      i think he means to save the data on an external hard drive. that way if you can't get the drive to reappear at least you got back your files

      You can try using a different cable, but if the drive loses connection, this is an issue with the drive controller, and this drive may become totally unrecognizable.
      Try making a backup of this drive to then scan it: www.cleverfiles.com/help/dmg-iso-backup.html

    Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my computer - my dang D drive has gone MIA. I've tried all the usual fixes like checking disk management and scanning for errors, but no luck so far. I'm low-key freaking out because I had some important stuff saved on there. Anyone else been in this boat before or got any tips to share? Hit me up in the comments if you do, I'm desperate for some help!

      I had this issue many times in the last 6 months or so, I wonder if this is a motherboard problem. Suddenly the disks "disappear", the PC don't boot (so you have to disconnect the keyboard, mouse, etc.. then it boots again for whatever reason). It is such a headache smh

    • @oleksandrmedvediev4550
      @oleksandrmedvediev4550 4 месяца назад

      @@RRRRRRRRR33 It looks like in both of your cases, your PC/Laptop can't deliver enough power and that's why your drive doesn't boot. For the same reason disconnecting other devices helps to solve the problem. So you either need some kind of external drive with it's own power supply if your are using laptop, or PSU with bigger capacity for your PC.

    I have just one disk, ssd. My ssd hard disk was divided into c and d. c contains the operating system. One day, when I turned off the computer and turned it on, I saw that the local disk D had disappeared. I'm sure I didn't delete local disk d. Has anyone experienced this? How can I solve it?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  3 месяца назад

      Check Disk Management to see if the partition is unallocated or missing a drive letter, and assign one if needed. Run chkdsk to fix any file system errors. Ensure your SSD is recognized in BIOS/UEFI and update disk drivers via Device Manager. If the partition remains missing, use data recovery tools likeDisk Drill. As a last resort, try a system restore or seek professional help if you suspect hardware issues.

  • @spicylemons1983

    Hello, so my problem started while I ran ccleaner, I did a clean and after I did that it was as if it deleted my disk D entirely. Once I restarted the computer it was there again, though after trying to run an application on my disk D it stopped responding and it automatically closed my file browser. Afterwards it was gone again.
    I have no backup point to go back to, I‘ve tried to scan for disks but it‘s as if it‘s been physically removed. My Disk D is hardware.
    I‘m really not good with computers so I’ve tried following tutorials but nothing has worked so far. I even tried using the control Center to rename the disk back to disk D, though it hasn‘t worked. The only thing I haven’t tried so far is to use a file recovery software

      Check physical connections and try different ports or cables. Access BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the drive is detected. Hi, quick question that I understand you may not have the answer to but I thought I'd ask. I was messing around with my computer a few days ago and installed a Linux Distro on a drive I don't use, and unplugged both windows boot drive and extra D drive for files to make sure I wasn't accidentally installing the software on those. I went about my business and decided I wanted to use windows again, and upon booting back up, I saw that the time zone on my pc changed to multiple hours ahead (4 if that helps) and that all of my drives, and any drives I put into the computer now are undetected, and can't have their drive letters changed in disk manager. I have a feeling like windows locked itself up or something but am quite unsure what's going on. I did the disk drill scan and it looks like all of my files are still on the D drive, and my windows drive works fine. Hopefully someone has a solution to this, but if not no worries. Thanks, and have a good one

By copying and pasting (transfering) the files from the SD card unto the laptop SSD internal drive, I was able to access the files in safe mode, albeit not being able to delete the files regardless of it being safe mode or not because the error turned out to be that several files were corrupted. Only the folder can be deleted regardless of it being in safe mode. The only solution is to file recovery with a recovery service since the corrupted files are zipped. I plan to delete some files and recover the rest of the files someday, although the recovery service is too expensive. Thanks for your help, though.

      @@masaouighelane49 I read other similar cases... the issue can be related to the PSU. If it fails to distribute power, the PC puts the SSD (or HD) to "sleep", so the SSD "disappears" from Windows. My PSU is "old" (I bought it in 2017ish), 430w, etc.. I had to change it anyway if I want to upgrade the PC further, so I bought a new PSU, still waiting for the delivery. By the way, the SSD is stable now, the PC is working normally, I changed the sata cables (both energy and the one you plug in the motherboard), maybe that alone can solve the issue on your end. I forgot to mention how I had these issues multiple times with different SSDs in the last 6 months or so (changing the cables around, different brands, etc), most likely my PSU is the source of the problem

      @@Sacknana Yep, the power supply was the culprit. I guess the PSU was not distributing power just right, that's why the SSDs were "disappearing" because they were turning off in a way, sometimes the PSU fried them outright, etc.. I lost three cheap SSDs from random Chinese brands that way, luckily I found the culprit before it fried the Samsung SSD as well. I had a cheap PSU, 430w white, I guess the components worn out with time
