software. Download Recoverit here: bit.ly/3ZoowNK If none of these steps work, it's possible that the hard disk has failed and may need to be replaced.
Hi there, thank you for your question! Seeing "no media" for your removable drive in Disk Management typically means the device isn’t being detected correctly. First, try reconnecting the drive and using a different USB port. Next, test it on another computer to rule out issues with your current setup. In Device Manager, check if the drive appears under Disk Drives; if it shows an error, uninstall the device, then reconnect it to reinstall drivers. If the drive uses a USB cable, try swapping it with another.
Brilliant video, very to the point and easy to understand. However, none of these solutions worked. 1. Rescanning did not find the drive. 2. System restore to two seperate points failed, as it said it couldn't find a certain file and was cancelled so the restore was cancelled. 3. I can not acces Group Policy Manager. gpedit.msc didn't bring up anything 4. All drivers are up to date 5. Couldn't change the drive letter as it couldn't find the drive. I'll for sure drop a like on this video though because even though it didn't work for me it's very well presented!
Hey there! I think I found a solution! I had the same issues, and my system restores even ended up bluescreening. These got me thinking that it's a problem with the physical aspect of your devices. Yes, despite the fact that POST didn't signal any errors, I highly reccomend you take a look at how your SATA/SSD drives are fixed in. In my case, I've messed around with the cables. Usually your drive is fixed by 2 distinct ones. I think one of them thick, with 3 cables at the end, colored red, yellor and black. Thats your SATA power cable, which should be fine if your PC booted up in the first place. The issue in my case was with the second cable. Its red, flat and similar to the cables you can see in old school phones, with spring like rotation. It seemed to sit a little awkward, so I took it out (BEWARE: MAKE SURE YOUR PC ISNT PLUGGED IN) , blew off a little dust, and insterted it back in, this time fitted tighter. I also changed the motherboard port in which I put the 2nd end of the cable. Your motherboard most likely has 1-4 SATA ports which all look similar and serve the same function. In case one was damaged, I decided to put the second half in a different port from the original. Lo and behold, upon booting up, the drive was there once again!

my drive is gone completely it is plugged in and was working before i restarted to update, now its not in my device manager, i cant rescan for it, Unhiding doesnt work.
No good for me. I am on windows 10, but I do not see some of the menus that you see. Where I do, some of the options are greyed out or do not work. No reflection on you of course, I am sure you know your stuff.
Nothing is working. In the last solution...When Looking For D drive it shows "G" but no media showing. If I click on ADD...Assign the following letter will NOT highlight. Cannot assign a new letter. What do I do
Very good video, easy to follow all the solutions. I had a missing D disk after installation of windows 10 on my laptop, but through your video I managed retreiving it. Thanks a lot! :D
The 5th solution worked for me! Something borked my files and I had to reinstall windows. When I did and was reinstalling my apps I noticed my D drive wasn't there.
@Wondershare Recoverit Data Recovery :Here is the solution What to do when the secondary drive showed up and then disappeared?. The third method works. But the next day my secondary drive not showing again. I went to disk management___Action-----Rescan disks for 3 times. Restarted PC for 3 times. The secondary Drive appeared .Then I highlighted and Format it for 2 times .Now the secondary drive is showing up to this time. I did not change the secondary drive path name. I kept as "D". I think the DVD drive and secondary drive conflicting the name "D" or Win10 wanted to save in CLOUD. Cheers.
Hi Michael, Good Day, first of all thanks alot for this informative video, i really loved your content. I have tried all your steps that you have mentioned in this video, but unfortunately it did not fix my issue. So what worked for me is as below: 1. I tried to update all the pending windows updates along with the firmware for devices. You can check if you have any pending updates by navigating from: Start-> Settings-> Update and Security-> Windows Update If you have any pending updates on firmware DO FINISH those updates because it what fixed my issue. 2. (optional) Try reconneing you hard drive cables in the laptop and do a restart. Kindly Pin my comment as it would be helpful to other people if you can. Cheers!
Thank you for posting this comment. None of the other methods were working for me, but I checked the updates. Did find various pending and updated all. After restart, my D drive came back as it was. A big thanks!!!
I'm a musician and for two days I was working hard on my project and every sound pack and every VST was in my D folder. When I want to restore it wants to throw me back to 2 days ago but in 2 days I've done looots of things and I can't lose them. WTF is this seriously. Why this even happens? And also my computer started to open slow and I'm even doubtful that if I restore 2 days ago it would save my disk or not.
After trying the first solution, my local disk d popped up but when I double click to open it says format. And a whole instructions and went back to hidden.
I tried doing the first option of RESCAN....I got it back....but after restarting system again only c: drive and DVD drive is visible.....how to solve this....I am on window 7...
Curious, but does downloading SVN/TortoiseSVN/WinMerge cause these issues by chance? I was able to troubleshoot and fix the problem. However I do not know why it happened.
Hi there, thank you for your question! I don’t think downloading SVN/TortoiseSVN/WinMerge would cause your D drive to go missing. These are software tools for version control and file comparison, not disk management. However, it is possible that some other program or process interfered with your drive settings or corrupted your file system.
Nothing works for me, I followed another tutorial wich told me to uninstall the drive if there was no updates available. Which I did, restarted my computer but now my drive is nowhere to be found... I am completely f****d and I don't know what to do. I NEED HELP
System Restore works only about 10% of the time since it came out. Cleaned my computer, and my physical hard drive disappeared. Been using that drive for back-ups for years, now it's gone. Can't even remember what brand it was. There are no loose SATA cables or disconnected power cables, it just disappeared. My Bios shows all SATA ports as working.

oh my god! I was panicking, so I just restarted my laptop when I was just about to watch this, and it came back! should I still do some of the things mentioned here?
not to be rude but, the non of solutions them actually got me the drive back (restarting sometimes does). if my drive is lost then I have to restart with a chance to get it back I made a backup when it was there and the next time it disappeared the recovery did not help. also making the drive have another letter does not fix the issue. and when my drive I gone I cant even scan for the drives (solution one) ill just reboot it a few times and then hope it wont just gives up after some time.
my concern is, my d drive opens on its own when it feels llike. i scanned my comp for virus but nothing so far. have you heard of this issue before? and if so can you help me with that?
I have 2 of 4 drives that come and go as they please in tandem. Replaced the power supply to no avail. new pc with 2 working old drives. can't be sata cable because they are individual, and were working on the old system. I'm at a loss.
🤔 What about virtual hard drive? I was attempting to calculate a parity drive in Storage Spaces with Virtual disks. I successfully created 2 VHDs through Diskman, but after creating a 3rd VHD I got an error and the VHDs no longer showed up in Diskman. The VHD file names still showed up on the host disk, but no longer shown in Diskman, Diskpart, or "This PC". Any idea what did/is happening? I never even made it to Storage Spaces.
Hi there, thank you for your question! One possible reason for this issue could be that the third VHD you created may have exceeded the maximum number of virtual disks that can be created on your system. Another possibility is that the third VHD may have caused a conflict with the other VHDs, causing them to disappear. Try to open Disk Management and check if the VHDs are listed there if they are, you can try to re-attach them. If they aren't listed try to create new VHDs with different names and attach them to see if they appear. you can try to use PowerShell to manage your virtual disks You can also use the Get-VirtualDisk cmdlet to retrieve information about your virtual disks and see if that provides any more information.
🥰 Thank you, (LOL)I suppose I shouldn't assume that I have enterprise level features while running Pro. I love the video content you create, been subed for several years now.

Hi there, thank you for your question! First try opening up Command Prompt as Administrator (press Win + X and choose “Command Prompt (Admin)” or “Windows PowerShell (Admin)" then type "diskpart" to open the DiskPart utility then type "list disk" to identify your external drive and select the disk with "select disk (drive letter)" then type "clean" then you should be able to create a new primary partition with create partition primary. Format the partition with NTFS using "format fs=ntfs quick" after that is completed assign the drive letter using assign letter=(your letter)" this should hopefully work remember this will erase all the data on the drive so make sure to create a backup before attempting to do this.
Thank you very much for sharing this video. I did the same...bwalaahh it actually works!!! I got my drive D & E back!! just sharing this.. might also works on others. Good luck guys!
Mine has been doing this recently. It also closes itself and the d drive disappears only to reappear later for a minute or so before once again vanishing. It's possible that it's an update that has bugs from windows.
my drive D on win 10 disappeared, i turned my laptop off , unplugged it , opened my laptop rear cover , took off ssd ram and put it back in , my d drive appeared.
I think I have a worse problem. I was playing a game and suddenly my computer just shut off. I smelled a weird burning smell coming out of my vents and I thought my whole computer died. I was able to turn it back on and it booted up just fine but then I noticed a bunch of blank icons on my desktop. I opened up This PC and where drive D should have been there was a box that says CD-ROM instead. Disk Management shows no drive D and system restore did nothing. I'm assuming that my drive D just died on me.
Hi there, thank you for your question! You can't assign a drive letter to a drive that is not showing up I would recommend checking the BIOS to see if the drive appears on your computer.
I tried all these and the SSD from SK Hynix which was showing up no longer does!! I was able to detect it with Device Manager and did a Clean using DiskPart. But the SSD no longer appears! The last time it was showing up, it was going in and out of File Manager!!

Hi there, thank you for your question! First, make sure you have entered the correct path to the Group Policy Editor. You can try opening it again and double-checking the path.If the path is correct and the error persists, you can try resetting the Group Policy settings to default. To do this, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type in the following command: RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicy" After executing the command, restart your computer and try accessing the Group Policy Editor again.
Hello! It seems that somhow after I installed a new 2TB M.2 Card then installed a New Win 10 Pro two System Reserved Drives (K) & (L) have appeared on one of three of my SSD Storage Drives (M)! My PC used to boot & shut down fast but now am experiencing all kinds of Start Up issues! Do you think If I attempt to migrate the two Reserved Drives (K) & (L) to my new M.2 2TB (C) Drive my PC will once again will Start Up & Shut Down fast with no issues again?
Hi there, thank you for your question! The appearance of the two System Reserved Drives (K) and (L) on the SSD Storage Drive (M) could be related to the installation of a new 2TB M.2 card and Windows 10 Pro. It's possible that migrating the system reserved drives to the new M.2 drive may help to resolve the startup issues, I would recommend backing up all important data before attempting to do so. Before migrating, other troubleshooting steps like running a system file check, repairing the Windows boot loader, or disabling unnecessary startup programs should be tried.

DIsk is connected but does not appear in file explorer. Tried all your method. None worked. Any other solution?
Exactly , mine too!
Thanks for the video. None of the solution worked but luckily drives came back after i restarted few times!
My second hard drive is not showing in my computers.
And in disk management it is showing as missing. What should I do? I thought it was due to sata cable but no i chnged the sata cable but still its not showing.
I was downloading a bunch of games on steam and the next day I come back to check on my pc and the drive is gone
same here, Any solution?
Now having the same problem, gonna do it again :(
My D drive disappeared suddenly from my laptop it's not even in the desk management!
Any idea what's the problem?
Did it solve brother!?
apparently my hard drive was vibrating and making strange noises. is it broken?
Hi there, thank you for your question. If your hard drive is vibrating and making strange noises, it is likely a sign of hardware issues, and there is a possibility that the drive is failing or has already failed.
Followed every step and still nothing. I’m really disappointed since I’m suddenly missing a 2TB SSD NVME.🤦🏻♂️
Where did you get this game? Lol
Method 2 worked. The update made my drive disappear. One day Windows will get their stuff together.
You are really great! I got my D drive back after restoring the device. I was scared a lot because it has 1000GB of data storage. So thanks a lot❤️
Glad to be helpful.:)
Let me share my problem encountered and how I fixed it.
1. Drive D is not showing up. So I followed the first step.
2. I see the "hidden" partition but the file system is RAW.
3. I right-click to the RAW partition and clicked "format" and make it NTFS.
4. After the formatting is done, I right-click again the partition and clicked on "change driver and paths..."
5. I assigned D and now the system can now read the "hidden" drive partition.
Just sharing. Might as well work on someone else' situation.
I was about to do this, but won't you have to format it (ie delete the files)?

2:30 I did that on my inaccessible disk and my disk disappeared! Is there a way to make it appear?
Hi there, thank you for your question! Try opening Disk Management, click Action, and select Rescan Disks to force Windows to detect drives. Then, check Device Manager under Disk Drives for any warning icons; if there, try uninstalling the device and reconnecting or restarting your computer. In Disk Management, if the drive appears without a letter, right-click to add a drive letter. Alternatively, check the BIOS/UEFI on startup to confirm the drive is detected.
@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware It came back by itself

I have a question. To those who were successful with step 1 does the rescan process tell you by any means that it is done scanning or not? Like some sort of announcement or declare so I know the rescan didn't work.
For me the rescan button was grayed out
thank you soo much my drive has been gone for months and after this video i have gotten it back. thanks for making the video and keep up the good work.
I personally think Aomei backupper is better than this one because this one did not work actually.
I also have a lenovo and having the same issues
what if it's not detected but when I reboot it is? could it be mother board issue? hard drive issue?
one fan header is dead on the ASUS Z97-P, Socket-1150 motherboard. the PC was new in 2015.
What do?
Hi there,
If your external hard disk is not showing up in disk management, it's possible that there is an issue with the connection between the hard disk and your computer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the cable and connections.
Check if the hard disk is spinning up.
Check if the hard disk is recognized on another computer.
Check the power supply.
Try data recovery software. Download Recoverit here: bit.ly/3ZoowNK
If none of these steps work, it's possible that the hard disk has failed and may need to be replaced.
@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware it fixed itself top kek. Mostly some windows bug
nothing worked :( In Disk Managment, I can see "Disk 1, removable (D:)" but under that it says "no media". What do I do?
Hi there, thank you for your question!
3. I can not acces Group Policy Manager. gpedit.msc didn't bring up anything
4. All drivers are up to date
5. Couldn't change the drive letter as it couldn't find the drive.
I'll for sure drop a like on this video though because even though it didn't work for me it's very well presented!
hey man did you find a solution yet or ur still fked because im rlly fked up because of my 1 tb drive gone in an instant

Cheers.
Hi Michael,
Good Day, first of all thanks alot for this informative video, i really loved your content. I have tried all your steps that you have mentioned in this video, but unfortunately it did not fix my issue. So what worked for me is as below:
1. I tried to update all the pending windows updates along with the firmware for devices. You can check if you have any pending updates by navigating from: Start-> Settings-> Update and Security-> Windows Update
If you have any pending updates on firmware DO FINISH those updates because it what fixed my issue.
2. (optional) Try reconneing you hard drive cables in the laptop and do a restart.
Kindly Pin my comment as it would be helpful to other people if you can.
Cheers!
Soooooo have u got it back orr? Having same problem
Thank you for posting this comment. None of the other methods were working for me, but I checked the updates. Did find various pending and updated all. After restart, my D drive came back as it was.
A big thanks!!!
Thank you so much for this comment.. This method worked. Just saved my life. Phew!
My vst folder is missing where is this folder go I can't find it in your recover software
Hi, I don't lost one of my drives, but suddenly when I start up my computer, it says Missing System File. So I have to use my Windows 10 Installer to start up the computer. Next time is the same. It just suddenly came yesterday. How to fix that without wipe the machine again or restore?
Rescan did not work for me. So i went to Disk Management, found the affected drive at the bottom >> Right click on it >> Change Drive Letter >> Add >> Selected "D:" drive again. It worked like a charm.
i installed a program to move C drive files and games to D drive after i realised it was max 500mb free moving. i deleted the program called AOMEI. looked for another program called easeUS same thing 500mb max moving space for free so i deleted the program again. i stopped searching and REALISED I LOST 3500 GB OF SPACE. MY GAMES AND MILION FILES GOT DELETED ITS JUST GONE I ONLY HAVE A FEW FILES LEFT!!!!!!! WTF IS THIS HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE my C drive is an ssd 250gb and my D drive is 4TB. 4000 GB
What if the patrition is completely disappeared, not in any list? Like not in the disc management list at all? I got a message saying "intel rapid storage technology driver sata removed" and since then it is gone.

@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware well it escalated. I have an Asus laptop, in it an SSD with the system(windows) and a HDD for data. It is the HDD that seems to be faulty, but I am still not sure if it is Hardware or Software problem. Any time I try to open or copy a larger file, or larger ammount of files, or even if I try to do a virus scan or defragmentation on it, either the drive D: that is related to this HDD disappers completely, and I need to reset a BIOS option during a restart to bring it back... Or, now, sometimes it causes a Blue Screen of Death. A Diagnostics tool gives a "caution" label to the HDD. I cant find my drive d missing how ??? I cant find it all of them
for the last method, the "Assign the following drive letter" cant be pressed for some reason, please help me
Hi there, thank you for your question!
Though none actually works for me but as i read comments in here and from other videos I saw someone's comment that he just turned off his computer for a few minutes and turned it on. I did the same...bwalaahh it actually works!!! I got my drive D & E back!! just sharing this.. might also works on others. Good luck guys!
Hello Sir, Would you mind answering my problem why is my Local Disk D:/ folder pops up like every 2-3mins?
Mine has been doing this recently. It also closes itself and the d drive disappears only to reappear later for a minute or so before once again vanishing. It's possible that it's an update that has bugs from windows.
@thecoffeemainiak5400 is it not because of defective Hard drive?
my drive D on win 10 disappeared, i turned my laptop off , unplugged it , opened my laptop rear cover , took off ssd ram and put it back in , my d drive appeared.
By any chance? Was your charging cable plugged in? It couldve been the cable that has blown off due to high power
Also, how could you assign a drive letter to a drive that is missing ?
Hi there, thank you for your question! You can't assign a drive letter to a drive that is not showing up I would recommend checking the BIOS to see if the drive appears on your computer.
I tried all these and the SSD from SK Hynix which was showing up no longer does!! I was able to detect it with Device Manager and did a Clean using DiskPart. But the SSD no longer appears! The last time it was showing up, it was going in and out of File Manager!!

My drive isnt showing on in the device management, if i open it after not using it for a while its coming up again.
Hi there,
If your external hard disk is not showing up in disk management, it's possible that there is an issue with the connection between the hard disk and your computer.

Actually my E drive has been missing which contains important softwares and some documents. Could you please sort out another video?
Did you find any solution
When i tried the 3rd solution, the pc showed an error message stating it couldn't find that file. Any way around it?
